  2. DragoToday at 7:31 PM
  3. The interview will be conducted in two parts. The first half deals with some common and uncommon situations you might find yourself in. Think of it as roleplaying. The second part is some ooc questions. If you have questions about any questions you can ask and if you do noty feel comfterble answering a question or want it off the record you are 100% able to tell me, okie?
  4. rock collecting catToday at 7:31 PM
  5. that's cool.
  6. DragoToday at 7:33 PM
  7. Im like 10000% sure you know how these all work and such but, just incase these are the powers you have access to.
  8.
  9. 1. Access to ingame logs. This includes ALL attack logs. ALL local and antagonist ooc, including deadchat and admin pm’s. You can also send your own admin pms (bwoink)
  10. 2. The ability to wind players (admin freeze them).
  11. 3. The ability to boot players of a lower rank (regular players basically).
  12. 4. The ability to temporarily ban and temporarily job ban players. Self explanatory.
  13. 5. The ability to apply NOTES to a players’ ckey. This is a system staff use to keep tabs on players behavior and administrative action taken. It’s good practice to note what you’ve talked to a player about. You don’t need to note EVERYTHING. If they didn’t do anything wrong, a note isn’t required.
  14. 6. The ability to warn players. This is like a note, but visible to the players and requires them to acknowledge the warning.
  15. 7. The ability to admin-ghost (like observing, but you can re-enter your body)
  16. 8. Lastly, the ability to use modchat, where you can speak with other moderators and admins about stuff.
  17. Any questions about the powers and how they function, or in general, before we begin?
  18. rock collecting catToday at 7:34 PM
  19. ye.
  20. i mean. no. no questions.
  21. DragoToday at 7:35 PM
  22. Alright, First question
  23. You are sitting in the lobby during dead hour, you notice that not many players are currently on at the time, and you are the only staff on. The round is a Cultist round, and a series of ahelps from cultists appear, all of them claiming a lone security cadet has murdered all of them about twenty minutes into the round. How do you proceed?
  24. rock collecting catToday at 7:37 PM
  25. jump in as a ghost and while asking them a few questions for clarification. ghost-follow the officer.
  26. DragoToday at 7:38 PM
  27. What questions do you ask?
  28. rock collecting catToday at 7:40 PM
  29. i thhhiink i would ask them how it started. how the officer started, rather, and what actions the cult has been taking up to that point in regards to. y'know. cult stuff.
  30. DragoToday at 7:42 PM
  31. The cult members claim they were setting up a temple in maint and the officer stumbled upon them and begin to assault them, the cult had been mostly stealthy for the most part, the cult members themself beign new to the game wghile the cadet appears to be a community member who has been around
  32. rock collecting catToday at 7:43 PM
  33. been around, like, a regular? been here for a couple of weeks, or a month?
  34. DragoToday at 7:43 PM
  35. Like around for a year or so
  36. rock collecting catToday at 7:45 PM
  37. i ping the officer with a focus on improper escelation during the ahelp. if they've been around here for a year, they should definitely know better by now. even if they're new to security.
  38. DragoToday at 7:46 PM
  39. "But they posed a clear threat to the small crew by having such numbers working in the shadows" he replys
  40. rock collecting catToday at 7:50 PM
  41. that's not a good reason. you don't immediately anniliate people because they pose a threat, because it is again, improper escalation of conflict, and not only that, but utterly unbelievable in terms of roleplay. you are a cadet, and a single person. the odds were clearly against your character in this situation. i understand that you are alone on the station, and you may have felt that you had little choice, but this was by no means a sane choice.
  42. DragoToday at 7:51 PM
  43. They appear to drop it after this, how do you resolve the issue punishment wise, if at all
  44. rock collecting catToday at 7:52 PM
  45. i think i would sit them with a warning. they essentially ruined the round for a lot of people, but i think any sort of ban would be coming down a bit hard, especially if they're playing a cadet, i think they do intentionally play it as a learning position.
  46. DragoToday at 7:52 PM
  47. Alrightie, anything else?
  48. rock collecting catToday at 7:53 PM
  49. inform the cultists that ahelped that the issue was dealt with, but apologise that there isn't a whole lot i can do for the round.
  50. ..actually, i do have one idea, but it's an admin perms solution.
  51. DragoToday at 7:54 PM
  52. Well even if you dont have the power, would be intrested in hearing as its problem solving skills
  53. rock collecting catToday at 7:55 PM
  54. rejuv one of the cultists and give them, like, twenty health left, just enough to walk away from the scene and call for help. i think it would be thematically satisfying.
  55. DragoToday at 7:56 PM
  56. Intresting. Anything else to add onto thius?
  57. rock collecting catToday at 7:56 PM
  58. i think that's it.
  59. DragoToday at 7:58 PM
  60. Alright, a moment
  61. You get an ahelp regarding a player angry that something has been happening in the community, they go on a rant in this ahelp about how the admins are corrupt, and the moderators are just helping out their bosses, glossing over the fact that x is happening in the community, overall they are being very aggressive, and have been openly rude about certain staff members, how do you proceed?
