Pokemon Red Arbok% Glitchless Route

NOTE: This route is pretty rough in a lot of areas, reroutes are welcome.

PALLET TOWN
- Options: Fast, Off, Shift
- Choose Squirtle, and give it a 1-character name
- Rival battle: Tail Whip once, then spam Tackle

ROUTE 1
- Kill a Lv. 2-3 pokemon using Tackle (pref. not Lv. 3 Pidgey)

VIRIDIAN CITY
- Buy 4 Poke Balls
- Do nido manip
- Get tree potion if no triple

VIRIDIAN FOREST
- pick up the antidote
- middle, right, middle
- Weedle Guy: Tail Whip x2, Tackle x4-6
- Get hidden potion

PEWTER CITY
- Skip mart for now, go to gym

PEWTER GYM
- Switch Nido, heal if 1-7 HP
- Brock:
     > Geodude:
          > Swap to Squirtle, Bubble spam
     > Onix:
          > Switch to Nido
          > Swap to Squirtle, Bubble spam
IMPORTANT: After fight, change the battle style option from SHIFT to SET.

PEWTER CITY
- Go to mart
- Buy 10 potions
- Go to route 3

ROUTE 3
- Save horn attacks, use tackle when possible
- Bug Catcher 1: Leer+HA+HA, Leer+HA+Tackle/HA, Leer+HA+Tackle
- Menu:
     > Toss antidote
     > Heal to 25+
- Shorts Guy: Leer+HA+HA on both
     > Heal if necessary
- Bug Catcher 2: HA+HA/Tackle, HA+HA+HA, HA+HA, HA+HA+Tackle
- If 3 HP, use 2 potions
- Bug Catcher 3: HA+HA, HA+HA+HA+HA
NOTE: don't go right from the stairs, otherwise the Lass loads
> If at 5-8 HP, don't heal until after Paras.
- If no trip: catch Spearow or Pidgey in the grass
     > HA (if you have >3) on Lv. 8 Pidgey
     > Tackle for everything else
> If 9+ HP: heal to 36+ HP
- Do moon manip

MT. MOON
- If Mt. Moon manip fails, do PoY manip:
     > IMPORTANT: Heal to 36+ HP if red bar!
- Rocket: HA+HA(+PS), Leer+HA/Tackle+HA
     > Zubat:
          > If confused:
               > 0 Tail Whips: heal if 1-16 HP
               > 1 Tail Whip: heal if 1-26 HP
               > 2 Tail Whips: heal if 1-34 HP
          > If not:
               > 0 Tail Whips: heal if 1-7 HP
               > 1 Tail Whip: heal if 1-11 HP
               > 2 Tail Whips: heal if 1-13 HP
- One tile before the Super Nerd:
     > Use the Rare Candy (slot 5)
     > Teach Water Gun (TM12) over Tackle (slot 4)
     > Use the Moon Stone (slot 6)
     > Teach Mega Punch (TM01) over Leer (slot 5)
- Super Nerd: MP+MP/WG, MP(+PS), MP+MP
     > Koffing: can also do HA+MP(WG if HA crits)
- Choose the Helix Fossil
- If you don't have a Paras, use the backup manip

ROUTE 5
- NOTE: It may be worth it to reroute with this manip instead (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0_f8wvRY7I). Level 12, but worse DVs.
        However, this current route uses a different manip, as seen below.
- Pause above first ledge to grass
     > Switch Nido with Squirtle
     > Change options to "Shift"
     > Save

- Get the hidden Rare Candy
- In house:

- Rival:

     > Abra: switch to Ekans, Leer, Wrap spam (kill with PS)
     > Rat: SAY NO, switch to Nido, HA+PS
     > Bulba: switch to Ekans, swap to Nido, MP+HA
          > heal if necessary
- Bug Catcher: PS x4, SAY NO, Leer x2, Wrap spam (kill with PS)
- Take center
- Lass:
     > Pidgey: Swap to Nido, HA x2
     > Nido: Switch to Ekans, Leer x2, Wrap spam
- Heal Ekans to 25+
- Youngster:

- SKIP THE ETHER
- Say yes to Bill
- After the Bill cutscene:
     > use Escape Rope (slot 3)

CERULEAN CITY
- Take center
- Get Instant Text
- Walk through the Dig house to fight the Rocket
- Rocket:
     > Machop: Wrap spam (kill with PS if possible)
     > Drowzee: Wrap spam (kill with Bite)
- Go to the underground
- Menu upon entering:
     > heal Ekans
     > Teach TM28, Dig, over Leer (slot 2)
- Take the Full Restore

ROUTE 6
- Walk LEFT, fight the guy on the left
- Bug Catcher:
     > Dig+Bite, Bite x2 + PS, Dig+Bite
- Menu:
     > Heal to full with potions
     > use rare candy
- Walk around to the mandatory trainers
- Jr. Trainer-F: Bite x2(+PS)
     > sac bird if Sand Attacked twice
     > heal if <15 HP
- Heal to full
- Jr. Trainer-M: Wrap+Bite, Dig x2

VERMILION CITY
- Get the Bike Voucher
- Go to the mart
     - Sell TM34
     - Buy 6 Supers, 6 Repels, and 2 Para Heals
- Go to the S.S. Anne

