  1. [17:46] Eshmun Hirai says, "I think it's been put off long enough."
  2. [17:46] Eshmun Hirai asks, "Joining me for a lesson merta?"
  3. [17:46] Mertaisyl asks, "I guess?"
  4. [17:47] Eshmun Hirai says, "Probably then."
  5. [17:47] Mertaisyl says, ".. I don't know what the progress on the thing has been and I thought you might know if anything's been done yet is-"
  6. [17:47] Mertaisyl says, "The."
  7. [17:47] Mertaisyl says, "Original reason why I wanted to talk to you."
  8. [17:48] Eshmun Hirai says, "Honestly, with the entire Loretta situation, the Aurum thing...Our plans have been pushed ajar."
  9. [17:48] Eshmun Hirai says, "The lab was taking form, ready to be used."
  10. [17:48] Eshmun Hirai says, "But now it's been destroyed."
  11. [17:49] Mertaisyl says, "So in short.."
  12. [17:49] Mertaisyl asks, "Do you think there's any chance the project will be done with -one year left-?"
  13. [17:51] Eshmun Hirai says, "It will be."
  14. [17:55] "Right, so let's see here... I take it you've mastered the first two steps, yeah?" The chieftain asked, as he folded his arms across his chest, eyeing up his current pupil.
  15.
  16. A moment of silence passed, before the Chieftain let loose a hearty laugh. Of course Eshmun had the first two steps mastered, if not he wouldn't have asked to continue the lessons.
  17.
  18. "Right, so we'll move onto the next, and probably the most dangerous step."
  19.
  20. Saba forced out as much mana as he could from his body, shrouding himself in a dense cloud of golden mana. Next the residual mana that resdiede within his circuitries convergences points were tapped into, as the shroud of golden energy spike up even further.
  21.
  22. "Right so the next step is a tad... Weird, so what you want to do is uhh…" He paused for a moment,as the sparks of golden energy began to sporadically dance around the chieftain. "Err, weave your mana into your bloodstream, let it mix in with your adrenaline, and allow that to fuel your mana... Control the input, and the output of your energy.
  23.
  24. "If that makes sense."
  25.
  26. Once he finished speaking Saba simply did as he had instructed Eshmun to do. His mana began to flow through his bloodstream, as it mixed with his adrenaline. The shroud of light began to shrink closer and closer to the chieftain, until only what appeared to be a layer of golden skin remained. Excess mana began to pour from his eyes.
  27.
  28. "Right so uhh… Go for it, you got this Esh!"
  29. (Saba Sugar)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. [18:13] At this point in time, Eshmun had indeed mastered the first two steps, as energy coalesced across his body. It shrouded his body, spreading outwards and causing the man to smile. The energy was intense, and actually quite powerful...Which did come with the fact Eshmun was not the weakest of magi around, yet his aura still didn't rival Sabas in the least. Or even his memories of Palamedes.
  33.
  34. "Release as much as possible, then begin syphoning from inside...Alright then, lets do this." Calm as always, they began to reach deep into the few converging points in their body. Crown, throat, heart, each one being tapped into by itself.
  35.
  36. At first it was A-Okay, yet as they reached the heart, the veins that laced his body began swelling. Sweat beaded down his forehead and with no real issues he connected. Instead, the real issue was in the matter of his still unhealed circuits. The attunement had done more to the lines that laced his body then he let anyone know about, in reality, they had been in a state of constant strain and pain.
  37.
  38. Every fight causing spasms in his body, yet this was almost the breaking point as they released as much of power as possible into the outer layer of his body.
  39.
  40. "O-...okay...That's done n-now, onwards..." Though there were stutters, his voice was still powerful, unyielding even on doing this.
  41.
  42. Pain was momentary, fleeting even, but this? This was something he needed, something that was overly necessary in the coming times. It was once more time for the Spire island, and...Eshmun had not improved since the last time, yet he felt this one would be deadlier then the past.
  43. (Eshmun Hirai)
  44. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  45.
  46. [18:15] Eshmun Hirai says, "do it"
  47. [18:15] Brock stared awkwardly at what was happening down on the beach.
  48. (Brock)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [18:20] The young Vashranan looked down from the cliff-edge towards the beach. To see a dragon, a glowing man, and a man who wasn't glowing but seemed to be attempting to do so? They weren't quite sure.
