We Bare a Bear Family

Chapter 1 – Kat's discovery

Kat and Rachel were both in the bathroom as they leaned over the sink to see Kat's results.

Positive.

"K-Kat, you're pregnant!" Rachel screamed excitedly because she and Kat were the only one in the cave since The Bears and Anna were out grocery shopping. Kat slowly began to smile.

"OMG, I can't believe!" Kat said with excitement, until she frowned, "oh, but what if Grizz doesn't take it lightly? What if he leaves me and I become a widow? What if-?" Kat began to asked frantically until Rachel just grabbed both her shoulders.

"Kat, that won't happen. You know Grizz loves his wife too much to do that—and he certainly wouldn't do that to his child, right?" Panda's wife reassured.

"Y-yeah…I guess you're right," Kat said as she meekly smiled. but then the sound of the front door opening was heard, along with Panda's voice saying that they're back.

"Hurry, put the test away!" Kat whispered harshly to Rachel, and she grabbed the pregnancy test and threw it away as fast as she could and followed Kat out of the bathroom. The blonde and brunette were greeted by a raven haired woman(or Ice Bear's wife, Anna)Ice Bear, Panda…and Grizz.

"Jeez, Kat, you look like you saw a ghost. Everything alright?" Anna asked as she put a few bags of groceries down.

"Tell them," Rachel whispered to Kat through seethed teeth.

"I'm not telling them now," Kat whispered back.

"Well, at least give Grizz a heads up!" Rachel accidently shouted.

"Give me a heads up about what?" Grizz questioned with a smile as he walked up to the two women. At first there was no reply, until Rachel finally cleared her throat.

"U-uh, everyone, come with me to check out this really cool video Kat and I found on the computer!" Rachel yelled.

"Oh, cool, I wanna see," Grizz said, but Rachel ended up stopping him.

"No, you won't want to watch it!" Rachel snapped.

"Why not?" Grizz asked with a confused look.

"Because…because…because I just remembered it shows something that you're allergic to, Grizz, a-and if you watch it, y-you might have an allergic reaction!" Rachel said and smiled while sweating.

"Hmm, I guess that makes sense. Thank you, Rachel, you might have just saved my life there. You guys go and watch that video; Kat and I will get the groceries!" Grizz said as he went to go take care of the other bags of goods. Kat sighed due to his sudden and lucky stupidity.

"Wait, does that mean the video will have peanuts in it?" Panda asked Kat.

"Yes-I mean, no! Just go, you guys!" Rachel said, but then she snapped as she pushed everyone out of the kitchen. Kat stood there in silence and fear.

"Hey, Hon, you wanna help me out here?" Grizz asked his wife. Kat didn't even reply as she picked up a gallon of milk and put it in the fridge; Kat's silence made Grizz suspicious.

"You're awfully quiet, Kat. Is something actually bothering you?" Grizz asked with concern and placed his paws on Kat's shoulders, "you can tell me anything," Grizz continued with a smile.

A tear streamed from Kat's eye, and she sighed as she looked down at the floor. This made Grizz's smile become a frown.

"Rachel and I noticed that I've been acting weird lately, and we decided to see what was wrong. And then there was one last option; I took the test before you just got back and…I'm pregnant, Grizz," Kat explained, almost on the verge of sobbing. She never looked up, for she was too afraid to look at Grizz.

Grizz didn't move or say anything, making Kat even more scared, but then she felt Grizz's arms wrap gently around her, taking Kat by surprise.

"Why were you so scared to just tell me?" Grizz asked as his smile returned. Kat was still confused but she hugged back.

"I-I guess I was just scared," Kat admitted.

"You shouldn't be; not while I'm around," Grizz said as he hugged Kat tighter. That made Kat smile for once, and she hugged Grizz tighter too.

Little did the two know that everyone was standing in the doorway staring at them in shock, except for Rachel.

"You guys are going to be parents?" Panda accidently asked out loud, getting Grizz and Kat's attention.

"Yes, we are. You guys are going to have a little niece or nephew running around," Kat chuckled.

"And I couldn't be happier to be a future father," Grizz said as he gently placed a paw on Kat's stomach.

Later that night, everyone was heading to bed, and there was talk about Kat's pregnancy for each of the married couples.

