  1. INTERMISSION: First time the act curtains are seen in real action. Here's what Hussie had to say when the Intermission first began:
  2.
  3. "I felt like doing something a little different for a while, and perhaps this is my way of unwinding after the recent animation binge. Besides, I've got some stuff to organize before I dive back into the HS storyline, so we all might as well tune into this adventure rather than waiting around staring at a lot of nothing.
  4.
  5. I'm thinking the MC intermission will go on for two weeks, max. It'll be a fun change of pace. Plus try not to be altogether floored if it turns out what's going on here isn't completely unrelated to the events in the HS universe. Though maybe you were suspecting that already."
  6.
  7. The Intermission turned out to be closer to a month in length.
  8.
  9. [I] SS: Captchalogue carriage clock.: The Midnight Crew's inventory system is an inverse of the one seen in Problem Sleuth, which had 5 slots for items and 1 for a weapon.
  10.
  11. [I] SS: Build fort with clocks.: Building forts was an activity that gained vital importance in Problem Sleuth. Yes, there are going to be a lot of PS references.
  12.
  13. [I] SS: Check for traps under the billiards rug.: The picture is of Jeff Foxworthy, also seen on Jane's wall of posters. The other place this picture is seen is inside of Dad's wallet. Since all human items on Alternia seem to have been the ones brought inside Dad's wallet (+ Lil Cal) it's a reasonable conclusion that this picture was as well.
  14.
  15. [I] SS: Play 52 pickup.: 52 pickup was the same game that set off the events of the MC story seen inside of Homestuck.
  16.
  17. [I] SS: Open war chest.: The picture used for the Crosbytop is the same one seen in Dad's room. The Crosbytop is of course a joke on the Cosbytop, in the same was that Dad's adoration of Bing Crosby mirrors John's adoration of Bill Cosby.
  18.
  19. [I] SS: Go to mspaintadventures.com.: The Crosbytop blinks, probably a much-touted feature of its propietary crOSby technology. You can see a glimpse of the MSPA page, now in its next-to-last site layout, and a 413 as the system time.
  20.
  21. [I] SS: Wonder where the number 8 mugshot went.: Snowman's name has the O in black text to make it look like an 8-ball.
  22.
  23. [I] CD: Punch clocks in faces to establish chronology.: A reference to "Punch ___ in snout to establish superiority", another Problem Sleuth favorite.
  24.
  25. [I] ==> (1193): RETCON WATCH: Big 'ol splotch of oil among the playing cards.
  26.
  27. [I] CD: Forget you are CD. Believe you are Hearts Boxcars.: RETCON WATCH: Arm coming out of the clock at the top-right.
  28.
  29. [I] ==> (1202): The same 'WHOP' graphic from when Jack got punched by Dad.
  30.
  31. [I] ==> (1215): The presence of both of Alternia's moons in the sky means that the Intermission takes place on Alternia itself. I mean, it's the only possibility when you think about how Sburb works, but the wholly green mansion creates a subconscious association with the green moon, and Doc Scratch's abode.
  32.
  33. [I] HB: Call Clubs on nearest card.: The radio is represented by a ten and a four card, after the phrase 'ten-four', used to acknowledge a received message.
  34.
  35. [I] ==> (1224): The oven does have the special ability of holding things much larger than the space inside it.
  36.
  37. [I] SS: Help the green man live up to his name.: 'Cuz his name is Die. Like, dying.
