Broken bones

Covet: Felix had gathered his bag up and was making his way out of the library from work, and down the hallway towards the exit. He ran a hand through his hair, and was looking down at his phone to set his music up for the drive home.
Alexithymiaa: -Steph had been lingering in the cafeteria at one of the tables trying to get some studying done away from the library because she knew if she went in there she would just be talking to Felix the entire time and no studying would happen. She was waiting for him to get done with work so they could head home together.-
Covet: Felix made his way over to the cafeteria tables where he was scheduled to meet up with Steph. Seeing her at one of the tables he made his way over and gave her chair a bit of a kick. "I am free."
Alexithymiaa: -She picked her head up from her book when he kicked her chair, squinting at him. "Rude." Beginning to pack her things, she stood up from her chair and collected her couple of books, holding them out toward him. "Can you put these in your bag?"-
Covet: "Sure thing." Felix said as he took the books and swung his bag around his neck to put them into his bag. "I'm not rude. I was just getting your attention."
Alexithymiaa: "Names work fine too." She said a little shortly because she was just a little concerned about upcoming finals next week. She started toward the doors to the outside, glancing over at him. "Did you do anything at work today?"-
Covet: "Umm, I worked?" He said with a shrug. "It was pretty uneventful." He told her as he walked towards the door with her. "Kind of getting psyched for basketball season coming up."
Alexithymiaa: (Ow.)
Alexithymiaa: "Oh yeah, are you ready for that or do we need to whip you into shape?" She asked with a laugh, pushing through the doors to step outside. "I'm a little disappointed swimming season is ending and I never actually got a chance to swim a ranked spot. Everyone else on the team is so much faster than I am, regardless of how much I practice." // Keegan had been sitting in the parking lot waiting for them in her car. She'd watched for a couple of weeks to get the schedule down and had noticed they always walked out together around this time. If she could get two birds with one stone, why not?-
Covet: [lol why ow?]
Covet: "Pfft, I'm always ready, what are you talking about?" He told her taking her hand. " But.. did you have fun doing it? And has it helped?" He asked her with a soft look.
Alexithymiaa: (Dramatic irony)
Alexithymiaa: "I'm talking about your cake eating habits, Arizona." She said with a laugh, lacing her fingers with his and stepping down off the curb to begin their venture across the parking lot toward the Jeep. "I did have fun, but I dont really feel like my competitive side was sated. I have too much drive to just sit back and watch everyone else do the competing. It's a team, yeah, but it's not the same. And now that it's ending I'm going to need to find something else to fill that little void." // Keegan started her car, slowly backing up out of her spot on the opposite end of the parking lot.-
Covet: "Shhh, it's okay to have a treat from time to time." He told her as they walked along. "Well that just means you need to keep with it, in the off season so that you can be in a ranked spot next year."
Alexithymiaa: "And is time to time everyday?" She smirked, continuing on. "Of course I'm going to, but practicing and swimming on my own isn't the same. I'd still like to find something that I can compete at. Or a team I can join. I don't know, something to keep my busy and out of trouble." She said, stopping and giving his hand a tug to pull him closer to her. "If I spend too much time with you I'm bound to find myself in trouble. Trespassing or something ridiculous..." // Keegan turned the corner so they were straight ahead of her, pushing her foot into the gas pedal hard so the car accelerated quickly, gunning for them like a crazy bitch.-
Covet: "Yep. It's about balance." He told her with a shrug. " Hey I like to think I've been doing pretty good about keeping you out of trouble." He said with a laugh. "And the tresspassing we do has been mostly harmless." He said rolling his eyes. Then he heard an engine he turned his head just a moment to see a vehicle coming for them. He let go of her hand and pushed her out of the way then braced himself for the impact because he knew he wasn't going to get out of the way in time.
