Amuro: So Bright... How do you plan to deal with Mineva Zabi?

ブライト
「[エコーズ]が彼女を監禁すると
上申してきたが、私の権限で拒否した」
Bright: The [ECOAS] men requested that I imprison her, but I rejected the idea.

ブライト
「先程の人質の件もあり、これ以上この艦の中で
連中の好きにやらせるわけにはいかんのでな」
Bright: Unfortunately, after that earlier hostage situation, I can’t allow them to do as they please on this ship anymore.

アムロ
「だが、彼女の正体は艦内の皆が知ったぞ」
Amuro: But now, everyone on the ship knows her true identity.

ブライト
「わかっている。
今は個室に軟禁し、クルーの監視をつけてある」
Bright: That they do. For now I have her confined to her quarters and under crew supervision.

アムロ
「その後は?」
Amuro: And after that?

ブライト
「実は、地球に降下する前から
参謀本部の指示を待っている状態でな」
Bright: Can’t say. To be honest, we’ve been waiting on instructions from General Staff Headquarters even before we dropped to Earth.

アムロ
「つまり、上でもミネバ・ザビの処遇を
決めかねているというわけか」
Amuro: In other words, the higher ups aren’t sure what to do about Mineva Zabi?

ブライト
「おそらくな。
[ラプラスの箱]に関しては、[ビスト財団]が
参謀本部を介して我々に指示を出したり…」
Bright: Most likely. In regards to [Laplace’s Box], the [Vist Foundation] has been issuing orders via General Staff Headquarters.

ブライト
「アルベルト・ビスト氏が自分の意向を
直接伝えてきたが、次の目的地が判明した後、
彼は判断を保留した」
Bright: Mr. Alberto Vist conveyed the orders personally, but after we learned of the next destination, he’s postponed any decision on the matter.

アムロ
「なら、地球へ降りたのはブライトの独断なのか?」
Amuro: Does that mean you made the call to descend to Earth yourself, Bright?

ブライト
「そういうわけじゃない。
ここだけの話、ローナン・マーセナス議員からも、
内々に箱の調査依頼が来ていてな」
Bright: Not quite. Between you and me, Chairman Ronan Marcenas also requested a private investigation of the box.

アムロ
「リディ少尉の父親か…。
彼もあれを手に入れようとしているのか?」
Amuro: Ensign Riddhe’s father... Is he trying to get his hands on the box as well?

ブライト
「ビスト財団より先に入手すれば、
優位に立てると考えているようだ」
Bright: It appears he believes he’ll have an advantage over the Vist Foundation if he gets a hold of it before they do.

アムロ
「ロンド・ベル隊を私的に使うつもりか。
いくら息子が俺たちの所にいるとはいえ…」
Amuro: So he’s planning to use Londo Bell for his personal affairs. Even though his own son is here with us...

ブライト
「それとは関係なしに、ビスト財団のやり方を
快く思っていないのだろう。箱を確保できなければ、
破壊しても構わないと言われている」
Bright: Putting that aside, it seems he doesn’t take too kindly to the Vist Foundation’s methods. He’s already said that if the box can’t be secured, then destroying it is acceptable.

アムロ
「まったく…。
皆、怪しげな物に振り回されすぎだ」
Amuro: Really now... There’s way too many secret agendas going on.

ブライト
「その渦中にいるんだよ、俺たちは」
Bright: And we’re in the middle of it all.

アムロ
「まあな」
Amuro: I suppose we are.

ブライト
「ローナン・マーセナス議員は、
我々が南極へ近づけるよう[NERV]に
交渉すると言っていた」
Bright: Chairman Ronan Marcenas said he would negotiate with [NERV] to allow us closer to Antarctica.

ブライト
「それで、ラー・カイラムをチリに降ろして
待機する予定だったんだが…」
Bright: We were planning to land the Ra Cailum in Chile and wait on standby for him to make arrangements...

アムロ
「[ネオ・ジオン]に妨害されて、
日本近海へ降下せざるを得なかったってわけか」
Amuro: But then [Neo Zeon] interfered and you were forced to descend near the waters around Japan.

