Alexithymiaa: -Steph stood in front of the recording microphone she had set up, her brand new custom in-ears fit snuggly in her ears. She had the music blasting pretty loud in an attempt to simulate what it would sound like on stage, her face leaned in close to the microphone so she could sing into it and hear it through the play back in her ears. Covet: Felix had mad himself a plate of pizza rolls and was carrying them in one hand and holding Nugget in the other arm as he came up stairs. He had a water bottle held in his mouth doing some serious multi tasking skills. Once he got to the top he made his way over to the bunny bean bag and set Nugget down then plopped into the seat himself, without spilling his food. He then looked over at Steph while she was singing because he always enjoyed her singing.
Alexithymiaa: -Seeing Felix coming up the stairs, she stopped singing given the lyrics of the song, pulling one of the custom pieces out of her ear and reaching over to turn the music off. She spun around to look at him with his plate and the puppy, letting the ear piece hang from her neck. "Oh, hey. I didnt hear you downstairs."-
Covet: "Yeah I snuck in, not to long ago. Heard you up here, and figured I'd get myself something to eat and let Nugget out. Penny's still out there, something had her attention on the other side of the fence, and she just kept running back and forth along it. So I told her fine, she can come in when we go to bed. It's pretty nice out there." He told her then went to stick a pizza roll in his mouth, whole... like an idiot because that shit's hot, and started to do that weird inhale blow thing with it still in his mouth.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, just trying to get used to the new in-ears. They feel really weird and are incredibly noise cancelling." She pulled the other one out of her ear and hung them over the top of the microphone, walking over to sit down on the floor next to Nugget for pets. "You know if whatever it is, is still out there, we're going to have to drag her back in by the time we go to bed."-
Covet: "Oh cool. You like them?" Felix asked her, then nodded his head, "I know. I figured we'd deal with that when we got there." Felix said with a laugh finally getting the pizza roll down. He watched as Nugget waddled over to chill by Steph, giving a sleepy puppy yawn. "Awww....he's so tired."
Alexithymiaa: -She put her arms out to pull the puppy into her lap, rubbing her fingers over his head. "Not really. Not yet at least. I've been trying to resist the urge to pull them out which kind of defeats the purpose of practicing with them in." She looked into Nugget's face, leaning in close to boop his nose with hers. "He's always tired. He sleeps about as much as the cats."-
Covet: "Are they at least comfortable where they are custom fitted?" He asked. "I remember my first hearing aids they were the most uncomfortable things. The only cool part about them was I could pick the colors of them." He looked at Nugget, "He's a baby he's allowed to sleep that much, and he's offended that you lump him in with the cats."
Alexithymiaa: "Sort of. I mean they fit, if that's what you're asking. They just feel really full in my ears which feels weird." She paused, her eyes shifting to the hearing aid on his ear. "Did you get used to it?" She asked before diverting her eyes to look down at Nugget, covering his ears with her hands. "Shhhhh. He's fine."-
Covet: "This one is different, because it actually attaches to a device that's implanted in my head, connected by a magnet. Then there's this tube that pics up the sounds I would hear normally and helps my brain translate that. With the old ones, that didn't work all that well, I eventually got used to them, they hurt like a bitch if I fell asleep with them in." He said to her while eating his pizza rolls
Alexithymiaa: "Oh." She pursed her lips, her eyes examining the hearing aid on the side of his head. "That sounds incredibly complicated." She reached her hand out to run her fingers through his hair, smoothing it down. "When did you end up doing that? Like... how old were you?"-
Covet: "I got the implant put in shortly after my sperm donor left. Mom couldn't afford it, but the state paid for it with some sort of Families in crisis grant." Felix told her, "It's a little complicated, but not so much. The magnet keeps everything in place, here." He said pointing to the spot, "And if it's not attached, I can't actually hear anything. They wanted to give me one for each ear but decided against it, since I'll never be able to hear out of the other. I was born without part of my inner ear. Seb thinks he stole it in the womb." Felix said with a laugh.
Alexithymiaa: "Does this stem back to your extreme distaste for your brother?" She said with a laugh, fluffing his hair a bit more because nice hair. "So essentially you went in for some pretty serious surgery at a young age. You must have been terrified. I had my ACL surgery a couple years ago and that's fairly routine and I was insanely nervous for that."-
Covet: "Maybe... I'd never thought of it like that. Extreme is a little dramatic. It's not THAT bad. It's healthy sibling rivalry. Believe it or not we do get along better than we let on to everyone else. But you all will never see that. We made a pact." Felix said with a very serious look on his face. "Not really, it all seemed pretty cool. It hurt a lot afterwords, dealing with the drain and the stitches, but the build up to it all, I kind of felt like I was in space or some scifi movie and they were making me into a cyborg. Cause.. really I kind of am when you think about it."
Alexithymiaa: "Uhuh, that's why you essentially cringe everytime I mention him coming to visit or anything, right?" She said with a roll of her eyes. She tipped her head to the side, listening to him talk before reaching her hand out to grab his chin, turning his face to look at her. "You are officially the only person who could turn this into a badass super power. You know that, right?"-
Covet: "It's all an act, sort of. He totally cramps my style." Felix said then rolled his eyes at her as she held his face, "Not that Cyborg. Like, terminator style cyborg. They weren't heroes, they were villains. I think?"
Alexithymiaa: "I don't care, you're a walking Victor Stone and I'm latching onto this forever. Just accept it." She smiled at him, setting Nugget down on the floor next to her and taking the plate from him to set it aside as well. She climbed up onto his lap, sitting down and proceeding to toy with his hair. "Everyone needs a superhero identity and it's only suiting yours would be in a group under the leadership of mine." She beamed widely at him, unable to hide her amusement.-
Covet: "Oh you think so huh?" He asked her raising an eyebrow. " I feel like I am seriously ill equiped to have this debate with you. I know jack shit about superheroes. So I'll let you be amused... this time." He said then pulled her in for a kiss and the making out possible sex things on the bunny beanbag. How coincidental.
