  55. Africa:
  56. African Union:
  57. After over a century of economic and military struggles in the wake of colonial abandonment, vast reserves of natural resources and emergent economic powers taking leadership roles catapulted the African Union into unforeseen wealth and power. At the same time political influence expanded massively due to their position in supplying materials for the CelCom program. Sparse existing development allowed the African Union to advise the most widespread testing and adapting of new technologies and approaches to colonization within their borders, providing African scholars with resources, institutions, and control cases so that they could study and develop solutions for life and technology in strictly post-CelCom societies, forming a basis of understanding upon which all orbiting and planetary colonies were constructed.
  58. Arab Maghreb Union
  59. ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States)
  60. ECCAS (Economic Community of Central African States)
  61. SADC (South African Development Community)
  62. IGAD (Intergovernmental Authority on Development)
  63.
  64. The Americas:
  65. Organization of American States:
  66. A pan-American conference including North America, South America, and the Caribbean.
  67. North America:
  68. Since the second World War, North America
  69. NAFTA: North American Free Trade Agreement. Originally a trade agreement between Canada, Mexico, and the US, NAFTA was transformed by decades of heightened involvement between member states in one another’s economic, criminal, and environmental affairs. The bond between NAFTA members is rooted in the aid efforts following The Day 29 Storm and cemented by mutual feverish rocket and aeronautic research, as well as conversion of existing infrastructure, urban centers, and industry into more efficient, resilient, and renewable incarnations. Relaxed immigration policies between members, exceptionally trained military forces, and humanity’s most powerful economic partnership are all byproducts of NAFTA.
  70. SICA: Sistema de la Integración CentroAmericana. In the wake of the civil wars plaguing Central America in the mid and late 20th century, SICA was formed to secure regional peace and political freedom, and to support economic development within member nations. Experiencing rapid growth in support and observer membership after its foundation, SICA cooperation allowed Central America’s emergence as leaders in green technology implementation due to the pioneering work of member Costa Rica, and in recognition of their efforts SICA members were offered generous grants on their cosmic endeavors, allowing them to spread beyond earth swiftly despite a small initial program.
  71. CARICOM: Caribbean Community. Established in 1973, CARICOM sought to promote integration, cooperation, and growth between the small island nations of the Caribbean. Following Hurricane Calypso, CARICOM both proposed drastic environmental measures to the UN and leveraged foreign interest to study and develop countermeasures to protect against serious climatic issues. APSI noticed their efforts and invested as partners, funding CARICOM’s research and providing them with space travel technology in return for enhanced shelter designs that would be applied to the earliest planetary colonies.
  72. South America:
  73. UNASUR: Unión de Naciones Suramericanas. Commanding enormous industries in oil, manufacturing, and agriculture, UNASUR was just stepping into the limelight when The Day 29 Storm struck. Facing Pan-American opposition to dirty industry as disasters continued, UNASUR launched a radical campaign to build upon existing green groundwork of member Brazil. Putting to use their manufacturing centers and agricultural skill, UNASUR mastered the art of green architecture as well as vertical and hydroponic farms. Their contributions of huge food quantities to some of CelCom’s earliest expeditions only further established UNASUR as a lasting cooperative.
  74. MERCOSUR or MERCOSUL: Mercado Común del Sur or Mercado Comum do Sul.
  75. Thorium is its most notable resource, but manufacturing and agriculture is also significant.
  76. Andean Community: Long recognized as a hotspot for astronomical observations, also has petroleum, manufacturing, agriculture, and mining in Peru specifically.
  77. Europe:
  78.
  79. Council of Europe:
  80. EU: European Union. Conqueror of the globe for centuries, Europe’s state was an awkward one following the end of the colonial era. Its harmony threatened for years by financial ruin of members and political bickering, the Day 29 Storm and the disasters following were blessings in disguise for the EU, bringing its members back together towards a common goal, rekindling an academic renaissance in its legacy universities and facilities in physics and mathematics as humanity turned to the stars. Through landmark metaphysical discoveries and designing the first faster than light engine, the EU not only saw itself returning to, but surpassing its former glory.
  81. EFTA: European Free Trade Union. Though small in numbers and landmass, the EFTA was colossal in terms of economic and social policy when climactic catastrophe befell earth. As foreign aid cycled the globe and the world’s nations came together, EFTA’s prowess did not go unnoticed as they weathered the storms with a sense of what some deigned grace. When CelCom first launched, EFTA-elected economic and social advisors dominated the proceedings, easing humanity into the cosmic era with diligence, an effort recognized to this day.

  83. CISCO (Commonwealth of Independent States): Almost immediately following the downfall of the Soviet Union
  84. ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization): Massive oil and petrol reserves, some radioactive material, very wealthy aristocrats
