A group of eccentric assassins are fed up with Gunther, the world&#39;s greatest hitman, and decide to kill him, but their plan turns into a series of bungled encounters as Gunther seems to always be one step ahead.
Blake (Taran Killam) is a hit man who is obsessed with killing Gunther, the world&#39;s greatest hit man so he can have the bragging rights as being the best. He assembles a team of unlikely hit men to do the job, people who are more inept than anything. We come to find out that for Blake, this is something more personal.<br/><br/>The film is done documentary style. It makes fun of action and assassin films. Unlike most of you, I watched the film cold, not even knowing Arnold was connected to the film. This made my surprise very enjoyable. Good dialogue and characters.<br/><br/>Guide: F-word. Killing Gunther was a film that i was waiting for like crazy because of the great Arnold Schwarzenegger and although i did enjoy some stuff from the movie i still found it disappointing that the marketing team tried to make money from selling this film as a Schwarzenegger movie when in reality it&#39;s more of a cameo and the real stars are Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan. The acting is mediocre nothing great except Schwarzenegger, some effects look horrendous like the cgi snake and some gags feel like they never end for example the stuff with Ashley got on my nerves or Jewel&#39;s dad chasing Donnie it&#39;s literally the kind of humor that a 10-year old would write. Now on the good side of things as i said Schwarzenegger is incredible the fight scene in his house with Killam where he beat the sh*t out of him was fantastic, his singing was very funny and some of his old one liners like &quot;Trust Me&quot;, &quot;Terminated&quot; and &quot;Kill me i&#39;m here&quot; reminded me the good old days of Terminator 2 and Predator plus i liked the whole documentary stuff from both sides it was a fresh idea on it&#39;s own way and plus the action wasn&#39;t that bad to be honest with you and some jokes (not all of them) were good. Now Killing Gunther is definitely not Schwarzenegger&#39;s best film and i don&#39;t see anyone actually liking it that much so far and i&#39;m not surprised it tried to sell itself as a Schwarzenegger vehicle and both him and Cobie Smulders who are both known from films such as The Terminator and Avengers they get the least amount of screen time just to get replaced by a bunch of retards. Overall the movie wasn&#39;t as bad as i expected it but it could have been way better and sometimes a bit more serious with better jokes like Johnny English and less of a Saturday Night Skit and if you really wanna see a better Arnold movie than this? Might i suggest a few? Like Aftermath and Maggie 2 really great and moving dramas or even better The Last Stand and Escape Plan for action movie buffs, Killing Gunther gets a solid 6 out of 10 from me.
Killing Gunther is an astonishingly unfunny film considering the level of sheer comedic talent involved in it. Its lack of energy or character development keeps the film from ever finding its groove.