"Isn't this a surprise? They were the last ones to meet, last ones to be in a relationship, last ones to get married, but still the first ones to get pregnant," Anna said as she climbed into bed with her polar bear husband.

"Ice bear is definitely proud of them…and also makes him want kids of his own," Ice Bear suddenly said.

"Say that again," Anna said with surprise as she looked at Ice Bear with a cocked eyebrow.

"Ice Bear thinks he wants a family too," Ice Bear replied.

"I certainly agree," Anna said with a grin.

Panda was occupying himself with his phone as his brunette wife untied her braid in front of a vanity mirror.

"I'm certainly proud of Kat and Grizz; aren't you, Panda?" Rachel asked as she got the last twist out of her hair, but she noticed that Panda wasn't even on his phone anymore in his reflection in the mirror, he was just lying in the bed with a sad look on his face, making Rachel frown too as she got into bed and hugged Panda to comfort him.

"I'm so sorry, Hon. I know we've been trying longer for a baby, and that Kat's pregnancy doesn't help," Rachel said softly.

"The doctor said it would be difficult for me to conceive," Panda said sadly as a tear rolled down his face as he turned onto his side to face Rachel and snuggle with her.

"I may not have taken the test today, but I'll go back to the doctor's to check again tomorrow, ok?" Rachel said reassuringly as she pecked Panda on the nose.

Kat watched happily as she was lying down in bed with Grizz as the said bear had gently placed his head against Kat's stomach while rubbing circles on it.

"I think I have the perfect name for it," Grizz suddenly said.

"And what's that?" Kat giggled.

"Kit-Kat," Grizz replied.

"I love it; our little Kit-Kat," Kat whispered.



Chapter 2 – Welcome Kit-Kat!

The next morning, Panda, Rachel, Grizz and Kat were eating breakfast at the table…but Anna and Ice Bear were nowhere to be found.

"Anyone seen Ice Bear or Anna this morning?" Kat asked with concern.

"No, but we certainly 'heard them' almost all of last night, if you know what I mean, so it'll probably be a while before they decide to get up," Rachel replied groggily, as it was finally noticed that she and Panda looked kind of tired.

"Well, we've all been there, right, right?" Grizz asked with a grin while also nudging Kat.

"Which reminds me, I'm heading to the doctor's," Rachel said after she stood up and kissed Panda on the forehead, "bye guys; I'll see you later, Sweetie!" Rachel continued as she grabbed her purse and left the cave.

Suddenly Ice Bear and Anna walked into the kitchen, but Anna's hair and pajama's were messed up, and Ice Bear's fur was also a bit ruffled up. they sat down as they supported their tired heads on their arms.

But then Kat saw something on Anna and tried to stifle a laugh.

"What's so funny?" Anna yawned.

"Anna, is that a hickey on your neck I see?" Kat questioned, this also got Grizz and Panda chuckling too.

Anna panicked and slapped her hand over the hickey on her neck, only making the three laugh harder. Ice Bear had already fallen back asleep and was obviously too tired to care.

A few hours into the after noon, Grizz and Panda was playing video games, Ice Bear was cleaning, and Kat and Anna were in the kitchen making roast beef and meatless spaghetti(since Panda's a vegetarian)for dinner.

"You and Ice Bear want kids too, eh?" Kat asked with a smirk.

"Yeah, we did, but even if we didn't we still had fun last night," Anna replied with a wink and they both giggled.

Suddenly the front door opened and standing there was Rachel, who actually had a surprised expression.

"Oh, hey Rachel. How'd it go with the doctor?" Kat asked with a smile.

"Oh, it was peachy! You guys may want to hear this," Rachel replied as she smiled and ran to the living room.

Kat and Anna immediately knew what Rachel meant, so they followed after her.

"Panda, I'm back," Rachel said happily, but Panda was too busy playing video games to care that much.

"Oh, uh, hey Rachel. So, what happened?" Panda asked without stopping the game.

"Unlike all the other appointments, the doctor said I'm actually pregnant this time!" Rachel announced, and suddenly she and the other girls just grabbed each other in a big hug and started jumping and squealing happily.

Panda suddenly froze as his eyes popped wide too. Even Ice Bear had stopped cleaning to hear everything.

"You're serious?" Panda asked as he slowly put the controller down ad got up and approached Rachel, "you mean we'll finally have a cub?!" Panda asked louder.