  52.
  53. Idly they'd lean over the edge of the cliff. Floating calmly as they thought about what they where seeing. It was a painful thing to watch, the man's body spasming under the strain. Why was he doing this?
  54.
  55. The Occultist wasn't sure at first then it sort of clicked. He was attempting to make his body a more fitting vessel of power. So, he'd begun to burn away that which was weakness within it? Maybe? Well that'd make sense, after all from the curative flames came growth.
  56.
  57. Though they weren't dealing with fire technically. It was more like energy? Raw spiritual power, not something she'd much of a connection with. Though if they where all sitting there attempting to learn it.
  58.
  59. It had to be worthwile to listen to. So, floating down the edge of the cliff. The woman took a spoke looking out at the training session. They'd doubted it was anything private after all they where on a beach.
  60. (Brock)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [18:20] With his golden shroud of energy around him, the chieftain formed some pompoms out of energy, as he proceeded to perform a merry jig, all in the pursuit of providing moral support for his student. He seemed to be in pain, so clearly being the best darn cheerleader he could be, would surely help him.
  64.
  65. "LET'S GO ESHMUN! LET'S GO!" He'd throw his pompoms into the air, as he clapped his hands, before immediately catching the pompoms again. "YOU GOT THIS!"
  66. (Saba Sugar)
  67. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  68.
  69. [18:21] Blinked, they'd wait for a few seconds. Then as if it made perfect sense they'd join in on the cheering for the struggling energy magi.
  70.
  71. "You go ESHMUN! You can do this! You feel great!" He probably didn't feel great and he probably couldn't do this. Whatever this was, but hey the occultist was slightly mad not a spoilsport.
  72. (Brock)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [18:33] The explanation that was 'weird', given by Saba? It spoke to him weirdly enough. It reminded him of exactly how he felt during those moment of battle, during that exciting life and death situation.
  76.
  77. Where his magic clashed against another, lives were placed on the line, adrenaline was pumping. Already he remembered the feeling, it had happened so many times, in every 'challenge'. Worthy fights he called them, ones that he would care to ever speak about.
  78.
  79. But mixing the mana into the bloodstream, in with his adrenaline?...What adrenaline? There was no fight, no such thing happening right now that could possibly push him to the edge. Instead it was a peaceful late afternoon day on the beach, with the sea-breeze wind enticing him to take a swim.
  80.
  81. If only he wasn't in the middle of something and in pain, then he may have done such a thing. Instead he just focused, yet briefly gave a pained smile at the cheering. Even if he didn't know this Brock, or their voice, it was always nice to be cheered on.
  82.
  83. As he was aiming to slowly integrate his power into their body, the broken and burnt out circuits spasmed again. Fingers creaked, fists tightened, and they started to push through the circuits, purposefully, causing the already practically semi-broken nerves to straighten out with his energy.
  84.
  85. Instead of actually repairing or breaking them more, his energy began to crawl through his body, making their own lines straight towards the blood vessels that roamed his skin. Though it definitely wasn't perfect, a connection was made and his power was pushing into them. Already he could feel a pumping, looming strength, all that ready to actually be used that he couldn't use.
  86.
  87. Yet they were stuck after doing this and eyes looked up at Saba, "Saba...How do I mix it with my adrenaline if I feel none right now?" Their voice was low, concentration at its max while they just continued to keep their balance of pain, progress, and effort on the same levels.
  88. (Eshmun Hirai)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90.
  91. [18:38] Brock tilted her head, mixing adrenaline? With what? Their focus shifted towards 'Saba' now, oh what a pretty bird.
  92. (Brock)
  93. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  94.
  95. [18:46] The chieftain paused his cheerleading for a moment, his pompoms disappeared, as he brought a hand to his chin, pondering his students question. It was clear that he was struggling, and it was now his time lesson that struggle, at least by a little bit.
  96.
  97. "Well there's a couple ways you can go about it. Me? I tend to use a bit of my flames to harm myself a little bit, to get the adrenaline pumping, but uhh… Well, one of the injuries I sustained a little while ago, kinda helps keep the adrenaline pumping."
  98.
