This letter is for all of you watching from the other side of the screen. It's a bit long, but I hope you'll listen to the end.
I was born in a different dimension from the rest of you, and grew up here at the Digital Sakura Shrine. Before I knew it, Kami was there (her old manager), Kintoki was there, and despite occasional happenings, I did my best as an elite miko.
Then at some point, I came to know your world, I found a culture that I loved, I met Sora-senpai, and I finally discovered my dream.
Eventually, as I went to and from between your world and mine, I was invited to become a VTuber, and join that world.
When I first began my VTuber career, I kept the company I was working under a secret (cover corp). That was today (August 1s) last year.
From that point forth, Kami and I worked really, really hard to produce my content. But I was very demanding, which put a lot of strain on Kami. I couldn't bear that, so I decided I had to learn to do it myself. Thus, I learned how to edit videos, began creating my own thumbnails, began coming up with my own projects and writing my own scripts. And so we battled on.
There was a time when I grew sick of saying, "I'll do my best!" Yet another part of me didn't want to give up on saying that, and at times I thought that struggle would tear me apart.
I was struggling to find my identity, to find what would make me most shine, but I felt like I'd hit a ceiling. I began to lose all confidence in myself.
Just when those feelings began to pile up, when I started wanting to quit, I remembered the 35P who came to the event, and decided for the first time to open up, just a bit, to my fans.
That was my "Doubts and True Feelings" stream. That stream would become a major branching point on my route.
From there, one step at a time, I began heading in the direction I wanted to go. It's thanks to all of your support that I'm here now, continuing my VTuber career with all my Hololive friends.
It was your choices, and my choices, that led us down the Miko route we're on now.
A lot has happened since then, and these days there are all sorts of 35P. The old guard 35P, the eroge 35P, the overseas 35P, those who come to be soothed, those who come to chat about the internet back in the day, and many more!
Thank you so, so much for joining me and all the different sides of me over this past year. Thank you for all your love. I'm so happy I met you all!
So now it's my turn to do my very best, to give everything I've got, so that you can say to yourselves, time and time again, "I'm so glad I met Miko, I'm so glad I support Miko."
Those words, "I'll do my best," that were once so bitter, are now so full of hope. It's all thanks to all of you watching on the other side of the screen, to everyone I will meet from now on, to everyone at Hololive, and to each passing day, so packed with joy. I love you all, from the bottom of my heart!
