  1. Start: 8 am, Foreautumn 27, 401 GA
  2.
  3. The party briefly studied the now defenseless portal before them. Righteous Toil exclaimed when he noticed the portal 'wink' and peered through his spellbook. He informed the party the portal must have spontaneously redirected.
  4.
  5. Meanwhile, Ryardynin heard a voice speak to him from the portal, seeming both to come from without and within at once. It sounded oddly familiar, and spoke his name, as if beckoning.
  6.
  7. Alasdair recalled some information about the Danaan. He remembered: They are seafaring foreigners embroiled in a war with the North. They often blend swordsmanship and magic, and their level of organization is high. Conceptually, they are about 1-200 years ahead of the north in technology. Their queen is known as Pelagia. Additionally, they are at war with Cormine and the member states of the North. They are gradually winning the battle, despite the distance of their homeland. Foremost, they are responsible for the destabilization of the northlands, because if it were not for them, the collective might of the North could crush the other threats which have sprung up like a cancer.
  8.
  9. Ryardynin impulsively jumps in to the portal. Seizing the moment of confusion, Pan, Alasdair, and Emilia grab Righteous Toil's spellbook and manacle him.
  10.
  11. The party mutually decides to follow Ryardynin through the portal, and bring Righteous Toil along with them.
  12.
  13. On the other side, they find themselves in a somewhat foggy, yet bright sunny field, with a never reachable, yet visibly distant forest perpetually on the horizon.
  14.
  15. After some deliberation, they realized with a cold shudder that they found themselves in the Sunscape of Emon-Lon.
  16.
  17. Oddly, Alasdair saw through the divine illusion, perceiving the space as a near featureless, ashen plain.
  18.
  19. A creature, who they also realized to be Emon-Lon, spoke thus to Ryardynin:
  20.
  21. The voice sounds regretful and vaguely mournful. 'The time is yet premature. Your presence was not anticipated so early, young one. It is best for you to return from whence you came. We will speak again when you are ready. Your time is still in the sun. You may join us in the woods at a later time. I have much to show you, but I will hold onto my anticipation for now.' It feels as if this place is oddly allegorical, but it couldn't truly be. Perhaps the master of this place is using his strange realm as an allegory... but for what? You feel as if you could return, if you simply asked. But do you want to?
  22.
  23. 'Soon enough... The time is not yet right. We will meet again soon, my protege. You must learn of all the horrors of the world. You must be scathed to ascend. You must be harmed to achieve your destiny. You must face trials to become what you are meant to be. But - it is too premature. Not yet time.'
  24.
  25. 'Simply ask. I will return you to whence you came. I am glad to have met you, and know you for what you are now. You will be different when we meet next."
  26.
  27. "I am Emon-Lon, an admirer and suitor of yours. I foresee great things for you, Ryardynin. I must not tell you overmuch, at least, not now."
  28.
  29. (One side of the conversation, apologies)
  30.
  31. Emon-Lon sent the party back from whence they came.
  32.
  33. Frazzled and confused, the party briefly deliberated on what to do next.
  34.
  35. Alasdair spoke with Righteous Toil and had a gentleman's disagreement. Disarmed of his spellbook, Righteous Toil decided to engage the party and was defeated.
  36.
  37. Disarming the traps, the party explored the remainder of the tomb. They found a statue holding a curious staff, which Dianna immediately attempted to liberate, with little success. This roused the attention of the guardians of the place. Holow managed to speak diplomatically to the basilisks, miraculously, ensuring the staff is returned to its people.
  38.
  39. Alasdair freed the staff from its place within the statue.
  40.
  41. The party decided to leave.
  42.
  43. Pan and Holow spoke with the hobgoblins on the way out, and found out Manfred could not swim. Slightly bemused by this revelation, they decided to leave Sandhole. Emilia conjured a ship of ice, and they set out, reaching port in Gol-Galoon. The city appeared to be in much better repair than Izzero.