  99. The chieftain let loose a hearty chuckle, as he slowly shook his head."But uhh, I don't suppose that would work for you, now would it? Seeing as you can't use fire magic, well I suppose you could attempt something similar with your winds.
  100.
  101. Just give yourself a quick cut with em, and then hopefully the adrenaline should kick in, but uhh… Just be careful with that, or you'll end up like me. An adrenaline junky, addicted to the very thing that powers ya. It's uhh, kinda bad.
  102.
  103. A shrug is give, before he'd continue.
  104.
  105. "But let's not deal with that right now, instead try doing what I said, and if that doesn't work... I guess we can figure something else out.
  106.
  107. He had offered what advice he could, so now it was all in Eshmun's very capable hands!
  108.
  109. The energy pompoms would quickly return, as he got back to being the best darn cheerleader he could be.
  110.
  111. "YOU GO THIS EHSMUN!"
  112.
  113.
  114. (Saba Sugar)
  115. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  116.
  117. [19:05] For their part they'd sit on the edge of the ledge. No longer really cheering, though something about using one's own flames to spark some adrenaline had caught their attention. Idly they'd conjure some fire, alighting their hands in palms.
  118.
  119. From their shadow would curl a small stream, tainting the flames and making them dissipate until only a shadowy illusion of them remained.
  120. (Brock)
  121. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  122.
  123. [19:07] Definitely struggling with the idea, they took a moment to actually think about it. So self-harm was hopefully the answer then? If that was the case, then fuck it, he was going to inflict self-harm and get adrenaline pumping.
  124.
  125. With energy still pumping out of his body, mana filling the air, Eshmun began removing the top half of his clothes.
  126.
  127. "Saba, when you fight alongside me, have you not figure out what kind of fighter I am?" Jacket was thrown off, then came the scarf. Nyeshk armour covered his body, large chinks were removed off of what was once a pristine set.
  128.
  129. All of it was covered in gashes given to him during his fights, "When I get into a worthy fight, against a worthy challenge...Such as against that dream dragon? Kraus do I love the feeling, my body and mind relishes in it." At this point, the Financial Minister was a calm berserker in battle. Scholar in heart and mind, with the will and body of a lean battle junky.
  130.
  131. Which now that his Nyeshk was removed, it would be noticed how much exactly he was a battle junky. Scars were scarred across older scars, criss-crossing all across his body like he as the paintbrush to some sort of blunt knife.
  132.
  133. Some were definitely life-threatening at the time, others lining up with his Nyeshk armour, showing that it was due to that he had survived. On the center of his chest however was a realistic looking mark, of a golden skull that stared at any who looked at it.
  134.
  135. "And...You were wrong about something, I am a fire magi." Upon stating that, flames would relinquish their attunement to the water that he controlled...And an uncontrollable inferno erupted all across his body.
  136.
  137. Though they weren't exactly a master 'pyromancer', in the end he was still a user of the magick. Which caused him to have an innate control over his own prowess.
  138.
  139. It was time to challenge himself, get the adrenaline pumping.
  140. (Eshmun Hirai)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [19:17] Once more the chieftain would let loose one of his trade mark chuckles. "Bah, yer right, I really should have known that by now, but I tend to zone out when I fight, focusing only on whatever decided to get in my way. I go off of pure instinct."
  144.
  145. A glance would be give towards his left leg, a small smile spreading across his face, as he recalls how he lost it... Or was that his right leg? No, no... It was his left leg.
  146.
  147. Probably.
  148.
  149. "It uhh, tends to lead to some interesting things."
  150.
  151. His green eyes would then scan his now shirtless student's body, taking note of each and every wound that resided on the young man. So young, and already covered in so many wounds. Truly, this man belonged in Gehenna, and not Levengard, or Huangzhou.
  152.
  153. He paused, as he watched the man erupt with flames. Oh that's right, he used steam magic, didn't he? Wow, he really forgot about that, didn't he? "Opps… I uhh, I can't believe I forgot about that."
  154.
  155. The man sighed, as he remembered he HAD CHEERING TO DO! So without wasting another second, Ezamara's chieftain would go back to his merry dance, doing his best to support his student, with loud cheering, and incredibly ba-...Great dancing!
  156.
  157. Yeah... Totally not bad dancing, never that.
  158. (Saba Sugar)
  159. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  160.
