Distance

Distance.



Too far to see is too far for me.

The distance between does nothing to soothe me.

I think of our talks. And the pictures we share.

The constant messaging,  and the dreams of being together.

And I smile.

The delightful feeling of being with you mentally.

But the physical longing takes over...and I want you even more.

The longing to touch you,  to feel you.

To hold you in my arms and sway with you.

The  intimacy I long for,  to share with you.

The distance makes that longing harder.

The land and sea placed as obstacles between us. Even time separates us.

Knowing that I am unable to be with you when I want.

Unable to kiss you,  hug you,  make love to you.

That distance frustrates me.

So I do all that one can do.

I close my eyes,  let my thoughts drift to you.

And I dream. Awake or asleep. I dream.

Of you.

And in those dreams,  the distance is gone.

You are here with me,  and I can touch you,  feel you.

You are beautiful,  and when I smile,  you smile with me.

And my world is then lit with the glow of happiness.

Because in my dreams, there is no distance.

There is only you, and me....

Together... As it should be.