"Yes!" Rachel shouted, and Panda just swept her off her feet and spun her around as the two laughed.

About two and a half months later, Kat and Rachel's stomach's were getting bigger, but were barely bloated, and the two expecting couples were both in the middle of putting together a nursery in their rooms. Each room consisted of mostly white colors since they still haven't found out the babies' genders yet.

But, of course, as time passes for the expecting women, it takes a negative toll on everyone due to kooky cravings and weird and sudden mood swings. There would be a few times where Panda would have to be careful when having to get peanut butter cookies for Rachel because of his allergies. Or sometimes, Kat would suddenly just lash out on poor Grizz just for playing video games and then she would just cry and apologize. But when Grizz would try to hug her and make her feel better, Kat would only yell at him again and tell him to take a bath because he smells.

Not very many weeks went by did they decide that they all wanted the genders to be a surprise…and that the babies also began to kick!

"Ooh, this one has some leg muscles, and it won't stop either!" Rachel said with a grunt as she grabbed her stomach.

"Well, then I'm glad mine's calm, but it seems to be most active at night," Kat said as she rubbed her stomach.

"Oh, you poor thing, it must be hard to sleep at night," Rachel said with sympathy.

"You're telling me," Kat scoffed.

"So what do you think you're having?" Rachel suddenly questioned.

"Well, Grizz and I keep going head-to-head with each other of whether it's a boy or a girl; I think it's a girl while he thinks it's a boy," Kat replies with a chuckle, making Rachel giggle too, only to be interrupted by another harsh kick.

A few weeks earlier than it should've happened, Kat went into labor and Grizz had her rushed to the hospital.

They waited hours outside Kat's room at the hospital, but Grizz was sent into shock as he just sat and rocked himself in a corner.

But for what seemed like another eternity(to Grizz)a nurse finally came out of the doors.

"Which one is the father?" the nurse asked.

"Oh, uh, that's me, that's me! Tell me, what happened, is everything ok?!" Grizz asked frantically as he jumped up from the corner and rushed over to the nurse. At first the nurse chuckled at Grizz's reactions.

"Oh, you act like the rest of them. Don't worry, sir, everything went just fine; you can all come in now," the nurse said, leading everyone into the room. They all stood back and out of Grizz's way as he ran to the side of the bed and saw that Kat was ok, even though she was sweating like mad and her hair was all spread out over her pillow.

"K-Kit-Kat?" Grizz asked with a smile as he looked down at the blue-blanketed bundle.

"It's a boy Grizz…you were right," Kat said meekly as she handed Kit-Kat to Grizz. Tensions rose as everyone waited for Grizz to pull back the blanket to reveal his son.

Gasps were heard and smile were seen as they saw a grizzly bear cub with a dark brown fur crest on his chest, and small locks of blonde fur growing from his forehead.

Panda couldn't control himself as he suddenly sobbed and Rachel had to comfort him.

Suddenly Kit-Kat began to growl a tiny growl and rub his eyes, making everyone, even Panda, freeze and silence themselves.

When Kit-Kat stopped rubbing his eyes, he slowly blinked them open, revealing big, adorable eyes. Grizz couldn't stop the tears from falling so he had to quickly had to wipe the tears away.



Chapter 3 – Two more additions

The night after the night of Kit-Kat's birth, the bears and their wives had gone back home. Kat was exhausted from all the attention she's been having to give Kit-Kat during the last twenty-four hours, not to mention that about that same time ago that she had given birth as well.

Grizz and Kat were asleep as well as Kit-Kat as he lie in his crib, but then he suddenly woke up and began crying. Grizz was first to wake up, and when he noticed that Kat was about to wake up, he quickly rushed to the crib and gently picked up his whining son.

"Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh…it's ok, it's ok," Grizz said as he placed Kit-Kat against his chest a bounced a little, eventually calming the cub down as he stuck a claw in his mouth and soon fell asleep again.

Grizz then thought he could put Kit-Kat back, but he was wrong when he pulled the cub away from him and the cub only whined more. After a few more attempted tries that failed, Grizz just gave up and decided to just take the baby with him back to his bed.

Grizz gently placed Kit-Kat in front of him as he laid down, and Kit-Kat only turned towards his dad and snuggled deeper into Grizz's fur. Grizz couldn't help but smile as he pulled the blanket back over him and held Kit-Kat closer.