  161. [19:23] At this point the vashranan decided they'd done enough to aid the man's training. After all one could only cheerlead for strangers for so long. So without further ado they'd float up and away!
  162.
  163. After all if this kept up the man who was training would be naked and she wasn't about that life. They based on that skull he needed a doctor pretty badly. Oh, well not her concern!
  164.
  165. Whooshed away!
  166. (Brock)
  167. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  168.
  169. [19:24] Flames licked at his skin, leaving no mark but twinging pain through the nerves nonetheless. That added onto the circuits were actually making him feel quite shitty when it comes to doing anything. But like stated...Pain was fleeting. Which is exactly why even when all the pain was being inflicted onto him, they still couldn't feel anything.
  170.
  171. Where was the promised adrenaline, where was that high he so craved? At least part way through that, he realized that it didn't exist in pain. Something was sparking in his mind however, as the cheerleading Saba did his thing.
  172.
  173. None of this was about pain, his feeling that he got in battle, that adrenaline that wished for a challenge...It was the thrill of having a goal, and in that sense, completing that goal.
  174.
  175. "I don't need to inflict self-harm...This is just challenge...To myself."
  176.
  177. Crudely they smiled wide, the flames that were baking his body dispersing outwards, leaving the man brightly smiling at all around him. There was a strange joy, one that was partly crazed at the thought of challenging himself.
  178.
  179. "Bahahaha!" Laughing loudly, adrenaline would start pumping in his veins, their circuits now screaming in pain and causing his limbs to try and spasm. Muscles tensed, fingers curled inwards, blood dripping from his nails sinking into the palms with every passing moment.
  180.
  181. Yet as they spoke, the energy began to sink inwards, the once turbulent aura on the man quietly integrating itself with their blood, and in that end, with the adrenaline that was being released.
  182.
  183. Though there was definitely no perfect completion of the matter, an accomplishment had been made for Eshmun, their eyes staring mildly crazed at the ground. No true control was settled yet, but his energy was most definitely slowly gathering through all of it...Even if it was rather painful.
  184.
  185. "Saba." Boldly he spoke, right before spitting out a clot of blood to the nearby ground. It seemed at one point their teeth had clenched hard enough to cut into some of the gums in their mouth.
  186.
  187. "I think I understand what you meant."
  188. (Eshmun Hirai)
  189. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  190.
  191. [19:48] The Chieftain, still clad in his own shroud of energy, silently stopped his cheering, to simply observe his student. After all his cheering probably wasn't doing much, and by all rights he should be waiting in case something awful happens to Eshmun, so at the very least he can use his holy magic to help dull some of his pain.
  192.
  193. Which it seems he might have to do soon.
  194.
  195. The more he watched his student, the more he wasn't sure how he should feel about this. Yes, he was following his advice, and yes it seemed to be working, and... Yes it was exactly the same thing he did, and yet something about watching his student harm himself, just didn't sit right in the chieftain.
  196.
  197. Yet he seemed... Happy, so what else could he do but support the damn man?
  198.
  199. Saba sighed, as he offered the man a thumbs up, as he watched the shroud of energy begin to slowly fade, as he almost ascends. With the key word there being almost. He was close, very, very close.
  200.
  201. Just one more
  202.
  203. "I know yer trying to focus on the weaving your mana into your bloodstream and all, but it's time for me to give you the fourth and final lesson. This one has nothing to do with the power itself, but it's the mind state required to properly use it.
  204.
  205. If you continue down this path, you will be abandoning any chance of learning the Arcane. Order, or Chaos... Niether will be possible for you to learn.
  206.
  207. Instead we walk a path of... neutrality. Not everyone needs to die, and yet we don't need to spare everyone. Offer alternatives to death to those who deserve it, and to those who don't, show no mercy.
  208.
  209. If you can do this, you too can properly ascend."
  210.
  211. The man let loose a sigh, as he focused his green eyes onto Eshmun, waiting for the man to respond, or.. Well more accurately, soak in the information.
  212. (Saba Sugar)
  213. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  214.
  215. [20:16] Concentrating, all their focus was placed upon keeping their power aligned, working towards such matters. It was almost, their power was touching the pinnacle of what it could hit and by now...A small stream of blood was flowing down his body. A few blood vessels had popped at this point.
