  1. >You are Twilight Sparkle.
  2. >Right now you are riding a train with Anonymous to Ponyville.
  3. >This is very exciting to you, but also nerve racking.
  4. >You're also very displeased that Anonymous has decided to take a nap while on the train.
  5. >You really wanted to ask him a bit about his world, and the griffon kingdom.
  6. >But you really can't blame him, everything he's learned so far has been impressive, you would be worried if he wasn't tired.
  7. >Letting a yawn loose, you give yourself a quick shake and look around.
  8. >Trains can be pretty boring when you don't have anything to do.
  9. >Having read all the books you brought with you last weekend has left you pretty bored.
  10. >Maybe a nap wouldn't hurt.
  11. >Moving around a bit, you can't really seem to get comfortable.
  12. >Anonymous is taking almost the entire seat, giving you just enough room to sit on it.
  13. >Maybe you could use him as a pillow.
  14. >Cheeks gain a little pink as you think about it.
  15. >No, no... You might send the wrong message.
  16. >Groaning, you give a quick look around the train car.
  17. >Every other seat has another pony in it, otherwise it's full.
  18. >Another yawn tells you this is where you're going to fall asleep, better make the best of it.
  19. >As you lay on Anonymous's arm, you begin to get comfortable.
  20. >After bit of moving, you release a content sigh.
  21.
  22. >Looking up at him, you really begin to wonder what you should do.
  23. >Being completely new to this, you have no idea how to get his attention.
  24. >You tried brushing your tail against him but he didn't even respond.
  25. >Doubt he even noticed.
  26. >You would think with all the “how to flirt” books you have read, something would come to mind on how to get his attention.
  27. >You're not even sure why you feel the way you do around Anonymous.
  28. >Several stallions have attempted to grab your attention, yet none of them could hold it.
  29. >Yet, this human has your attention without even trying. And you bet he doesn't even know.
  30. >Maybe you are doing this all wrong, what if his kind has some kind of mating ritual or something?
  31. >Maybe they clap their hands together, doing some kind of dance to attract a mate?
  32. >No no, that's silly.... Best not to rule that out though...
  33. >But how would you even find out about it?
  34. >Can't just ask him about it can you?
  35. >Maybe you can!
  36. >You still wish to study him, you only have information from the questions you asked him, you know almost nothing else about him besides what he's told you.
  37. >Anonymous begins to stir, startling you slightly. Moving off his arm slowly, you wait for him to calm back down.
  38. >What happens next surprises you, as his arm moves over your head and around you, pulling you into his chest.
  39. >Looking up at him, you can see he's still sleeping, but now you're a bit worried.
  40. >Even just moving a bit may wake him up.
  41. >Moving around a bit more, your ear pushes against his chest.
  42. >You can hear his heart beating, it's strangely captivating.
  43. >A small yawn tells you you're not moving.
  44. >Sleep quickly takes you away.
  45.
  46. >Slowly you awaken.
  47. >Picking yourself up off Anonymous, you take a quick look around.
  48. >Looking out the window, you can just begin to see Ponyville.
  49. >You breathe a small sigh of relief, it would have been embarrassing to miss your stop.
  50. >Getting out of your seat, you begin to stretch a bit.
  51. >The trains horn blows briefly, causing Anonymous to stir. Popping his head up, he takes a look around.
  52. >”We there yet?” He asks.
  53. “Almost, you can see it now,”
  54. >Rubbing his eyes, he begins to sit up and start stretching.
  55. >”God I feel so much better.”
  56. >Getting back on the seat next to him, he begins to look out the window.
  57. >”Whoa, this is a completely different change of scenery compared to Canterlot.”
  58. >While Anonymous looks out the window, you take a quick glance at the clock.
  59. >Just past dinner time.
  60. “Hmmm, so when we get to Ponyville, would you want to drop our stuff off and go get something to eat?”
  61. >A low growl is heard coming from Anonymous.
  62. >Looking at him, he looks back at you with a small smile, holding his stomach.
  63. >”Yeah sure, this place looks a lot different then Canterlot.”
  64. >You look out the window with Anonymous.
  65. “Yeah, when I first arrived here I wasn't very thrilled, but it grew on me. It's really quiet during the night.”
  66. >”Kinda reminds me of home already, Canterlot in itself is rather loud, even at night.”
  67. “Your home?”
  68. >”Yeah, I live in a rather small trader town. It may not be very quiet considering the drunks at night, but when everyone is a sleep it holds a certain charm.”
  69. “Wow, I've never been outside of Equestria- well I've been to the crystal empire, but that's still in Equestria. I always wondered what the griffon or minotaur kingdoms are like.”
  70. >”Eh, almost the same really. Comparing griffons, ponies and my world, you find a bunch of similarities. The technology is the biggest difference I have seen, ponies have magic mixed with their technological advancements while griffons have managed to move forward naturally like humans did. I'm not too sure about minotaurs, but from what I hear it's similar to griffons.”
  71. “Really? What about your world? How advanced was it?”
  72.
  73. >”Well, comparing it to yours, this world is still pretty far behind, but it was around this time that some big breakthroughs happened and things started changing rapidly. I don't have it on me but one thing I really wish you guys had here was a phone.”
  74. “Phone?”
  75. >”Yes, it's a device that started off rather big and bulky and ended up being something as small as something that fits in our hand.”
