  1. Coal Age
  2. Stone Age
  3. Can only get up to stone-tier pickaxes. This can only mine so deep into the earth. Flint pickaxes only have 3 durability.
  4. You are able to get wood, clay, basic stone, coal, and pyrolusite (manganese). Coal is rare.
  5.  
  6. Oven
  7. Oven are multiblock structures built out of stone core blocks and bricks. These are used to bake food, like bread, which is the only "good" food at this point. More on food later.

  9. Bricks
  10. Bricks are made by combining sand and clay to get a Soft Brick. This can be smelted. Early game, soft bricks are made inefficiently by shapeless crafting. Bricks are made in machines.
  11.  
  12. Kiln
  13. This is a wooden machine in which coal and soft bricks are input, and bricks are very slowly made. This is the first machine a person will make.
  14.  
  15. Smelter
  16. The first ore processing machine that will last you a fairly long time. It is made of stone and bricks. You can currently only process Manganese and wooden logs in it. You can turn this manganese into a pickaxe of end-low-tier.
  17. With this pickaxe, you will be able to mine into the Steam Age.
  18.  
  19. Brass Age
  20. You can now get up to brass-tier pickaxes. This can only mine so deep into the earth.
  21. You are able to get all Stone Age materials, but now also the end-early-game stone, zinc, and copper. Coal is much easier to find in this level of the earth. Pyrolusite is not.

  23. Machines
  24. Basic Boiler
  25. Used to turn solid fuels and water into steam. Steam will be automatically shot out of the top of the boiler, so you will want to make pipes and a tank.

  28. Used to transport steam.

  31. Used to store steam.
