+XMEN CHEMTALES __ Howdy. We can agree that the numberplate had *obviously* been digitally removed (though to characterise it as being "blurred" is deceptive - _for where is the "blur"?_). What we do not seem to agree on is why it had been digitally removed. You suggest that the removal of the numberplate is mundane - e.g., for reasons of "safety/security" or as the result of some "habit" with which you are acquainted.






Even if it is now a "trade practice" to do as you say - surely you acknowledge that to "blur" a numberplate *so as to remove all trace of it* ("wipe the plates clean") requires substantially more time and skill than a simple automated blurring - such as what we see with "Google Street View" - or - some ugly prehistoric "black rectangle".






Again - *we don't disagree that the plate has been "wiped clean"* - though its removal most likely wasn't fast/trivial. It would have required some time and effort.






This brings us to the next point: *if blurring the numberplate is an issue as you suggest* (though it has been explained in a comment above that it is not - let us pretend it is) *then why would only one of the two photos* [which were located within a few centimetres of each other in the same article] *have its numberplate blurred?* Why not - as a matter of routine/habit - blur both of the images?






Okay, you have provided an answer for that. You suggest it may not have happened because they are dummies and forgot. I accept there are dummies who could have forgotten. Since many people tend to stop thinking at the first "good answer" that comes to mind and because it's not possible to prove it *wasn't* due to some lapse of memory - let us pretend it was a lapse of memory. (Though can you imagine a news article showing two photos of a child's face - with the news outlet recognising it should blur the child's face but remembering to blur the face from only one of the images?! Not the same thing I know - just a quick analogy.)






So here is a question that bypasses the possibilities of "habit" and "lapse of memory".

+Terran Downvale has pointed out that this video is about establishing a pattern of [intentional and unnecessary] digital tampering. Tampering that you accept has happened. This is the first video in a series that builds upon that concept. Perhaps we can excuse the removal of the yellow timestamp from the photo given it is "ugly and distracting" - *but can you satisfactorily explain the digital tampering/adjustment of the white line?* Surely you agree that was *undeniable*, *intentional* _and_ *unnecessary*? _I wonder what force of habit or concern for safety necessitated such a thing?!_