  62. rock collecting catToday at 8:04 PM
  63. i tell them that this is not something that can be solved in ahelps, as it may be a long term issue. point them at the forums.
  64. probably also bring it up with the other staff in the little discord channel.
  65. DragoToday at 8:05 PM
  66. They reply with the fact that the forums do nothing but give staff conterol over differing opinions, they move their discussion to ooc, bringing the issue up their, how do you react?
  67. rock collecting catToday at 8:07 PM
  68. i say that the forums are public and available where anyone with an account can post, and that is where issues of this nature go. warn them (like, tell them, not Official Notes Warning) not to do this in ooc, as it's not the place.
  69. DragoToday at 8:08 PM
  70. "Why try and hide me from making a public discission if you have done nothing wrong" he posts in ooc
  71. rock collecting catToday at 8:08 PM
  72. because everything has a place.
  73. DragoToday at 8:09 PM
  74. He seems to calm down abit from this, dropping it
  75. (Tell me when ur back)
  76. rock collecting catToday at 8:17 PM
  77. that's good! also am back.
  78. DragoToday at 8:19 PM
  79. So, normaly I go through abit of questions but I can tell you still have a grasp on how to handle these situations so if you dont mind, care to move onto the next portion?
  80. rock collecting catToday at 8:19 PM
  81. sure thing.
  82. DragoToday at 8:21 PM
  83. So to go over some feedback from your application, going to bring some quotes from it and I would like to get your input or thoughts on them if thats ok with you?
  84. rock collecting catToday at 8:21 PM
  85. go for it!
  86. DragoToday at 8:21 PM
  87. "I remember a point in dsay a while ago where you made a comment about people who play pro-ATLAS anti-Xeno characters having problems IRL. The tone of these messages did not imply you were joking.
  88.
  89. I remember recently when a tonne of people were roasting Nikov in OOC, and rejoiced when one of his friends got sick of it and left. You were talked to about this at the time. I think that was disgusting behaviour.
  90.
  91. NursieKitty: i've never made the pretense of liking or being nice to nikov and i'm not gonna start
  92.
  93. I do not like your general demeanour, and I believe you are right when you say you can get angry very quickly. For an online game, this is very concerning for someone who's meant to be in an administrative position. Direct, personal insults or issues are one thing, but if you find yourself getting angry (not just frustrated) at the game with any degree of frequency, that's concerning to me."
  94.
  95.
  96. What could you say or whats your thoughts on the comments of demeanor or attitude that was brought up here, not that I believe their is this issue but in response to Orinas here aswell as the comments about the character if you can explain
  97.
  98. rock collecting catToday at 8:23 PM
  99. the first bit is a complicated issue. i'm a glutton for conflict in roleplay, it's why i play characters like zuhzir and oceoiyl who are bound to turn heads. and there are plenty of people who can play a racist/speciesist on the server and like.. not be weird about it. and i should probably actually talk to orn about this some day
  100. but there's a different type too.
  101. like, there's the type who post in ooc about how much they hate nonhuman characters, and only play racist humans, say that we should be a human only server. like a consistant thing.
  102. that's where it gets weird for me. that's where it starts to become "you may have something in your brain that you may want to analyze."
  103. i don't.. really have anything to say about the nikov incident. it's pretty well known that i can't stand the dude, and when i was on the staff team i usually either gave it to other people due to my fear of being biased or i dealt with it and then asked for input because i don't want to be that admin.
  104. may have not been entirely true where i said "i can't pretend to be nice to people" because i was born in the south and that's a skill we develop in childhood.
  105. orn is right about my anger. i don't think it's a new thing, i just think it's something that i know a little more about now. i can't say with any confidence that i've improved, because i'm me, but i sure hope i haven't gotten worse. i did have an issue recently where i had to take a break for a few minutes and came back calm and everything is great, so maybe that's a good sign? it's just something i have to keep in mind forever.
  106. is there anything you'd like me to elaborate on?
  107.
  108.
  109. DragoToday at 8:33 PM
  110. Alright. Onto a comment Matt made which was
  111.
  112.
  113. "You were pretty passive aggressive back when I was staff with you. It was easy to tell that you were burning out, and it wasn't pleasant."
  114.
  115.
  116. Its understood that staff get burnt out due to the general nature of the job, if you feel stressed, what are some things you would reply with to matt on how you can handle the stress to avoid burnout?
  117. rock collecting catToday at 8:35 PM
  118. i didn't know i was being passive aggressive. i really, really need someone to come tell me if that happens and i don't realize it. abo was always pretty good about stuff like that, but actually i think i'm going to go apologise to matt after this. because i really, really don't want to be that person.
  119. DragoToday at 8:35 PM
  120. I really like that answer. Its always ok to ask each other for help as we are a team!
  121. rock collecting catToday at 8:36 PM
  122. yeah! exactly! i think i posted somewhere some time about communication always being underrated always. probably.
  123. DragoToday at 8:37 PM
  124. Mhmm
  125. I dont think I really have anymore questions to ask so I guess we can conclude this interview.
