  3. QUESTION (From Brother Auther Nkamuhebwa in Uganda)
  4.
  5. How are you brother? Can you elaborate for me on (Mathew 11:11), the last part of it where it says "yet even the least person in the kingdom of Heaven is greater than he " Thank you very much.
  6.
  7. ANSWER
  8.
  9. When JESUS say that "Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one GREATER than John the Baptist," then we must know that JESUS is talking about John's POSITION on this "EARTH." It means that when you take the entirety human beings on this "EARTH" into perspective, John is the GREATEST because of the role that he played in passing the SINS of the entire human race on JESUS as the representative of mankind through the baptism that JESUS received from him. He is the one who passes the SINS of Adam, Seth, Methuselah, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Elijah, David etc on JESUS.
  10.
  11. However, right from the beginning of his ministry, John the Baptist himself acknowledged the GREATNESS" of our Lord JESUS, and it was for this reason that he confessed, "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He (JESUS) who is coming after me is MIGHTY than I, whose sandals I am NOT worthy to carry..." (Matthew 3:11).
  12.
  13. This is the reason why when JESUS went to John for baptism, he refused initially on the grounds that he is "NOT" even "worthy" or deserving to baptize the Son of God who is also God Himself by nature and by all standards. That's why John tried to prevent JESUS in the beginning (Matthew 3:14).
  14.
  15. But the fact that JESUS told John to baptize Him shows clearly that John the Baptist is indeed the "GREATEST" among those born of a women. For a human being such as John to baptize the God-Man by passing the entire SIN of humanity to Him reveals John's POSITION as being "GREATER" than all humans.
  16.
  17. But when JESUS says, "He who is LEAST in the Kingdom of God is GREATER than him," He is talking about the POSITION of someone who is a born again child of God whose name is written in Heaven (the Book of Life), and who "reigns" in Heaven (Revelation 2:26-27). Therefore JESUS was saying that such a person's POSITION in "HEAVEN" is "GREATER" than John's POSITION on this "EARTH" as the representative of mankind.
  18.
  19. We must understand that the POSITION of somebody who is a child of a king (princess) on this "EARTH" cannot be compared to somebody who is a child of the King of Kings (princess) in "HEAVEN."
  20.
  21. Hope it is now clear to you Brother.
  22.
  23. Remain BLESSED.
