Manglore born Bangalore Beauty "Sweety Shetty" well known as"Anushka Shetty" was born on November 7th 1981 to K. N. Vittal Shetty and Urmila Prafulla Shetty and has two elder brothers . Tulu is her mother tongue but also familiar with English,Hindi,kannada,Telugu and Tamil. She completed her schooling in "East Wood High School" and her Graduation(B.C.A) from"Mount Carmel College",Bangalore and worked as Geography teacher in the same school being trained in yoga by Bharat Thakur, later she worked as Yoga trainer for sometime which landed her into films. "Sweety" was first introduced to filmy world by Mr .Nagarjuna, & Mr. Puri Jagannath as "Anushka", where she was introduced to Puri by Director E. Nivas, thus she got a role in "Super" and it was released in July 21st 2005, before the film released she signed Sumanth starrer "Mahanandi", Though "Super" was an average movie "Mahanandi" failed at Boxoffice.The glamorous image in these two movies made directors to sign another two projects in 2006 one was Astram with Manchu Vishnu and Vikramarkudu with Ravi Teja and directed by S SRajamouli. While Astram failed at Box Office, Vikramarkudu was a smashing hit which made Anushka a star overnight.The famous dialogue "JhinTaka Jeta Jeta" is still famous among almost all section of audience even now.In the same year she tasted Tamil waters with "Rendu" directed by Sundar C, she shared screen space with Madhavan and the fim didn't run up to he mark.Later she shaked legs with "Mega Star Chiranjeevi" in a special song in "Stalin" got very good response. On the advice of her friends & well wishers Anushka started concentrating on Telugu movies much, which made her sign more interesting and good projects. Eventually by the end of 2007 she had two releases one was "Lakshyam" directed by SriVaas while Gopichand is male lead, it was a tremendous hit. The movie had a great story line and a captivating screen play which made the movie a wholesome family entertainer and a run way hit. The chemistry between the hero and heroine worked out so well that evennow it is one of the most sought after pair. The second movie was "Don" which had Nagarjuna playing the role of a Don directed by Choreographer turned Director Raghava Lawrrence. This movie was released in the last month of 2007 and stood as average at box-office. Though she had two releases in 2007 she was the busiest heroine by the end of the year as she had 6 big projects in hand. Arundathi of M ShyamPrasad Reddy, Okka Magadu by YVS Choudary, Swagatam by Dasarath, Baladoor withRavi Teja, Souryam with Gopichand, Chintakayala Ravi with Venkatesh were inshooting stage."Okka Magadu" opposite Balakrishna was her first release in 2008 directed by YVS Choudary But the film which has so many un-answered questions sanked without trace at Box-Office. "Swagatham" was her next release directed by Dasarath. It had Jagapathi Babu, Bhumika and Arjun along with Anushka. The movie earned a good publicity through mouth talk that it was a clean movie .The Vikramarkudu hit pair Anushka and Ravi Teja tried to hit again with "Baladoor" but were'nt successful, but Gopichand and Anushka were able to hit the bulls eye again with "Shouryam". The next release of Anushka was "Chintakayala Ravi", it was a cool and a comic entertainer with slight sentimental touch. This movie was more talked about the stylish costumes wornby Hero and Heroine. This movie was one of the best and decent performances ofAnushka till then. A special appearance in Nagarjuna's movie "King" was the last release of her in 2008. Thus she was seen in 6 movies that year. The year 2009 can be termed as big milestone in her career as it was the same year that "Arundathi", a female oriented movie was released. She became famous as "Jejamma" with this movie. This movie started its shooting way back in 2006 along with Vikramarkudu, but as the script and story demanded it took much longer time than expected. This was a magnanimous hit that year and made all South India look at her. She shocked every one with her performance that made offers pour infront of her. She was offered all major roles in big projects like, Khaleja, Kedi, Panchakshari, Vedam, Takita Takita,Chandramukhi2, Kanchana, Veera etc... Arundathi was released in all South Indian languages including Simhali (Sri Lankan language). After riding high on the success of Arundathi immediate next movie of Anushka was Billa with Prabhas, this was acomplete opposite to the role that Anushka played in Arundathi.This film stoodup as a hit at box-office and she got very good appreciation as lady Bond.By the end of that year she made a re-entry into Tamil films with Vijay in Vettikaran which was a decent Hit. Anushka started 2010 with a cameo appearance in Nagarjuna's movie Kedi. In a span of three weeks three big movies of Anushka were released in the months of may –june. The first being Singam with Surya, the movie was a block buster in Tamil and was dubbed as Yamudu in Telugu later. The immediate week Krish's Vedam was released, it got a great response to Anushka and set one more milestone in her career. Her character"Amalapuram Saroja" have to be mentioned, how often we see a top heroine daring to do a role of prostitute and is being accepted,really hats off to her brave decision. The next week audience saw Anushka as"Panchakshari" in Samudra directed movie. This movie had so many flaws in it, only Anushka was the saving grace for the movie. Later done a cameo role in Thakita Thakita movie and then came Most awaited movie with Mahesh Babu under Trivikram's direction "Khaleja",movie stood a an average but Anushka has scored good marks for her role and had a nice chemistry with Mahesh . Anushka's songs were specially directed by two super directors for two different movies. Krishna Vamshi directed a song on Anushka and Jagapathi Babu for Swagatham, Director K Raghavendra Rao directed her introduction song in Vedam. Now upcoming movies are "Nagavalli" 2nd part to Chandramukhi with Venkatesh, "Rebel" with Prabhas under Lawrence direction, a movie Titled "Ragada" with Nagarjuna and another movie with Nagarjuna in R.R.Movie Baner,a Tamil movie "Deiva Magan" with Vikram and Tamil film "Vaanam" a Telugu remake of Vedam are the forth coming movies of Anushka . Anushka recently completed 5 years of her successful career. She acted in 23 films which include both Tamil and Telugu movies with a good success rate. She is paired with almost all the top heroes in the Industries.It has been a journey of mixed emotions which enjoys the success and learns from failures.
