  1. Hi, I’m George and thanks for coming in!
  2. Today, we’re going to discuss the training needs of our teams at Bagwan Health.
  3. Recently, we surveyed our staff coordinators and they told us that they didn’t have the skills and knowledge to manage meetings. Our CEO has given you an insight into those issues in her latest update video. We want training developed that is non-accredited as staff don’t want to do assessments, they just want the skills and knowledge to run meetings efficiently and effectively.
  4. In consultation with your organisation, we’ve decided to use BSBADM502 Manage Meetings as the benchmark for this non-accredited training. This unit of competency was chosen as it covers all administrative and performance aspects for running meetings.
  5. It will give coordinators and middle managers the required knowledge and skills to prepare and distribute materials, to conduct and chair meetings, and to report and follow up on the meetings they organise and conduct. They will also learn how to distribute and store the minutes and action reports in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
  6. Based on the survey conducted, we’ve chosen three session topics for the training program. Bagwan Health coordinators and middle managers will select and complete the two training sessions which best suit their needs. Please download the Scenario Briefing Document for an outline of the topics in each session based on the unit of competency.
  7. Your job is it to develop two of the three training sessions. We would like each session is to be 40 minutes in duration with a 10 minute break between sessions. Total training time must not exceed 90 minutes. As mentioned before, there are to be no formal assessments but we’d like to see a mixture of activities including role plays, discussions and the analysis of exemplars.
  8. You are also required to trial your training with a group of eight or more participants, this could be your TAE classmates. Once the trial is completed, seek feedback from the participants on the content, the pace of the training, and the activities conducted. This can include any recommendations they have for improving the program before it’s delivered to our staff.
  9. Now don’t forget, you can submit a draft of your session plans to me during the planning phase for feedback or for further clarification on what you need to do.
  10. Welcome aboard and we look forward to some challenging and interesting training on managing meetings for our staff.
