Discord, currently the largest gaming communication tool out there, recently dropped one of their top most user-requested features; Server Folders. The release was followed after Discord tweeted "if enough people say please we drop server folders tomorrow", and they kept their promise. The feature allows users to hold and drag servers on top of each other, creating a folder. You can organise your sidebar by colours, affiliations or disregard notifications from a specific grouping. It's small and simple, yet effective.

Post Malone Confirms That His New Album is Finished

Post Malone fans may or may not have been waiting for the time, but it's finally here: Post Malone has finished his new album recently. He said this in a festival in Cheyenne, Wyoming: “I’ve got some pretty awesome news, and the reason my voice is kinda fucked is because I was in the studio for the last three days and we just finished up the new album, and I think it’s gonna be pretty god damn out of sight.”

Earlier this month, Post Malone dropped ‘Goodbyes’, his new collaboration with Young Thug, alongside a video. ‘Goodbyes’ is a follow-up/sequel to Post Malone’s previously released single, ‘Wow’, which arrived in December. Following on from last year’s album called ‘beerbongs & bentleys’, Post Malone has not yet revealed a release date for the new album.

QNAP Warns Customers of 'eCh0raix' Ransomware

While having all of your PCs information encrypted behind a crazy paywall is something a PC enthusiast fears, vigilance, regular system back-ups, robust security software, and smart internet usage can completely ignore anything any ransomware could do. However, the fear is still present. QNAP, a Taiwan-based network-attached storage vendor, told consumers to start using strong passwords and have the latest version of its QTS firmware installed. This was all in response to Anomali's announcement of the eCh0raix Ransomware on July 10th of this year.

Ever since the "WannaCry" ransomware attack that occurred on May 2017, the internet has stayed aware of any future mass ransomware attack. However, it has been revealed by the IT security firm Anomali that new ransomware, named eCh0raix, has appeared. According to the IT security firm, eCh0raix targeted specific accessible NAS from QNAP which are not located in Belarus, Ukraine, or Russia. This could be due to because the attacker(s) operate in one or more of those countries.

After the public announcement of the discovery of eCh0raix, QNAP published a security recommendatory for its NAS customers. This warned the consumers about the dangers this could pose if they were to be infected. QNAP has also listed several "recommendations" for uninfluenced users to prevent ransomware infections.

It has been about two weeks since the announcement has been posted about the potential risk of the eCh0raix ransomware. There has not been a solution to the ransomware attacks posted with an update to the advisory put out by QNAP, so it is assumed that one is still in the making.

1400 Protestors Arrested in Moscow

After a violent crackdown in central Moscow on Saturday, nearly 1400 protestors were detained with some beaten. Following the exclusion of opposition candidates from the ballot for the Moscow city council, many took their dissent to the streets. The city council, hosting 45 seats, is responsible for a large municipal budget. It is controlled currently by the pro-Kremlin United Russia party, but on the September 8th vote, all of its seats are up for grabs. Police had also stormed television stations broadcasting the protests to make arrests and bring them in for questioning, and still, there is no information on what charges any of the detainees face.

The protests Saturday began in the area of the mayor’s office before regrouping to a square nearly a kilometer away. During this time, police wrestled with protestors, charged into the crowd with raised batons, and targeted the most prominent figures of the protest for arrest. Still, government opposition began days before the rally even occurred. Along with mostly young demonstrators, several activists, numbering at least 26 from OVD-Info, who wanted to run for city council were detained. Notably, opposition leader Alexei Navalny was sentenced Wednesday to 30 days in jail for calling for an unauthorized protest. The protestors, said to number around 3500 from police count but leaning more towards 8000 from aeriel footage, shouted slogans such as “Russia will be free!” and “We love Russia, they love money!” in response to government corruption. Bruised and bloody, they continued the rally for 7 hours before dispersing.

The US Embassy in Moscow on Sunday called the violent crackdown a “use of disproportionate police force”, and the Russian presidential human rights council said there were numerous concerns about police brutality. Putin, who has been out of Moscow during this time, made no comment and even led Russia’s first major naval parade in years on Sunday. To some, the lack of acknowledgement towards the event on Putin’s part resonates badly. Nonetheless, the large number of detentions sets a record for most arrests made at a rally in Moscow in an entire decade.

While most of the detainees have been released, some still remain in police custody for questioning.