"Goodnight, Kit-Kat," Grizz said softly before he drifted off to sleep.

Not even a week later had Rachel gone into labor too, but it was when she was home alone. She tried to hobble her way over to her room as fast as she could between contractions. When she finally reached it, she grabbed her cell phone as she put herself in bed and called Panda's phone.

Panda was panicking on the other line, so Kat gave Kit-Kat to Grizz and snatched the phone from Panda to tell Rachel what to do.

"Rachel?" Kat asked as she and the others began to quickly make their way back to the cave.

"Kat…p-please, hurry!" Rachel pleaded.

"Listen, sweetie, I know it hurts because I've gone through it, so you need to listen to everything I say. If you can't get up then you need to make sure you're lying down; if you already are, then that's good. All I can say is to just keep taking deep breaths and hanging on until we arrive with a doctor, ok?" Kat asked while running.

"Ok!" Rachel shrieked before hanging up.

Just in time, for Rachel's and the unborn child's sake, they arrived with a doctor who wasted no time in helping Rachel.

How Panda reacted was slightly different from Grizz; Panda was always slumped up against the door, pleading and whining that Rachel and his cub would be alright.

A few good long hours went by before the doctor opened the door.

"Panda, sir, congratulations. You are now a father and you may all come in," the doctor said happily.

Panda rushed to Rachel's side, where she looked like what Kat looked like when she gave birth: sweaty with her hair everywhere.

Rachel had given birth to twins, one boy and one girl.

"This is our daughter, Paige," Rachel said as she revealed the baby in the pink bundle.

Paige was actually a human baby, but she was covered in black and white fur and had paws too. She had naturally silver colored hair with a black streak, and two back blotches over her eyes.

"And this is our son, Ramon," Rachel said while revealing the baby in the blue bundle.

Ramon was actually a panda cub that looked exactly like his father, except that he had a patch of brown fur growing atop his head, almost like a buzz-cut.

Panda gave off a goofy smile as he reach one paw towards his two children, and each of them gently grabbed his paw, and then they opened their little eyes for the first time.

"I-I so glad you're finally here," Panda said while trying not too cry.

"U-uh, guys…" Anna softly piped up and brushed a strand of her short black hair out of her face when all eyes fell on her, "I just think that now would be a good time to say that…about a month ago, I discovered I'm pregnant too," Anna continued nervously as she still tried to hold her smile.

It was silent and all eyes wee wide as they rested on Anna, but eventually Ice Bear broke the awkward moment by wrapping a paw around Anna's waist.

"Ice Bear is most proud and happy," Ice Bear said, making Anna happy and hug him, and Ice Bear still held a bland expression while he hugged back.

By the time Anna was only half way through her pregnancy, Kit-Kat, Paige and Ramon were already walking and barely speaking. Kit-Kat's crest was starting to grow thicker and up and around his neck, and the blonde fur on his forehead had started to grow into short blonde strands. Rachel made Paige wear clothes, and since she was part bear, she was already a bit taller than her brother and Kit-Kat; Ramon's little patch of brown fur on his head had began to look more and more like a buzz-cut.

But poor old Anna never got a break; everywhere she went, Ice Bear was always close behind her with some kind of weapon. Ice Bear would even send a glare towards every person or thing that came near Anna(must be his wild paternal instincts). But aside from all that, Anna couldn't wait to tell Chloe that she'll be an aunt soon.

"Dad, Dad, look at me! Look how high I've climbed!" Kit-Kat yelled down from a tree-top as he had all his small claws out that were digging into the tree.

"Get down, Kit-Kat, you could fall ad get hurt!" Grizz shouted.

"Or…YOU could climb up here so that I don't have to climb down!" Kit-Kat yelled with a grin as he climbed a few more feet higher until he reached a limb and rested on it.

"High up places and I don't have such a good history, trees especially!" Grizz said as he scratched the back of his head.

"Then catch me!" Kit-Kat suddenly shouted.

"Wait, what?" Grizz quickly asked, but just as he looked up, Kit-Kat had already began falling and landed on Grizz, causing Grizz to fall.

Grizz groaned in pain a bit as he lifted his head and was face-to-face with his son's optimistic and energetic face as he sat atop Grizz's chest.