S.S. ANNE
- Enter the 4th door on the left
- Walk down+right
- Trainer: Dig
- Pick up TM08
- Menu immediately:
     > Heal to full (pref. with super)
     > Teach TM08, Body Slam, over Poison Sting (slot 3)
- Fight the trainer at the top-right
- Trainer: Swap Wrap with BS, BS x2, Dig
- Go upstairs and enter the 4th room
- Gentleman: Dig x2
- Take the rare candy
- Menu after leaving:
     > (heal above 30 HP if necessary)
     > use rare candy (DON'T MASH EVO)
- Rival: BS x2, BS x2, BS, Dig+BS (+Bites)
     > sac bird or paras if Sand Attacked
     > don't worry about PP
- Get HM01
- Leave

VERMILION CITY
- Go to Diglett Cave
- Dig back to Cerulean
- Take center
- Get bike from shop
- Menu:
     > Swap slot 1 with Bike
     > Teach HM01 to Paras
     > toss potions
     > bike to gym

CERULEAN GYM
- Jr. Trainer: BS x2

- Misty:
     > BS x2
     > BS spam
          > If turn 1 X Defend:
               > Sac bird
               > Sac Squirtle (Tail Whip until dead)
          > If turn 1 BB crit:

- Bike to cut bush, go to Vermillion

VERMILLION CITY
- Cut the bush
- GET OFF BIKE
- Menu:
     > Heal above 45 HP
     > Save and reset
- Do cans manip
     > start with 2 A-press version, do 0 if IGT
- Surge: Dig, BS, Dig
- Bike to Voucher house, use Dig
- Take Cerulean center
- use Bike, cut the bush

ROUTE 9
- Jr. Trainer: Dig, BS, Dig, BS
- Bug Catcher: BS x2, Bite x2
- (can get hidden super potion)
- Bike to tunnel

ROCK TUNNEL
- Use repel
- Pokemaniac 1:
     > Cubone: BS+Wrap+Dig
          > If hit by growl, sac something (NOT bird)
     > Slowpoke: Wrap until half health, BS
     > If 1-24 HP, switch and use super potion
- Heal above 55 HP
- Pokemaniac 2: Wrap + Dig x2
     > If confused, sac bird
     > If you miss first Wrap, sac Nido, heal Arbok
- Jr. Trainer: BS+Bite, BS+Bite
     > If paralyzed, use Para Heal while on Bulba
- Use repel
- Use repel before the Hiker
- SAVE
- Hiker: Dig spam
     > try to keep at least 1 Dig
- Jr. Trainer: BS, Dig, BS
     > Can BS x2 Oddish if 0 Digs
     > if paralyzed, use para heal. If none, take lavender center

ROUTE 8
- Gambler: Dig x2
     > If 0 Digs, use BS
- Pick up the hidden Elixer in the underground
- GET HIDDEN NUGGET

CELADON CITY
- Take center
- Bike to the mart
- 2F:
     > Sell:
          > both nuggets
          > TM24
          > TM11
     > Buy 7 Super Repels
- 4F: Buy 1 Poke Doll
- 6F: Buy 1 Soda Pop. Give it to the girl for TM48, then buy
1 Fresh Water
- 5F:
      > 8 X Accs
      > 3 X Speeds
      > 27 X Atks
- Take the elevator to 1F, then leave
- Bike west, cut the bush, get HM02.
- Upon exiting the house:
          > Swap slot 3 with Super Repel
          > Teach TM48 (Rock Slide) over Wrap
          > Use Super repel
          > Swap slot 2 with X Atk
          > Teach HM02 (Fly) to your flier
- Fly to Lavender
- Walk to the tower

LAVENDER TOWER
- Rival: X Atk, (X Acc if Sanded), RS x2, BS x2, Dig
- Channeler (4F): RS x2
     > Can use Dig x2 to be safe
- Get the Elixer
- GET THE HIDDEN ELIXER
- Take the free heal on 5F
- Channeler 2 and 3: Dig
- Get the Rare Candy
- Ghost:
     > use the Poke Doll
- Rocket 1: BS x4
- Rocket 2: X Atk, Dig, BS
- Rocket 3: BS x5
- Talk to Mr. Fuji

LAVENDER TOWN
- Get the Poke Flute
- Walk out and Fly to Celadon City

- Take center
- Bike to Snorlax
- Snorlax menu:
     > Use Repel
     > Swap slot 5 with Rare Candy
     > Use the Poke Flute
- Run from the Snorlax
- Get the Rare Candy
- Go past the top fence to enter Fuschia, fly to Celadon

- Bike to Silph Co.

SILPH CO.
- Take the elevator to 10F
- Go to bottom left room
- Rocket: BS x2 + Dig
- Pick up the left item, then the middle item
- Take the elevator to the 5th floor
- Menu:
     > use super potion
     > swap slot 4 with X Accs
     > Teach TM26, EQ, over Bite
     > use all 3 rare candies
- Get the Elixer from the bottom of the right tree
- Rocket: EQ
- Get the card key
- Rival:
     > X Atk x2, X Acc, X Speed
          > (Super potion if 1-50 HP)
     > RS x2, BS, EQ x3
- Dig out
- Fly to Fuschia
- Bike to Safari Zone

SAFARI ZONE
- Upon entering:
     > Use Super Repel
     > Use Bike
- Get the Full Restore
- Use repel before Skull Bash in area 3
- Get protein (north item in Area 3)
- Get the Gold Teeth
- Get Double Team TM
- Get HM03 from the guy in the house
- Walk outside
- Dig

     > use poke flute if asleep

- Fly to Pallet town

- Face the water

     > Surf, head south
- enter the mansion

- Skip TM14, hit statue
- Hit the statue in the Northeast room
- Take the rare candy in the north room
- Get the hidden rare candy
- Get the Secret Key

- Fly to Cinnabar
