179. OTHER:
180.

181. Dogwood is extremely neurotic. Among his "quirks" is a long list of irrational fears, paranoias, and superstitions. While ultimately kind and diligent, he is easily frightened.
182.

History

183.
184.
Dogwood was born in the arid nation of Tirol, far to the east of Tidehaven. As a young man, Dogwood was never in good health, and often found himself confined to his room, or the library where his mother worked. Frequently incapable of honing his body (or his social skills), Dogwood honed his mind instead. He consumed book after book and lesson after lesson. History, literature, science and mathematics were all subjects that the young Dogwood devoured at a voracious rate. His parents encouraged their son to take in every scrap of information he could find. When he was not reading, Dogwood was solving puzzles and riddles, or pestering other library regulars for stories and their own insights. By the time he was in his late teens, Dogwood's constitution had improved drastically, to the point where one would never believe he had been a sickly child. It was just as well, too, seeing as he had read every book in his town's library. His quirks and affinity for knowledge, however, remained unchanged.
185. .

186.
187.
Dogwood's improved health allowed him to roam further through town. He began to explore on his own. He took in the local landmarks and sites of antiquity and learning. It was in such a college, that he discovered an affinity for magic. With a perfect memory, Dogwood was easily able to replicate any spell he had already experienced before. His analytical mind lent itself well to the material magics. The young mage proved just as adept at transmutation and potion making as he did at shooting lightning from his hands. His favorite subject, however, was arcane history. Like the books of the library he grew up in, Dogwood also absorbed these lessons at a prodigious rate. For the next several years, he traveled from college to college to learn all he could. Once he could work up the courage, he even began to travel abroad to learn other nations' secrets of the arcane.

188.
189.
190.
Upon returning home, Dogwood easily found a place within the Hunters of Tirol. A division of the College of Tirol, the Hunters' jobs was the acquisition of anything that the College deemed significant to their studies (which was a broad spectrum of artifacts, knowledge, flora or fauna) by any means that the Hunters deemed necessary (provided, of course, it was non-detrimental to the object in question or those who held it). Most frequently, this meant remote postings or long pilgrimages, keeping eyes and ears out for that which would interest the Hunters' patrons. Dogwood's posting has taken him around the world several times, and his thorough attention to detail has placed him among the College's favorites, even if the man himself is more than a little eccentric. It is this posting that has brought the mage to Tidehaven, and not for the first time.

197. Eidetic Casting:
198.

199. With a perfect memory, Dogwood is capable of casting any spell he has seen before, provided that it has simple requirements and he understands the method behind it. For instance, after reading a fire spell or seeing another mage cast it with only a verbal or somatic requirement, Dogwood would be able to replicate it. He could not replicate a spell that requires ingredients he does not have or makes use of a technique he does not understand.
200.

201. Arcane Litanies:
202.

203. Dogwood's body is covered in tattoos, which writhe and often creep across his body. While the exact nature of these tattoos is known to few, it is understood that they enhance his own magical abilities in some way.
204.

205. Magical Sonar
206.

207. Owed as much to his paranoia, as his insatiable curiosity, Dogwood is constantly "pinging" for magic around him. Whether looking for a spell being cast, an enchantment already in place or simply something different, Dogwood will probably sense it.
208.

209. Battlemage:
210.

211. Dogwood is no stranger to protecting himself. He is uneasy in combat, and would much rather leave the fighting to his more martial companions, but his mastery of battlemagic is terrifying to behold once he is roused to casting it. Far from the battlemage his brother or father are, Dogwood is much more interested in staying alive than he is in any practical pacifism. He is however, physically weak and relies on magic completely to survive in a combat situation.
212.

213. Schools of Magic:
214.

215. A longtime student of magic, Dogwood is proficient in several schools of magic: Battlemagic (pyromancy, fulmination, geomancy, ectomancy, ferromancy, biomancy, etc), runes, alchemy, illusiomancy, restoration, and diabolism.