"That was fun, Dad, thanks for the fun," Kit-Kat said happily as he noticed a butterfly flying by and chased after it. Grizz smiled as he plopped his head back down and looked up at the blue sky. Seconds later, Kat walked up to Grizz and was leaning over him. Kat soon sat down on her knees so that she could peck Grizz on the forehead.

"Someone seems a bit lovey-dovey today," Grizz chuckled.

"Well, that's because I've got big news: we're having another kid, Grizz," Kat said softly.

Grizz gasped as his eyes went wide and he shot up and faced Kat while putting on a bigger smile.

"Really?! We're having more kids?! Oh, this is so great!" Grizz said quickly and suddenly grabbed Kat in for a hug.

"I love you, Kat," Grizz said quietly.

"Aw, I love you too," said Kat, but they didn't notice the stampeding Kit-Kat that was still chasing the butterfly that was headed right towards them. So Kit-Kat suddenly rammed right into them, but he didn't stop, making his parents laugh.

Paige and Ramon were walking passed the living room couch when Ramon noticed Panda's phone just sitting on the arm of the couch.

"Hey, look, it's dad's phone," Ramon said as he grabbed Panda's phone and switched it on. Ramon pushed a random button on the screen, and some upbeat music began to play, making the young panda smile to the music.

Paige wasn't as interested in her father's phone or the music, but she was curious when she saw the T.V. was left on and so was the video game, and she also spotted the game controller on the floor. Paige picked it up and just started playing; she couldn't stop or look away as she slowly placed herself on the couch.

Neither of them noticed their parents standing in the distance that were smirking at them.

"It would seem they inherited your need for technological entertainment," said Rachel.

"Yeah, well, at least they didn't inherit my allergies…or any allergies for that matter," Panda said as he playfully grabbed Rachel by her waist and pulled her close to kiss her cheek.




Chapter 4 – Prideful families

About six months later, Anna went into labor, and they decided to just skip the time of traveling to the hospital and just have the doctor come to them again. But while they waited for the doctor, and Anna was screaming in pain, Ice Bear would bare his teeth and claws as he wouldn't anyone NEAR Anna. It even took a bit of convincing to make Ice Bear move and let the doctor help Anna when he arrived.

Rachel and Kat would hold Ice Bear back and try to calm him down while Panda and Grizz watched the kids outside the room. But after the many agonizing hours, the cry of a baby was heard, snapping Ice Bear back to his senses.

Once the doctor had finished cleaning everything, he gave his congrats to Ice Bear and left. Grizz, Panda and the kids quietly walked into the room while Ice Bear slowly walked up to Anna to see the little life he had he had created.

Anna had also given birth to twins, two little girls. Both were polar bear cubs, but one had some black locks of fur on her head.

"The one with my hair is Hannah, and the one that looks like her daddy, I named Irma," Anna said meekly, and then she motioned the cubs towards Ice Bear to tell him that he could hold them, in which he did.

Not very many things can easily wipe off the straight look on Ice Bear's face, but his two children were an exception as they opened their eyes and cooed when they saw their daddy.

A couple more months passed and Grizz and Kat's new son, a cub named Griffin with a darker brown, thin patch of fur on his muzzle, had been born; Irma and Hannah were walking and talking, and Kit-Kat, Paige and Ramon, being bears(or at least, Paige being part bear)had aged quicker and had already grown a bit more and were practically acting like pre-teens now.

Each bear had matured in their own way. Panda had bought a phone for Ramon, and Ramon used it to make music and he wouldn't take his wireless headphone set off his ears most of the time; Paige had improved a lot in playing video games, she was probably the best player around. Paige had also grown into a rather slim girl-panda bear hybrid…making Hannah a bit jealous of her good and unique looks.

Kit-Kat had also grown a bit, he was just an average bear like his father, but he had the instincts of a leader like Grizz too. Kit-Kat's prideful fur crest and spiky blonde hair strands were definitely what made him stand out.

Young Hannah and Irma had begun to find their talents too; Hannah was a little fashionista, she always loved to dress up, and Irma was just like her dad. Though Irma didn't talk in third person like Ice Bear, she would always go with him to watch him fight off imaginary enemies with his usual black ninja belt that he wore on his head, and Irma would occasionally try to steal some of her dad's weapons and practice with them, but she wasn't as sly or sneaky as Ice Bear yet, so he caught her every time.

