- I want to test out these strats for the next couple days/weeks and get an idea of how effective they are. Expect finished runs (or at least trying), not just PB attempts (but certainly an attempt at PB, if not WR as well, during the runs)
- Also as a quick note - apology about all the salt lately. Look, complaining about luck is stupid, I know this. My luck seriously isn't that bad either lately. I think what's been bad is my mindset, under-estimation of what needs to be in the deck, and general arrogance lately and impatience and frustration. I consider myself very capable in this game (being a skilled player in this game anymore means much more than lucky dice rolling), but my results have shown quite the opposite lately. I think I need to tweak my playstyle a bit.
- Strat changes:
- Farm 1 will now consist of Villager 1 B/C/D.
- Farm 2 will start as normal - basically Isis for dragons; from there, branching off to A-TECing, as many other runners have gone
- to lately. However, my target will be Meadow Mage. (Meaning farming for a trap may have to occur if Isis doesn't spread wide.)
- Bakura B/C/D may conditionally also be done.
- Reasons:
- Villager 1 can give Dark-piercing Light at a 35 among some other drops like Mountain or Fake Trap.
- Meadow Mage can drop Horn of Light, Dark Hole, and Spellbinding Circle all at 64, among some others.
- Bakura drops Umi at 64 and Dark-Piercing Light at 32.
- → Spellbinding Circle + Spellbinding Circle = Shadow Spell
- → Shadow Spell + Dark-Piercing Light = Swords of Revealing Light
- so, Spellbinding Circle + Spellbinding Circle + Dark-Piercing Light = Swords of Revealing Light
- Imo, using a Swords at any time in the Final 6 would just about guarandamntee a victory, assuming you haven't already used Raigeki. But the strat isn't totally revolved around Swords. That would be crazy talk - having to rely on winning 2 or more Spellbinding Circles and 1 or more Dark-Piercing Lights, let alone draw them all together in the same hand. But that's just one nice possibility. Otherwise, you got the 64 drop of an equip for THTD (Horn of Light), as well as a Dark Hole, which pretty much kicks the same ass as Raigeki in the Final 6. In addition, Horn of the Unicorn (also a 64) works on Skull Knight and Summoned Skull, so it may not necessarily go to waste if I win it. Dark-Piercing Light can also be fused with Castle of Dark Illusions (a 72 on Mage Soldier S/A POW) to make Bright Castle. There are some interesting possibilities...
- Who knows. It's probably going to be a terrible, terrible bust. But I may find that things work with some decent level of consistency with these strats. If I can sub the 8 or 10 a few times then I'll consider it somewhat viable. I guess!