ブライト
「NERVの本部は日本にある。
極東方面軍の岡司令が彼らとのパイプを持っていれば、
回り道ではなく、近道になるかもしれん」
Bright: NERV’s Headquarters is in Japan. If the Far Eastern Army’s Chief Oka can make contact with them, this detour may turn into a shortcut.

アムロ
「アテになるのか?
NERVは連邦政府直属の特務機関だろう。
メリットなしで軍人の話を聞くとは思えんが」
Amuro: Are you sure we can trust them? I believe NERV is a special organization under direct control of the government. I doubt they’ll listen to someone from the military without a good reason to do so.

ブライト
「獅子王凱が所属している[GGG]も政府直属の
特殊な組織だ。そこから突くという方法もある」
Bright: Guy Shishioh is a member of GGG, another special organization under government control. We should be able to get their attention with him.

アムロ
「蛇の道は蛇、か」
Amuro: Kind of like fighting fire with fire, huh?

ブライト
「いずれにせよ、伊豆基地でラー・カイラムを修理し、
補給を受けなければ、今後の活動がままならん」
Bright: In any case, we won’t be able to keep going without receiving repairs and resupplies for the Ra Cailum at Izu Base.

アムロ
「ボアザン軍も日本以外で散発的に
攻撃を仕掛けているらしいじゃないか。
伊豆基地に着くまで何事もなければいいが…」
Amuro: I’ve heard the Boazanian Army has been attacking sporadically outside of Japan. I just hope nothing happens before we make it to Izu Base...

Meg: You said you met Mineva Zabi before... Is that true?

カミーユ
「ああ、[グリプス戦役]の時にね」
Kamille: Yes, during the [Gryps Conflict].

ユンナ
「ミネバ・ザビは、どういう経緯でこの艦に乗ったの?」
Yunna: How exactly did Mineva Zabi come aboard this ship?

カミーユ
「彼女は[インダストリアル7]に潜入し、
バナージの父親、カーディアス・ビストと
交渉をするつもりだったらしい」
Kamille: Apparently, she had snuck into [Industrial 7] with the intention of negotiating with Cardeas Vist, Banagher’s father.

「ビストって、あのビスト財団か?
連邦政府と強いつながりがあるっていう
巨大財閥の…」
Guy: You mean Vist as in the Vist Foundation? They’re an enormous conglomerate with powerful ties to the government...

カミーユ
「ええ。そして、カーディアス・ビストは
財団の2代目当主です」
Kamille: Right. And Cardeas Vist was the 2nd generation head of the Foundation.

「なら、バナージは半端ねえ御曹司ってわけかい」
Ippei: Then that would make Banagher a ridiculously important nobleman’s heir.

「じゃっどん、苗字はリンクスたい」
Daijiro: But his last name is Links.

カミーユ
「そこは、色々と事情があるみたいだ。
バナージ自身も父親に会うまで、
彼のことを思い出せなかったらしい」
Kamille: It seems like there’s all kinds of baggage when it comes to that. Banagher didn’t even remember it himself until he met his father, as far as I can tell.

健一
「そうなのか…」
Kenichi: I see...

カミーユ
「カーディアス・ビストは、インダストリアル7で
ユニコーンの最終調整を指揮していた」
Kamille: Cardeas Vist directed the final adjustments to the Unicorn at Industrial 7.

カミーユ
「おそらく、彼はミネバに
あれを渡そうとしていたんじゃないかと思うが…」
Kamille: I want to say he was probably planning to give it to Mineva...

凱
「それは、地球連邦やビスト財団にとって
望ましいことじゃないだろう?」
Guy: I take it that’s not something the Earth Federation or the Vist Foundation wanted?

カミーユ
「ええ。多分、それを察知した財団が
連邦軍参謀本部に掛け合い、俺たちロンド・ベル隊を
インダストリアル7へ差し向けたんです」
Kamille: Definitely not. I suspect the Vist Foundation caught wind of it and negotiated with the Federation Forces General Staff Headquarters to dispatch Londo Bell to Industrial 7.

