I have been asked why I am short ether. . . and how I got there.

I have not always been an ether bear. I initially bought ether and did quite well until I studied the fundamentals. The awakening to the fundamentals caused me to sell all my ether way too early and even attempt shorting it. . . . always unsuccessfully. . . until now.

Just as the fundamentals led me to buy bitcoin and become a bitcoin hodler in 2013, the fundamentals of ethereum lead me to only short ethereum. I am lightly short ether now based on fundamental and technical reasons. It should be noted that eth futures are at a premium to spot (unlike bitcoin) which I consider a prerequisite for a sustained bear market. It pays for hedgers to sell ether futures to lock in mining profits.
