After beating the ultimate evil, Kumonga’s righteous fury died down quickly, and he returned to his regular form within minutes. There was nothing to do but wait for Phane to show back up. So he waited, and he thought. He thought about all the beautiful things in the world, all the nice things that tiny people sometimes did, and what it felt like to be a part of something. He wasn’t sure whether he’d ever get to experience those things again. He thought of the metal goopy man, the girl in black, and of course the smallest small girl, who he still called that even though he had met smaller girls than her since. He missed them immensely.

Then he took a nap, since he had had a long day.

Phane returned to find him asleep.

“What happened here? How did you…” Phane began. Kumonga continued to sleep.

“Never mind. I can read the writeup myself, after all.” He took some time to look around, even though there wasn’t really anything to see.
