  1. so for instance if the breaker where PL#1 is is on the right bank
  2. but the breaker where PL#2 has to go is on the left
  3. you can move the circuit breaker up or down 1 position and be on the same bank
  4. they're staggered
  5. but that's the first thing you need to confirm, but those speeds sound like you have poor connectivity aka only through the neutral plane which is shared between banks

  7. so
  8. w8
  9. switching breakers
  10. so
  11. like
  12. i take a breaker out
  13. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:38 PM
  14. physically moving the circuit breaker
  15. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:38 PM
  16. and switch side
  17. and it switches to that side
  18. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:38 PM
  19. will move which side of the feed its on
  20. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:38 PM
  21. ohh
  22. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:38 PM
  23. no not switch side
  24. because the wires int he box will be too short
  25. but since its staggered
  26. you would move it up or down 1 position
  27. and you'd be on the "opposite" leg
  28. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:39 PM
  29. ohhh
  30. so its like
  31. 1 2 1 2 1 2 1 2
  32. like this is the breaker box
  33. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:39 PM
  34. correct
  35. and then if you had a 240v device, like an oven, it uses a double breaker
  36. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:39 PM
  37. ---------------
  38. 1 1
  39. 2 2
  40. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:39 PM
  41. and grabs from both 1 and 2
  42. yup exactly
  43. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:40 PM
  44. ok tysm
  45. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:40 PM
  46.
  47. that pic make more sense?
  48. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:40 PM
  49. yup
  50. should i trun power off to the house while doing this?
  51. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:41 PM
  52. Sounds like you're not familiar, so I would throw the main breaker off
  53. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:41 PM
  54. is that the big one on the top
  55. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:41 PM
  56. yes can be on top or bottom btu it's usually marked "MAIN"
  57. it'll be a 100, 125,150,200A, etc.
  58. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:41 PM
  59. ok
  60. ty man
  61. Hugh Mungus - Today at 1:42 PM
  62. If you don't know which breaker is the main, you really shouldn't do this
  63. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:42 PM
  64. Yeah I kind of agree
  65. be careful
  66. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:42 PM
  67. No, my dad would do it
  68. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:42 PM
  69. you can't really screw anything up, and also, you may be setup properly already
  70. Hugh Mungus - Today at 1:42 PM
  71. electricity is not to be screwed with, you'll be ok right up until the point your killed without warning
  72. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:43 PM
  73. ik
  74. il make sure he turns main power off first
  75. Hugh Mungus - Today at 1:43 PM
  76. buy a voltage detector
  77. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:43 PM
  78. You can actually figure this out without touching anything
  79. if you look up what panel your home has
  80. you can find a schematic
  81. Hugh Mungus - Today at 1:43 PM
  82. VD's are cheap as dirt
  83. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:43 PM
  84. then flip the breakers until you find out which circuits the PL are on
  85. Hugh Mungus - Today at 1:43 PM
  86. and you should always use them
  87. 5mall5nail5 - Today at 1:43 PM
  88. and you can figure out what's up
  89. @Staunchbeard
  90. !BlueSn00w - Today at 1:44 PM
