  1. = PART II: INTRODUCING THE SHAPERS =
  2.
  3. The Maruloix were aware that they were abandoned. Not wanting to lose their vibrant knowledge, Aria began to write tome after tome detailing the elementals' magic, found exploits, the combinations and subtypes, and spells. By use of magic, she extended her own life to last for hundreds and hundreds of years.
  4.
  5. Her evident immortality and ridiculous magic pool eventually earned her the title of a goddess
  6.
  7. Once several hundred years had passed--maybe even a few thousand I'm poor at deciding timeframes--and Aria was satisfied with the civilization's development, and certain she could tell no more of her magic; once she was utterly certain she served no more purpose
  8. She began to remove the precious gems and minerals
  9.
  10. (As a point of reference, we're now within 100-150 years out from modern times)
  11.
  12. She selected a handful of very powerful mages to look after the energy pools for her. Those that would continue to develop the civilization: to continue carrying on their legacy: to carry on her magic: the Shapers
  13.
  14. We have a set of Master Crystals, which have a pool of energy no mortal should have normal access to
  15.
  16. Aria began to remove the Crystals. Of course, this meant she was losing her energy pools and immortality rapidly. She entrusted the Crystals to the care of the seven Shapers before perishing pretty rapidly. (This does canonically mean the Opal was the last to be removed from Aria's body)
  17.
  18. The Shapers, masters of the elements assigned with the Crystals they were given, each respectively took them back to their varied regions of the deep blue. Col'stahlk and Maelst'urum to the Great-Atlantic ("Center"), Xi'on to the Undertow/Abyssal Plains ("Abyss"), Xe'morok to theyhavenoideawherehewent, Syp'rias to the Maldiven-Indian ("Eastern"), so-on so-forth
  19.
  20. The Shapers all kept in touch, save for Xe'morok; the reason for his disappearance is under development, but it has heavy dealings with disagreements between humans and the Maruloix.
  21.
  22. The Shapers' intention was to carry on the religion of Aria and carry out her last biddings.
  23.
  24. They believed that fragments of Aria's soul existed within the Crystals--this may or may not be religious propaganda--and that other entities out there would make a perfect match, as these entities supposedly would have another fragment of Aria's soul. To put it inti perspective, pretend the Crystal Guardians and the Crystals are all respective pieces of a puzzle they're trying to fit back together.
  25. One important reason for the Maruloix reuniting the Crystals in this way is to be ready for the return of the elementals; they believe they will be at war with the elementals again at some point in the near future.
  26.
  27. ...Because the Shapers are individual beings who will interpret the texts of a religion in different ways, eeeeeh...some weird stuff came about as they revitalized the energy pools in each respective Crystal.
  28.
  29.
  30. = SHAPERS' VIEWPOINTS: =
  31. Xi'on, believed the souls of children were crucial for Aria's sake.
  32. Col'stahlk, strong leaders
  33. Xe'morok, entities from the lands above
  34. Sp'hel -- We don't talk about Sp'hel
  35. Syp'rias - Powerful warriors of elemental magic
  36. Psi'igma - Those sound of mind
  37. Maelst'urum - Union with the elementals