カミーユ
「それで、ネオ・ジオンの部隊と戦闘になって…
部下たちとはぐれたミネバは、ミコットやタクヤたちと
一緒に避難民としてラー・カイラムに乗り…」
Kamille: That’s when a battle broke out with a Neo Zeon unit... Mineva was separated from her subordinates, then ended up coming aboard the Ra Cailum with Micott and Takuya as refugees.

カミーユ
「バナージは父親からユニコーンを託され、
インダストリアル7から脱出して
俺たちと合流したんです」
Kamille: After his father entrusted him with the Unicorn, Banagher escaped Industrial 7 and linked up with us.

健一
「バナージも自分の父さんが開発に関わった機体に
乗っているのか…」
Kenichi: So Banagher is also piloting a machine his own father helped develop...

「その点に関しては、俺も同じだな」
Guy: Sounds like we’re all in the same boat then.

メグ
(あたしも、ね…。
父さん…今頃、どうしているのかしら)
Meg: (It’s the same for me too... Dad... I wonder what you’re doing now?)

Banagher: ...

フォウ
「外で待っていてもしょうがないわ。
あなたも休まなきゃ」
Four: There’s no point just waiting outside. You should get some rest.

アルベルト
「捕虜がいる部屋はここかね?」
Alberto: This is the room where prisoners are held?

バナージ
「…マリーダさんに何の用なんです?」
Banagher: ...Do you need Miss Marida for something?

アルベルト
「ここなんだな。なら…」
Alberto: So it is then. In that case...

(Alberto enters Marida’s room.)

バナージ
「あっ、ちょっと!」
Banagher: Ah—Hold on!

アルベルト
「ふむ、眠っているのか。ちょうどいい。
今の内に生体データを取らせてもらおう」
Alberto: Hm, sleeping, are you? That’s fine. I’ll be taking your biometric data while you’re still here.

バナージ
「生体データって、なんなんです!?
マリーダさんは怪我人ですよ!」
Banagher: Biometric data? What are you talking about!? Miss Marida is injured!

アルベルト
「強化人間なんだから、慣れているだろう。
あの軍医の許可は取ってある。邪魔をするな」
Alberto: She’s a Cyber Newtype, she ought to be used to it. Furthermore, the doctor gave me permission. Now stand aside.

バナージ
「彼女もひとりの人間です! あなたって人は…」
Banagher: She’s a human being too! You’re...!

マリーダ
「…バナージ、大丈夫だ」
Marida: ...It’s fine, Banagher.

アルベルト
「お、起きていたのか…!」
Alberto: Y-you’re awake...!

バナージ
「マリーダさん…!」
Banagher: Miss Marida...!

マリーダ
「気にするな、私は捕虜だ。立場は承知している」
Marida: Don’t worry about it. I’m a prisoner of war. I’m aware of my position.

アルベルト
「聞き分けが良くて助かる。
こちらも好きでやるわけではないのでな」
Alberto: Your compliance is appreciated. This isn’t something I like to do either.

バナージ
「じゃあ、なんでマリーダさんの
生体データを取るんです!?」
Banagher: But why do you want Miss Marida’s biometric data!?

アルベルト
「君に説明する義務はない。
これは大人の問題だ。子供は…あっ、痛い!」
Alberto: I have no obligation to explain that to you. This is an adult matter. Children should—Ow, ow!

フォウ
「それ以上、口を開いたら
この耳をちぎり取ってしまうかもしれない。
なにせ、私は不安定な強化人間だからな」
Four: If you keep running your mouth, I may end up tearing this ear of yours off. I am an unstable Cyber Newtype after all.

アルベルト
「わ、わかった! わかったから、放してくれ!」
Alberto: A-alright! I understand, now let go of me!

フォウ
「私の気が変わらないうちに立ち去ることね」
Four: I suggest you leave before I change my mind.

アルベルト
「な、なんなんだ、まったく! 失敬な!」
Alberto: Unbelievable! Such rudeness!

(Alberto storms off.)

マリーダ
「すまないな」
Marida: Sorry about that.

フォウ
「気にしなくていいわ。
ああいうのは、私自身が好きじゃないから」
Four: Don’t mention it. I don’t like that kind of thing either myself.

マリーダ
「そうか」
Marida: Is that so?

フォウ
「ええ、そうよ」
Four: Yes, it is.