  216.
  217. Even with all that pain, all the momentary misery he as going through, their ears perked as he heard Saba speak. No chance to learn the Arcane, the path of neutrality?
  218.
  219. Everything he had said actually made Eshmun give a loud hearty laugh that sprayed a small bit of blood into the air, "Saba! You know me so well, and all that...Really just sounds just like my thought process on those. Neutrality, not everyone should die, only those who truly deserve it should..." Smiling wide at their own words, he contained the equilibrium and spoke some final words.
  220.
  221. "Theres a reason why I wished to take in the Nethadrin that one time, and now Loretta the undead...Because neither of them should be judged by what they are, without having done anything to be judged about." Boldly he spoke, giving his thoughts that he always carried about the matters.
  222. (Eshmun Hirai)
  223. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  224.
  225. [20:23] "I'm going to chose not to comment on the Nethradin, and Loretta, you already know where I stand on them... No need to repeat myself."
  226.
  227. Once more he'd pause for a moment, as his green eyes scanned his student for a moment, slowly nodding his head, as he inspected his students body. Mhm, mhm, yeah it looks like he could use a bit of a break.
  228.
  229. "Bah, well I'm happy you agree with me on the whole path of neutrality thing, which is in all honesty pretty great, buuuut! Yer putting too much strain on your body right now, so I think now is a good time to call it quits, yeah?
  230.
  231. Let your body relax for a bit, and then practice this on your own, and you should be fine."
  232.
  233. A nod is given, as his shroud of golden light dissipates from around him.
  234.
  235. "But before we leave, any questions?"
  236. (Saba Sugar)
  237. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  238.
  239. [20:29] One last hurrah is given by his body, even before Saba tells him to relax...Their entire body collapses onto the sand and all the energy he had been condensing and controlling crackled outside of his body like a miniature explosion. Sand duster the air in all directions, a smile filled his face...And it seemed they were in pain, but feeling rather fine overall.
  240.
  241. Eshmun was no wuss to pain after all, "I know, Gehennan religion stuff, wraiths and all that on Nethadrin." From their spot in the cloud, he began talking, no energy in his limbs to move after all was said and done.
  242.
  243. Yet he still found the energy to talk, "And...You continue thinking on the Loretta situation, if necessary I'll beat it into your skull my reasonings behind it all if needed...Just not today, nor tomorrow probably, that spire expedition needs a lot of attention." Limbs splayed out, their amber-hued eyes looked up at the sky.
  244.
  245. "Good time to relax a bit and...I don't think I've got any questions, other then do you mind pulling me to the settlement? Maybe toss me at Ardith or something to be fawned over while injured."
  246. (Eshmun Hirai)
  247. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  248.
  249. [20:30] Saba Sugar says, "...Yeah, I can carry you there."
  250. [20:30] Saba walks over, and slings the Hirai over his shoulder, carrying them off towards the settlement.
  251. (Saba Sugar)
  252. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  253.
  254. [20:30] Eshmun Hirai says, "...By the way Saba, I just want you to know, though I've thought about doing it before."
  255. [20:30] Saba Sugar asks, "Doing what?"
  256. [20:30] Eshmun Hirai says, "I respect you too much to honour duel you to get your agreement."
  257. [20:31] Saba Sugar says, "I'd just say no."
  258. [20:31] Saba Sugar says, "Duh."
  259. [20:31] Eshmun Hirai says, "Pfft, I'd just be an consistent ass about it then."
  260. [20:31] Saba Sugar says, "I'm a cripple."
  261. [20:31] Eshmun Hirai says, "You are a cripple."
  262. [20:31] Saba Sugar says, "Yup."
  263. [20:31] Eshmun Hirai says, "Now carry me faster."
  264. [20:31] Mertaisyl says, "I'm a depresso dragon."
  265. [20:31] Eshmun Hirai says, "But dont be too difficult."
  266. [20:31] Eshmun Hirai says, "You are a depresso dragon."
  267. [20:32] Mertaisyl says, "Very."
  268. [20:32] Mertaisyl says, ".."
  269. [20:32] Mertaisyl asks, ".. Do you honestly believe there'll be time Esh?"
  270. [20:32] Eshmun Hirai says, "There will."
