PERSONALITY:
— Meredith is what you would call a natural leader: it's easy for her to take charge in many situations. It's normal for her to make a plan and say firmly, "this is the way we're going to do it", regardless of how far-fetched her idea is. No matter how much you don't like the way she wants things to be, her smooth communication skills and subtle persuasions will have the whole group agreeing with her. However, the opportunity of leadership rarely comes toward her.
   She's proved herself as useful as a communicator. Her knowledge in Japanese, Cantonese and English can prove helpful when tackling foreigners. When has she ever needed to contact a foreigner? Once.
   She can also be a bit hot-tempered at times, even if you haven't done anything wrong. You can tell she's in a mood when she sits down, crosses her arms and won't reply to anything. This kind of behaviour happens several times a week, and the other group members have accepted this as some kind of weekly routine.
   Occasionally, these emotions will spiral out of control. When this happens, it's best to shove her in her room and leave her alone. You just have to wait until she gets tired of shouting in an empty room and decides to clean the place.
   She's also a major hypocrite. You leave things to the last minute? You'll get shouted at. If she leaves things to the last minute, it's because she's stressed, she's got a lot of things on his mind and you can shut your mouth promptly.    If you do know her, she's fucking loud. Always screaming because she's so shook, and commentating on whatever's happening as if it's being broadcasted on the radio. It will get annoying, no matter how much you love her.
   Loud isn't the only thing that gets on people's nerves. She's a huge clean freak, and will often make unnatural jarring noises if someone leaves a plate or something on the table. She doesn't wrap her Christmas presents, because mess makes her uncomfortable. This kind of behavior really gets on people's nerves, so you'd better clear up after yourself.
   She often gets what she wants, by using aegyo and whining. It really does work; you should try it sometimes.
   Now, despite her icy aura, and problematic attitude toward most people, she shows her soft, caring side, but only in front of her friends and love interest. When she's not pissed off, she's the softest bean you'll ever know.
   After finishing work, she'll throw on her favourite red sweater, curl up in a ball on the sofa and watch TV. You're not allowed to disturb her, unless you're coming to give her hot chocolate, or you're gonna snuggle with her. After this, she's guaranteed to be happy, and trust me, Meredith's smile is the cutest thing you've ever seen.
   She's actually in touch with her caring side, but it doesn't show through in front of people. If it did, people would get suspicious, because she wouldn't be behaving like the Meredith they know. You can tell it's showed if you fall asleep on the couch and wake up with a blanket around you; or if you can't afford the jacket you really wanted, and you find it sitting on your bed after a day's practise. There's a 99% chance Meredith put it there. If you ask who it was, she'll smile and whisper, "it was the fairies". One thing to know is not to confront her about it, because she'll suddenly get very flustered, and your chance of being visited by "the fairies" again gets lowered.
   In short, Meredith is a very emotional person. You can catch her in a good mood, or in a bad one. Either way, there's nothing stopping you from loving her irrationally.

BACKGROUND:
— Meredith Touhou Hirihara was born in Okayama, Japan, to a middle-class family in the winter of 1995. She grew up as an only child, and caused a lot of mischief in her younger years, always running over the neighbour's flowers and painting on her bedroom walls. She seeked attention, really. She loved Okayama, as it were a big city and she loved adventures.
   She graduated from high school at the age of 16, and attended Tokyo Film Academy. Her first group project included writing a script, and being interested in writing, she agreed. She sat on a table at Starbucks, with her MacBook, listening to music for inspiration while she sipped her pumpkin spice. A few hours later, when she was just about to leave, someone started a conversation with her: she gave her his business card and left, just as she noticed the card said SMENT.
   Whether she should audition or not was a debate, but her friends made a huge deal out of it, by telling everyone she'd become the next BoA. She enjoyed this attention a lot, and didn't want it to end: but it did eventually, because she kept stalling the audition. So, shortly after her seventeenth birthday, she auditioned for SM by performing her favourite song, and was accepted a few months later.
   She was determined to finish college, so her trainee days didn't start fully until she turned 19. She often spent her days practising, and flirting with every boy trainee, and making bets with her friends about how many of them she could kiss. She didn't really take training seriously, until she was told a new girl group was being formed, and then she went into what she liked to call maximum overdrive, where she slept two hours a day and danced until she passed out. When she heard the news of debut, she cried and hugged the CEO, even though she was told not to.
