- This thread was made so people can gain a better understanding of how certain abilities work, because the descriptions given in the game are a bit lacking and oftentimes completely wrong.
- Let's begin.

- Here's some info on how I have gathered data so far.
- Critical hits are extremely important. For most abilities, critical hits always hit at the same value, that value being the maximum hit. This can vary depending on pots/prayers etc, so I always test things without these. If I get a critical hit on an NPC with Slice (an ability that does 125% weapon damage) and it crits at 1250, I would know that Punish (100% weapon damage against an opponent that isn't stunned) crits at 1000 without even having to test it. Of course, I would still test it just to be sure, but these things have always remained true against an NPC.
- There is also a minimum hit, which after many hours of testing I have concluded to be 25% of an abilities maximum hit (some abilities, such as Overpower and Meteor Strike, have higher minimum hits). I have yet to find an ability which hits lower than that. This means that for most abilities, the average hit SHOULD be 62.5% of it's maximum, assuming that all hits between 25-100% of the max hit are equally as likely. If a minimum hit is found to be something other than 25% for a specific ability, it will be noted.
- So what does weapon damage refer to?
- It's supposed to be somewhat based on the damage stat, but going by that will yield unreliable results even if using weapons of the fastest attack speed. It is intuitive to think that weapon damage refers to the damage stat for your weapon on the equipment screen, but shockingly enough, it does not.
- The more reliable method of finding out exactly what this means is by simply working backwards from your ability damage values.
- Anyways, that is enough talk.
- Let's get into some abilities!
- DISCLAIMER: Some abilities work differently depending on whether you are fighting an NPC or a player.

- Here is a list of abilities that do not do what their description indicates.
- Havoc
- Crits at 125% weapon damage.
- Slaughter
- Bleeds the target 4 times for 80-200% weapon damage total.
- 120% appears to be the average due to the minimum hit being much more common than the maximum hit. Damage triples for every bleed your target isn't on the square the ability hit it at.
- Massacre
- Crits at 196% weapon damage.
- Bleeds the target 5 times for a total of 327% weapon damage, separate from the initial hit.
- Punish
- Crits at 100% weapon damage (not stunned) or 135% weapon damage (stunned) against NPCs. In PvP, this ability crits at 94% weapon damage instead of 100%. Does 125% weapon damage against stunned players.
- Dismember
- Bleeds the target 6 times for 125% weapon damage total (usually slightly less due to rounding issues). Against players, also has an initial hit that crits at 100% weapon damage.
- Fury
- Crits at 94% weapon damage and hits 4 times.

- Decimate
- Crits at 125% weapon damage (no shield) or 210% weapon damage (shield)
- Does not do bonus damage on NPCs wearing shields.
- Berserk
- Multiplies both damage dealt and received by 2.
- Frenzy
- Hits 4 times.
- Against an NPC, the first hit crits at 180% and each subsequent hit is increased by 20% (so 180%, 200%, 220%, 240%). Each individual hit cannot hit lower than 45% of the maximum hit. Against players, Frenzy appears to do exactly what Fury's description says. Four hits that all crit at 150% weapon damage.
- Snipe
- Crits at 210% weapon damage.
- Cannot hit under 45% of max hit.
- Binding Shot
- Crits at 100% weapon damage whilst stunning.
- Fragmentation Shot
- Bleeds the target 3 times for 60-105% weapon damage total.
- 70% appears to be the average due to the minimum hit being much more common than the maximum hit. Damage triples for every bleed your target isn't on the square the ability hit it at.

Against players, Unload appears to do exactly what Fury's description says (except with ranged instead of melee). Four hits that all crit at 150% weapon damage.

- Resonance
- Heals you for the amount you would have been hit.
- In PvP, all abilities appear to do about 80% (slightly more) as much damage as they do against NPCs. Resonance uses the true damage value for calculating the amount healed, not the reduced value that you would normally see in PvP.
- Revenge
- Increases your damage based on how many times you have been hit while active. It appears to increase damage output by ~7.5% per attack received on average. More data is needed.

- The following abilities only take 4.2 seconds to complete as opposed to the time it indicates in their descriptions:
- Flurry
- Fury
- Destroy
- Assault
- Frenzy
- Rapid Fire
- Unload
- Asphyxiate
- DoT abilities do not appear to be affected by anything other than level and weapon used. Prayers/dungeoneering rings appear to have no effect on them.