"Ice Bear thinks this is too dangerous for you," Ice Bear told Irma as he held a pair of nun-chucks out of little Irma's reach.

"Daddy, come on, I wasn't going to do anything with them!" Irma playfully whined as she tried to reach the nun-chucks. Ice Bear suddenly scooped up Irma in his other paw and put the nun-chucks on top of the refrigerator and out of Irma's reach.

But then that's when Anna walked in, and she was grinning and had her arms crossed.

"Aw, Daddy, you took away her fun," Anna playfully whined and took Irma in her arms, "but he's right, Irma, you shouldn't be playing with any weapons," she said as she tapped Irma's nose.

"Aw, but when can I, Mom?" Irma pouted.

"When you're older," Anna simply replied and set Irma back down, "now, go play."

"Mommy, do I look cute with this bracelet?" Hannah asked softly as she walked in, and her black hair had been tied into a pony-tail with a pink bow, and she was wearing a plastic-pearl bracelet on her wrist.

"Sweetie, no matter what you wear, we'll always think that you're beautiful," Anna said as she got down on her knees and hugged Hannah, "but always know that true beauty can only come from your heart, and everyone will see it when you show kindness to them. Ok?"

"Ok, Mommy," Hannah said sweetly, and then skipped out of the kitchen.

"Ice bear thinks he did good,"

"Oh, you really did, and I'm so proud," Anna said and then pecked Ice Bear on the lips, "and do you think you could make your pizza-calzones for dinner? The kids have been begging me to ask you," Anna chuckled.

"Ice bear will make them now,"

Griffin was in his crib in Grizz and Kat's room, and he was trying to climb over and out of it. But because he was still so young, his teeth and claws hadn't really been coming in much, so it was a bit of a struggle for him.

When Griffin did get up, he was trying his best to balance himself to keep from falling, but he wasn't very lucky. It would seem like there would be nothing to save him from falling and possibly getting a bit hurt…but Kit-Kat proved that wrong when he swiftly dove and grabbed Griffin before he hit the floor.

Kit-Kat's actions made Griffin giggle and put his arms up.

"You wanna be tossed, Buddy? Ok, hold on!" Kit-Kat said with a smile and gently began to toss Griffin up a few inches in the air, and it only made Griffin laugh harder. And Kit-Kat couldn't help but chuckle too.

"Thank you, K-K. I'm glad Griffin has a great big-bro," Grizz said as the two noticed their dad walking in.

"Yeah, we're brother bears," Kit-Kat said with a smile as he continued to hold Griffin, and Grizz slumped an arm over Kit-Kat's shoulders.

"But you're also my boys,"

They all looked up to find Kat walking in too with a big smile on her face.

"And all of my boys get kisses," Kat chuckled and kissed Griffin and Kit-Kat on the forehead, and then she went to kiss Grizz on the lips…but they got caught in the moment.

"Ick! C'mon, Griffin, let's save ourselves!" Kit-Kat said playfully, and that made Grizz and Kat pull apart and laugh at their sons' childishness.

But then Grizz had an idea and grinned. And Kat certainly didn't expect Grizz to suddenly push her back on the bed, but she laughed.

As always, Paige and Ramon would be on the couch…which was practically their home. Paige was always playing her video games, never really replying to anyone's questions and would rarely look away from the T.V. Ramon was no different with his wireless headphones basically always on his phone or mostly listening and making music, and most of the music was his. He was always focused on perfecting and editing his music because he dreamed of being a famous D.J.

But Panda and Rachel were slightly bothered by this because they knew if their kids kept this up, they would never communicate as a family and they would waste their lives.

"I mean, I'm a bit addicted to my phone, but this is ridiculous. I don't want Paige and Ramon to become hermits, and I certainly don't want to be a family that doesn't communicate well," Panda said sadly as he and Rachel watched Paige and Ramon.

"But you know they don't have to say they love you for you to know that. You know that they love their father," Rachel said while placing a reassuring hand on Panda's shoulder.

"Aw, and they love their mother, too. See, this is why I married you, Rachel because you always believe the glass is half full. I love you," Panda said and hugged Rachel while pecking her cheek.

"Really?"

Panda and Rachel looked up in surprise to find their two kids smirking while sitting on the back of the couch facing them.