  76. “What did this device do?”
  77. >”Well, when it was first created, it was used to talk to others across large distances. You could call your parents from your home and be able to talk and hold a conversation with them.”
  78. “And you wouldn't have to wait for the mail courier to pick up or drop off your letters?”
  79. >”Exactly, phones became a rather large thing in my world, everyone and everything had a number. You could order food and some places would deliver. Need a book? You can call a library and ask if they have it.”
  80. “So... you could call anywhere?”
  81. >”Correct! This lead to the development of a much smaller but portable version of the phone, eventually the phone could do almost everything, you can take pictures and videos, send text messages, it became a must-have for almost every human.”
  82. “Wow... what's a text message? That some kinda letter?”
  83. >”uh.... yes... almost exactly what it is, except it's instant...”
  84. “Wouldn't that be kinda backwards? You could already talk to someone with this phone, why would you send them a letter?”
  85. >”Well....” Anonymous laughs a bit as he tries to think of how to explain it.
  86. >”It's like a letter, but you could read it any time, say you want to ask a friend if they wanted to do something, you can send them a text message and when they see it and have time they can respond.”
  87. >The train begins screeching to a halt.
  88. “So your world doesn't use letters or mail couriers?”
  89. >”No, we still did, packages and newspapers and such.”
  90. “Interesting, I would really like to see this device.”
  91. >”I would show it to you if I had it on me, it's back home. I would send a letter asking them to send it, but it may take some time before it even reaches them, and to just send it back I'll be on my last week for school or already gone.”
  92. >You go silent as that sinks in.
  93. >You completely forgot Anonymous isn't going to be here forever.
  94.
  95. >”Hey? You alright?” Anonymous's voice startles you.
  96. >Giving your head a quick shake, you manage a weak smile.
  97. “Yeah, why?”
  98. >”You kinda zoned out. It's time to get off the train.”
  99. “Oh... Oh right, I'm just so hungry.” you throw the excuse out there.
  100. >You're not sure if Anonymous really believes it as he stands up, grabbing his and your bag, throwing them over his shoulder with ease.
  101. >”Oof, is there a reason your bag is heavier then mine?”
  102. >Standing up, you take the lead as both of you get off the train.
  103. “Well, I grabbed a few books from home.”
  104. >Glancing at Anon, you see him taking a closer look at the bulging bag.
  105. >”Few? Feels like a small library.”
  106. >Giggling a bit, you continue forward.
  107. >”So where do you live?”
  108. “Right in front of us.” you do a small gesture pointing at your library.
  109. >”So, past the tree?”
  110. “Nooo, see the door?”
  111. >”On the tree?”
  112. “Yes. That is where I live.”
  113. >Anonymous goes silent, but the look on his face says he's confused.
  114. >Reaching your place, you open the door, letting Anonymous go in first.
  115. >Following him inside, he begins talking.
  116. >”Whoa, you weren't kidding when you said you lived in a library.”
  117. >As Anonymous begins to take a look around, you float your bag off his shoulder and onto your table.
  118. “Spike!” you call out.
  119. >No response.
  120. “I guess he's at Rarity's.”
  121. >Anonymous doesn't really say anything as he sets his stuff against the wall.
  122. >The sun is just now beginning to set.
  123. >Thinking of where to take Anonymous, you nod your head.
  124. “Alright, let's head to Sugercube Corner.”
  125. >”Alright, sounds... sweet.”
  126. >Both of you giggle a bit as you walk outside.
  127.
  128. >As you lead Anonymous through town, he takes in the sights, making small comments about how it reminds him a lot of his current home.
  129. >Reaching Sugercube Corner, he makes a comment about how the building itself looks delicious.
  130. >It really does. Heading inside, both of you hear Mrs. Cake call out from the back kitchen ”Coming~”
  131. >She comes through the door, looking from Anonymous to you really quick.
  132. >”Welcome back Twilight! Who's your friend?” she takes her spot at the cash register.
  133. “This is Anonymous, he's going to school in Canterlot to learn magic.”
  134. >”Oh my, how exciting! Now what can I get you dearies?”
  135. >Anonymous was already looking at the baked goods.
  136. >”Got any cream cheese?”
  137. >”We do!”
  138. >”Bagel and cream cheese sounds amazing right now.”
  139. >”Alright, and you Twilight?”
  140. “A muffin will be fine.”
  141. >”That'll be 6 bits.”
  142. >You begin to dig through your small bag of bits you brought, only to look up and watch Anonymous drop several on the counter.
  143. >Anonymous gives you a smile as you slowly put your bit bag away.
  144. >Mrs. Cake gives both of you a small plate with your orders before setting the bits into the cash register.
  145. “Hey, is Pinkie Pie here?”
  146. >”Hm, I think she said she was walking Gummy.... or did she say she was taking the little ones for a walk... oh dear, I need to check up on my husband, I'll be right back.”
  147. >Laughing a bit as Mrs. cake rushes up stairs, Anonymous and you take a seat at one of the many tables.
  148. >Anonymous spreads cream cheese over his bagel, then puts the bagel back together almost like a sandwich and begins eating.
  149. >You want to make a comment, but you really can't, so you take a bite out of your muffin.
  150. >Anonymous finishes his food way before you finish yours.
  151. >The door opens with the bell ringing over head.
