- cofag sp. atk will ohko poisoned offensive mew after rocks or poison and 2hko poisoned non av max hp azu after rocks or poison as well. sdef allows cofag to live specs modest zone thunder and safely pain split to scout from full. Rest goes into physdef to tank shit like azu, gliscor eqs, alolan sandslash etc.
- empo needs max speed/max sp.atk to have the best matchup possible vs zone. Hydro is wanted bc scald misses ohkos vs moltres, gliscor and 2hkos vs av incineroar, quagsire, and offensive mew. Flash cannon will hit sylveon/kyurem/abomasnow and hp ground just to fuck up zone.
- dragonite outspeeds sylveon, and by extension scarf sylveon after a single DD. the attack allows killing 240 hp sylveon after rocks with +1 z-fly, and the hp/sdef allows it to avoid the 2hko from timid zone tbolt.
- max/max defense slowking isn't great bc u dont really beat azu anyway and gliscor/sandslash is covered by cofag, and scald doesn't do enough to av incineroar to warrant bold colbur. Sdef helps vs specs kyurem, offensive moltres, sylveon, offensive mew, even weak magnezone will lose to +1 slowking. Given spread avoids 2hko from specs sylveon hyper voice with leftovers, no rocks.
- 220 attack is all i need to ohko 240 hp sylveon after rocks and keep the 2hko on max/max quagsire, max speed jolly is a surprise and should outpace mons like incineroar, jellicent, azumarill, and potentially even sylveon/magnezone. Play rough hits everything and sucker punch will wreck weakened magnezone, moltres, etc etc. Facade is there to lure out the ice beam wisp mew and clear the path for dnite, and will in general ensure mawile keeps blowing up mons even after getting wispd from shit like incineroar, moltres, jellicent, or mew.
- Hippo's helmet was mostly there to help chip crucial mons like azu/incineroar and in general will act as an electric immunity for magnezone, get up rocks, whirlwind any weird SD gliscors, and just mostly switch into banded play roughs/superpowers from azu lol. the sdef lets it avoid 2hko from modest non-specs zone flash cannon, and the rest goes to physdef to tank as many banded play roughs/superpowers as possible.