バナージ
(マリーダさんとフォウさん、会ったばかりなのに、
どこか通じ合ってるように見える。
同じような存在だからなのか…?)
Banagher: (Miss Marida and Miss Four only just met, but they’re so open with each other. Is it because they’re similar to one another...?)

バナージ
(もしそうなら、マリーダさんにとって、
いい方向に進むキッカケになってくれれば…)
Banagher: (If that’s how it is, I hope this means Miss Marida will have a chance to move forward in a positive way.)

Audrey: Coming in here alone... You know there are cameras watching.

「しばらくの間、カメラは作動しない。誰も来ない」
Riddhe: The cameras won’t be working for a while. No one else is going to come.

オードリー

Audrey: ...

リディ
「子供の頃、ザビ家の演説ってのを聞いたことがある。
ジーク・ジオン、ジーク・ジオン…
気味の悪い光景だったよ」
Riddhe: When I was a kid, I once heard a Zabi family speech. “Sieg Zeon, Sieg Zeon”... Even then, I knew to be afraid of what I was seeing...

「ギレン・ザビ…君の伯父さんに先導されて、
何千人もの人間が一緒になって叫んでた」

「今まで私が捕まらずにいたわけ…
ネオ・ジオンが再び地球圏に拠点を得て、
軍備を整えられたわけ…何故だとお思いですか」
Audrey: I’ve remained captured all this time... Long enough for Neo Zeon to once again gain a military foothold in the Earth sphere... Why do you think that is?

リディ
「…出来レースだって言うのか?」
Riddhe: ...You’re saying this was all staged?

オードリー
「インダストリアル7での一件も、

失った人たちには許し難いこと…」

「でも、[スペースノイド]はそうした理不尽に慣れている」
Audrey: Of course, [Spacenoids] are accustomed to dealing with this kind of injustice.

連邦は私たちの存在を容認してきた。
これまでも…」

「ラプラスの箱が、そのバランスを崩した…?」
Riddhe: And Laplace’s Box is threatening to destroy that balance...?

オードリー
「連邦にはネオ・ジオンとの関係を
清算しようとする動きがあるのかもしれない」
Audrey: It is possible motions are in place for the Federation to resolve its relationship with Neo Zeon.

オードリー
「だからこそ、ビスト財団は門外不出の箱に
手を付けたのだとも…」
Audrey: That’s most likely why the Vist Foundation doesn’t want the box to fall out of their hands.

オードリー
「でも、その一方でボアザン軍のような
人類共通の敵が現れても、連邦政府や
ネオ・ジオンはその姿勢を改めない」
Audrey: But, on the other hand, the Federation and Neo Zeon have not changed their stances even when a common enemy to humanity like the Boazanian army has appeared.

リディ
「連邦軍が奴らと戦えばいいと思っているのさ」
Riddhe: You believe the Federation army should be fighting them instead.

Audrey: Do you think so as well?

リディ
「俺は自分をパイロットだと規定してきた。
モビルスーツを動かして、与えられた任務を確実に
こなすのが仕事で…他のことを考える必要はない」
Riddhe: I’ve always considered myself a pilot. To operate a mobile suit and ensure the success of my duties... There was no reason to think about anything else.

「たまに不正が起こっても、自分で自分を正す力が
連邦政府にはあるって…」
Riddhe: While the occasional injustice may occur, I believed the Federation had the power to correct itself...

見ないように、考えないようにしていたんだ。
家にいる時から、ずっと…」

「わかります、リディ・マーセナス少尉。

死亡したリカルド・マーセナスの末裔…」
Audrey: Marcenas, scion of Ricardo Marcenas, the first Prime Minister of the Earth Federation, who died in the [Laplace Incident]...

Audrey: He is another person whose fate is tied to Laplace’s Box.

いますか?」
Bright: The ship will receive repairs and supplies once we reach Izu Base. Has the Foundation said anything about what will happen after that?

アルベルト
「次の目的地へ到達できる手段を考えてみると…」
Alberto: They’re coming up with some means of allowing you to reach the next destination...