Alexithymiaa: "That doesn't seem like balance." She said with a roll of her eyes, turning also to look in the direction of the car. She felt the force of Felix pushing her out of the back, stumbling backwards on her heels and falling to the ground on her hands and butt, ripping her tights a bit and getting a little road rash on her hands. // Keegan kept tearing forward, barreling straight into Felix at about 40-50 mph which was the only speed she'd managed to build up in the small stretch she'd gone in the parking lot. She didn't slow when she ran right into him, pushing through despite the fact that his body definitely cracked her windshield and dented her car. Pushing harder on the pedal, she tore off through the parking lot, leaving the scene as fast as she could.-
Covet: Felix rolled up the hood of Keegan's car feeling a couple of snaps and breaks, unsure which was him and which was the winsheild, before he rolled to the ground groaning out in pain. "Fuck...Steph... are you okay?" He asked her with a groan from the ground. He and tried to get up, but was unable to put any weight on his arm.
Alexithymiaa: -She'd literally watched the whole thing in front of her as he rolled over the car, her voice escaping her throat in a shrill shriek. "Felix!" She tore off after him, dropping down to her knees and instantly putting her hands on his head. "Don't move, stop." Her eyes scanned him over, not seeing anything very obviously wrong, but he was wearing heavy clothing so it was hard to tell. "Can you wiggle your toes?" She asked as she fumbled for her phone.-
Covet: "My toes are fine, my chest kind of hurts and I can't wiggle my fingers on my left hand." He said laying back on the ground. "Who the fuck was that?" He asked in pain, groaning out. "Fuck!... What about you, are you okay?"
Alexithymiaa: "It's not about your toes, it's about your spine and your neck." She said quickly because gymnastics injuries taught you what to check when you fall from fifteen feet in the air. She dialed 911, putting the phone to her ear and speaking frantically. "I need medical assistance to the Northwest State campus. North promenade parking lot. There was a hit and run." She dropped her phone down onto the ground, focusing on him again. "I'm fine, don't worry about me. Just keep still." She leaned over to take his left hand gently in hers. "Tell me if this hurts." Sh every gently pressed her thumb into his wrist. "I didn't see who was driving, but it looked like Keegan's car."-
Covet: "My neck hurts, but not like spinal, it's like... in my shoulders." He said then groaned out as she pushed her thumb into hist wrist, "OW FUCK YES, It hurts!" He said just kind of laying back trying to ignore the pain, " Of course it was her. I swear to god this is the last thing she willl ever do. I'm done with this shit."
Alexithymiaa: "Okay okay okay." She said quickly, easing up on his wrist and instead sort of just craddling his arm in her hand because she was fairly certain it was broken. The sirens could be heard pulling into the parking lot as the ambulance raced over to them, stopping short. She'd instantly felt a pang of guilt because she knew that if she hadnt ignored the problem for this long, Felix probably wouldn't have gotten hurt. // Paramedics rushed over to them, leaning in to begin inspecting Felix since he was the clear one in distress and need of medical attention. They shined flashlights in his eyes and were in the process of applying a brace to his neck. Protocol.-
Covet: "Guys all this really isn't necessary. I'm mostlly fine. The pain is in my shoulders and arms." He said groaning at the fuss they were making. "Are the cops here, I need to tell them who did this. The bitch shouldn't get away with this crap again. This is too far." He said making a fuss about all of that stuff.
Covet: *arm
Alexithymiaa: "Felix, let them take care of you." She said quickly, taking a step back out of their way so they could tend to him. She put her hand over her mouth, struggling to keep her shit together because she was just completely overwhelmed with everything happening right now. // "The cops will follow you to the hospital to take your statement after you've been seen by a doctor." They told him quickly because the paramedics were trying to do their fucking jobs and take care of him. One of them brought a stretcher out to him, lowering it down onto the ground so they could transfer him. Also protocol if you call an ambulance, you must be taken to the hospital. Found that out once.-
Covet: [oh snap]
Alexithymiaa: (My dad broke up a fight between my asshole cousin and some neighbors and my dad ended up getting stabbed in the leg. It wasnt terribly serious, but they called 911. When the ambulance showed up, they removed the knife and bandaged him, but protocol required them to take him to the hospital. He was not pleased.)
Covet: Felix groaned, "But seriously... Fine, oh my god. Just hurry and get me there then." He said rolling his eyes as he laid back on the stretcher. "Steph, I'm fine, please don't panic." He said calling out to her.
