Overview Report A.E 21

Construction has progressed quickly since our settling here. The most able among us have been efficient in building their abodes into the sides of the hills, hollowing them out as though they were born to till the earth.

If any of them felt that it was too much like digging their own graves, I heard no whispers of it. But most do not report to me about their unrest. I suppose they still think of me as their lawman instead of their civilian supervisor.

This is not why I record this latest report, however. Recent days have seen some of the builders uncovering a peculiar metal - a vein of ore beneath the earth. While at first they complained that it was impeding their progress, one of the stricken claimed that it may be possible to smelt it into something useful.

It took some time to locate the origin of these claims, but I have managed to trace them back to their source. It was Subject #018 -- Elial Sor. Records indicate she was a metalworker prior to her relocation. Her associates inform me that she has dubbed the metal "floriocite." Ideally, we will prevent her from coining the name before it grows to be a true colloquialism among us; that is a joke too cruel, particularly for the little ones.