ブライト
「そうですか。では、なんらかの通達があるまで、
我々は伊豆基地に滞在しますが、よろしいか?」
Bright: I see. Then until we receive further notification, we’ll remain at Izu Base. Is that acceptable?

アルベルト
「あ、ああ」
Alberto: Y-yes.

ダグザ
「自分の方からも質問があります」
Daguza: I have a question for you myself.

アルベルト
「何です?」
Alberto: What is it?

ダグザ
「前回の戦闘で、あなたはシャア・アズナブルの
モビルスーツを一目見て、機体名を言い当てた。
その理由をお聞かせ願いたい」
Daguza: During the last battle, you were able to correctly guess the name of Char Aznable’s mobile suit at a glance. I’d like to hear your reason for that.

アルベルト
「そ、それは…」
Alberto: Th-that’s...

(A notification pings on the bridge.)

トーレス
「艦長、ビッグファルコン基地から緊急通信です!」
Torres: Captain, emergency communication from the Big Falcon Base!

ブライト
「繋いでくれ」
Bright: Put them through.

浜口博士
「ビッグファルコンの浜口です。
現在、当基地はボアザン星人の襲撃を受けています」
Dr. Hamaguchi: This is Hamaguchi, from Big Falcon. Our base is currently under attack by the Bozanians.

ブライト
「極東方面軍の対応は?」
Bright: How is the Far Eastern Army responding?

浜口博士
「モビルスーツ部隊を急行させるとのことですが、
あなた方が最も近くにいる戦力なのです。
申し訳ありませんが、救援をお願いできませんか?」
Dr. Hamaguchi: They should be dispatching a squadron of mobile suits as soon as possible, but your force is the closest. I apologize, but may I request your assistance?

ブライト
「…わかりました。ただちにそちらへ向かいます」
Bright: ...Understood. We’ll make our way there at once.

アルベルト
「艦長!」
Alberto: Captain!

ブライト
「ビッグファルコンはボルテスチームの本拠地です。
看過するわけにはいきません」
Bright: Big Falcon is the headquarters of the Voltes team. We can’t simply overlook this.

アルベルト
「助けに行っている余裕があるのかね!?」
Alberto: Can you really afford to go and help them now!?

「ブライト艦長、こちらにも浜口博士から
連絡がありました! 俺たちだけでも先に
ビッグファルコンへ行かせてください!」
Kenichi: Captain Bright, Dr. Hamaguchi contacted us too! Please let us go to Big Falcon, even if it’s just us!

ブライト
「逸る気持ちはわかるが、単独では危険だ」
Bright: I can understand your impatience, but it’s dangerous to go alone.

健一
「ですが、今すぐ出撃できるのは俺たちだけです!」
Kenichi: But we’re the only one’s ready to launch right now!

ブライト
「…トーレス、他の機体は?」
Bright: ...Torres, what’s the status of the other machines?

トーレス
「どれも応急修理中、または弾薬補給中です」
Torres: All of them are in the middle or repairs and ammo replenishment, sir.

「ボルテスVならば、空を飛んで
まっすぐビッグファルコンへ行けます!」
Kenichi: With Voltes V, we can fly straight to Big Falcon!

「わかった。出撃を許可する。
くれぐれも無茶をするなよ」
Bright: Alright. You have permission to launch. Just don’t do anything reckless.

Daijiro: What’s wrong, Hiyoshi?

「な、なんか嫌な予感がするんだ…。

Hiyoshi: I-I’ve just got this bad feeling... Are mother and the others going to be okay...?

「ビッグファルコンには迎撃設備がある。
母さんや浜口博士たちを信じるんだ」
Kenichi: Big Falcon has defensive installations. Believe in mother, Dr. Hamaguchi, and the others.

「そ、そうだね」
Hiyoshi: Y-you’re right...

「よし! ボルテスチーム、出撃だ!」
Kenichi: Okay! Voltes Team, time to sortie!

Ippei: Yeah, let’s hurry!

「また敵が現れました!」
Mitsuyo: The enemy are still coming!

浜口博士
「うぬっ、これ以上は迎撃システムが!」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Ngh, this is more than our interception system can handle!

(Big Falcon Base takes a direct hit.)

光代
「ああうっ!!」