Covet: [Here you can deny it, but it's one of those signing a waver thing doing it against medical advice and such. But that's because there's such a distance here. There are some things that can't pass on, heart attacks...etc. but for little stuff they show up , bandage people and make sure they're good then they go back to the station
Alexithymiaa: (I just remember him fighting with them about not wanting to go and theyre like "We cant leave without you in the truck" so he gave in and bitched the entire way there.)
Alexithymiaa: (Only time I rode in an ambulance.)
Covet: [haha he was going to make them regret it. XD]
Alexithymiaa: -She bite down on her nails as she watched them loading him into the ambulance, going over to pick up her phone as she pushed her fingers into the screen to text Cadence. "I'm coming with you!" She called out as she walked behind them.-
Covet: "But what about the jeep?" Felix complained, then whined out as they went about acessing his arm on their way that direction. "OW that hurts!" He called out.
Alexithymiaa: -She shoved her phone down into her pocket and climbed into the back of the ambulance, taking a seat out of their way and reaching her hand out to lay it over his leg because she wanted him to know she was still there even if he couldnt actually look around or anything witht he neck brace on. // The ambulance sped out of the parking lot and in the direction of the hospital. Fortunately, campus wasn't far so it would only take them a few minutes to arrive. There wasn't a lot the paramedics could really do for a broken arm, so it was more just getting him to the hospital for x-rays and such.-
Alexithymiaa: (NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE JEEP, FELIX.)
Covet: "Can't you guys give me some sort of pain reliever or something. The shock is wearing off, and the pain is really starting to hurt. It feels like my chest is throbbing." He continued to whine, then gave a look at Steph with his eyes only, "Hey stop looking so worried, It looks way worse than it actually is. I promise."
Alexithymiaa: -She nodded her head at him despite the fact that her face didnt change because nothing that came out of his mouth was going to change her worry for him right now. When they pulled into the hospital lot and the back doors open, she climbed out, staying with them as they wheeled him into the hospital. // The paramedics made their way in with him, passing off the information about his condition to a nurse who was taking over for them. "Ma'am, you're going to need to wait out here until we have him examined." She spoke, preventing Steph from following where they were wheeling him for x-rays.-
Covet: "She can't even come back with me and just wait outside the door?" Felix complained as they brought him back. "Please let her do that much, it's for her sake not mine. This is so dumb." // Cadence had been in the waiting room and had seen the ambulance pull up. She walked around to the entry way to see Steph calling out to her. "Hey, how's he doing?" She asked, then looked back at Trick who was in his carseat snoozing away.
Alexithymiaa: (Steph: How is he? Nurse: He has done nothing but complain since we wheeled him in. please take him home. Please.)
Covet: [hahahaha]
Alexithymiaa: (His room is the one the nurses ignore the help button to)
Covet: [Felix: Stop ignoring me, my pillows are flat!]
Alexithymiaa: -Steph just stood there as they wheeled him beyond the doors, staring straight ahead of her like he was going to magically come back through them any second. When she heard Cadence's voice, she turned toward her, walking forward and throwing her arms around her friend as she broke down into tears. // "Sir, please. Once we're finished she's welcome to come in. It's for everyone's best interest." The nurse said as they rolled him into the x-ray room, setting up the machine and getting the lead vest to cover his organs.-
Alexithymiaa: (Nurse: -turns buzzer volume down-)
Covet: Cadence wrapped her arms around Steph. "Hey, it's okay. He sounds more or less fine. He'll be good." She told her comforting her. // Felix sighed and whined out at the weight of the vest on him. " Please hurry, this thing is heavy." He told them. "I'm sure there's at least a break." Felix said as if that was helpful at all.
