- Problem:
- Firstaid is a great step toward easing the entry into low to mid level combat, but is still lacking
- in some ways. I'm of the firm opinion that anyone willing to set up firstaid should be able to
- compete at all levels of combat, and that 3rd party scripting should be a small to nonexistent
- factor in enjoying all the content the game has to offer. Here, I'd like to propose a few changes to
- firstaid and curing overall that I think would make combat more approachable, and Aetolia more
- successful as a direct result.

- Solution #1:
- Make FIRSTAID DEFENCE more comprehensive, allowing many more defs to be added. Include a FIRSTAID
- DEFUP command that will toggle defenses based on if they are 'keep up always' or 'use once'. I
- understand this would be a lot of work, but I think it's a huge setback to the game currently that
- third party scripts are necessary for new players to upkeep basic class defenses.
- Solution #2:
- While not strictly defensively related, I think it would be beneficial to new players for every
- class to have access to their classes basic damage route through firstaid or the KILL command. This,
- combined with solution 1 would mean that nearly everyone would be able to play the game without the
- need for third-party scripts.
- Solution #3:
- Add auto-diagnosing after X hidden affs received in firstaid. Currently, hidden affs and hidden aff
- checking is a big part of Aetolia's combat and a big thing that separates those who can compete at a
- high level from those who cannot. Once more, I feel that relying too heavily on third-party systems
- to accomplish this is a bad idea. I understand this will be a bit of a contentious topic, but at the
- same time this shouldn't do anything to effect class balance.

- I'm not the biggest fan of solution 2 & 3, but a big reason why we probably won't expand on firstaid
- is because its a big source of game lag. Any further additions to firstaid will come down to admin
- discretion or necessity (like a core mechanical change).