Alexithymiaa: -She eased back from her, rubbing her hand over her cheeks to swipe away some of her tears. "It could have been so much worse. It was like I saw it happen in slow motion. And he pushed me out of the way. He very well could have just saved my life. And if I'm right about that being Keegan, she came after him because of me." // The nurse bustled around him, setting up the camera angle and then stepping out of the room to take the x-ray of his arm first. She then stepped back in, gently turning the angle of his arm and desperately trying to ignore his whining.-
Covet: "Yeah, well this is the least of her problems right now because I'm going to kill her." Cadence told Steph. // Felix groaned out as he was shifted about. "OWWWW!" He said trying not to move too much. "Anything for the pain... this is really hurting."
Alexithymiaa: "You? If I wasnt so worried about him, I'd be looking for her right now." She said, blinking back more tears. She turned to look at the doors again, thinking she heard something, but she's just imagining them calling her in. "What if it's something more than what he thinks it is?" // "We can't give you any sort of medication until we take your blood work." She said and exited the room again to take another x-ray. She walked back in and adjusted the vest off of him, hanging it up. "I'll send the doctor in for you."-
Covet: "Well needless to say, she's a dead bitch the next time either of us see her." Cadence told her. "C'mon. Trick will help ease you a bit. I'm sure they will figure everything out. He's strong, He's got this." She told her trying to ease her mind. // "Well then take my bloodwork now too, no need drawing out all of this." He said with a sigh. "Can Steph come in now too?" He called out after the nurse.
Alexithymiaa: -She nodded her head, looking down to Trick because his little face cheers her up. "I think he's going to resist them wanting to help him though. Ugh, is this how you guys felt with me? Why can't he just shut up and let them do their jobs and help him?" // The nurse sighed because OH MY GOD FELIX SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY. "I'll see if she wants to come in." She said in monotone to him since he was super annoying. On her way out to alert the doctor, she also talked some shit about how annoying Felix is being so that all the other nurses were well prepared for his shit. Stepping out into the waiting area, she saw Steph standing with Cadence. "You can come on back now."-
Covet: "Because like you he's stubborn." Cadence said. And I would say this is mild compared to the hell you usually give us. // "Thank you" Felix said then tried to move his fingers again but couldn't. The ache in his shoulders was getting worse too. "Fucking bitch. Stupid Keegan. I still have to talk to the cops too!" He called out.
Alexithymiaa: -She let out a deep sigh. "I guess that was fair..." She said, turning quickly when the nurse came out. Without a moments hesitation, she made a beeline for the doors, just basically short of running to follow the nurse back to his room. As she navigated the halls, she wiped at her face, not wanting him to notice she'd been crying because this was about him and not her. When she walked in, she immediately went over to him, talking a mile a minute. "Are you okay? Did they do x-rays? What did the doctor say? Are they doing a cat scan?" // The doctor wandered into Felix's room with a couple of nurses behind him prepping to set up for bloodwork. "Mr. Marlowe, I've got your x-rays here, so let's take a look." He said even though he already looked at them. Flipping the wall light on, he stuck them onto the holders and examined them. It's a show.-
Covet: "Xrays, yes, no catscan that I know of." He told her taking her hand with his good one for now. "Hey dock. Sounds good... what's the damage look like?" He asked the doctor, mostly cause he wanted to go home already because this was inconvenient as all fuck for him. // Cadence waited out in the lobby for now and sufficed with messaging Steph for updates.
Alexithymiaa: -She turned to look at the doctor as he stuck the x rays onto the light, her eyes scanning them quickly because she'd broken enough bones in her life to be able to read a damn x-ray. "Jeez..." // "So we're looking at four breaks. One in the collarbone here..." He said, gesturing with his pen. "A break in the trapezium here." He gestured to the wrist area. "And two breaks in ulna and the radius." He turned back to look at Felix. "For something like this we're going to put you in a hard cast over the forearm for a minimum of six weeks, and you'll need to wear a brace with a sling for four weeks before we revisit x-rays." // The nurses moved in, cleaning off his arm for the stabbing and sucking of blood.-
Covet: "Ouch!" Felix said to the stabbing. "Four to six weeks, but basketball starts up in three. I can't be out six weeks!" Felix said with a groan laying back on the bed. "A full cast, and a fucking sling and a brace. She's going to pay for all of this." He said going on grumbling and complainging through the rest of the process.
