Name: Yu Shinkokuna

Age: Yu is not weak. Yu is not held back. Yu is 12.

Appearance: Yu is pale skinned with a markedly androgynous frame. Yu is slim in all ways and yet has a very gaunt face with sunken, wide, shadowed eyes. The Shinkokuna notably has blackened sclera.

Personality: Yu tends to talk in third person a lot. Yu has trouble being emotionally connected with others because they find emotions as an active hindrance. Yu is strictly obsessed with the concept of survival, not necessarily power, but survival.

In reality, Yu simply fears emotional attachments and avoids them solely due to the risk of being heartbroken again. This causes them to come off as callous, cold, and even downright scary due to the distance they provide.

Backstory: The Shinkokuna clan is one born from a complete fluke.

From a descendent by the name of Amiri Shinkokuna, the Shinkokuna clan specialises in commanding, manipulating, and controlling the dead in a variety of different ways. Manipulating these capricious spirits has a variety of different results; whilst they can call upon their ancestors to aid them in the face of danger, or bring back a corpse to ask it brief questions, doing so always, ALWAYS Runs the risk of possession.

This dangerous practice has lead to the Shinkokuna clan being cloistered from the world. Kept far, far from the world at large, the Shinkokuna clan has instead done their studies in secret, mastering the arts of manipulating, controlling, and commanding the spirits of the place they call the 'Other World'

Yu's family was a loving one. The Shinkokuna clan, though quirky, is very family oriented. This stemmed from the fact that the Shinkokuna wish to meet each other in the afterlife; and the best way to do so is to remain closely bonded with the family so's to ensure that they will be able to meet each other on positive terms in the afterlife. To die is to not to die in the Shinkokuna clan; for their ancestry is handed down through rituals of resummoning spirits so that teachers and senseis may be everlasting.

Yu was particularly close towards their brother and sister, but unfortunately, there came...issues, with the Shinkokuna clan.

Their Kekkei Genkai is inherently flawed; and room is often left for dangerous spirits to seep into their summoning rituals, which lead to countless periods of madness, mania, and hysteria to spread throughout the Shinkokuna clan. Yu, of course, had grown accustomed to this to some degree, though they hung onto hope in trying to bond with others in order to ensure that their parents would grant them a friendly spirit when communing to them in the afterlife.

Yu's brother, who they looked up to very much, would often constantly remind Yu to enjoy family time, taking them out on ventures to enjoy themselves, communing with their old dead parents, but one day...

Yu had woken up to their sister screaming

Their brother, caught mad and drunk with rage, pulverized her sister's face. Yu, who had timidly looked in from the side, watched as her beloved brother battered his sister's face until it crunched, cracked, and splattered into a fine paste.

When he was halted by the clan, the maddened ghost that possessed her brother simply leaped from person to person, masquerading as a different person time and time again. A slaughter ensued, bit by bit, Yu watched as the 'Leaping Ghost' leaped from person to person, driving them to a murderous frenzy. Yu fled, running desperately, but found themselves accosted by one of their fellow clansmen.

Amidst the sea of hacking axes and frantic screams, Yu desperately cowered within the cabinet while the madness spread through their entire village. Nothing was left when Yu stepped out of their hiding place, they only remember crying, surrounded by blood and guts.

In their wandering, Yu found themselves lonely and sad...Fortunately, that was when the ANBU Came in after investigating the scene of the slaughter. Konaha had always been offering a potential home to the Shinkokuna, but unfortunately, the slaughter left only one survivor.

Yu lived his life as an Uchiha at that point. New family! Plus, they had strange eyes, just like Yu! This lead to a quick bond between them and their new family

Sasuke, Itachi...Ah, best fr-- oh wait we all knew how that went.

It was during Itachi's wholesale slaughter that Yu quietly reminisced and came with a new realization -- that ghost, that laughing, leaping ghost that leaped from person to person and haunted Yu their entire life...

It was family, still. It was teaching Yu a fundamental fact.

If Yu just never had family or friends, Yu would never feel heartache.

If Yu just focused on survival and never looked for friends or family, then Yu would never have to worry about them hurting them again.

Though tearful and broken from losing a family twice, Yu eventually came to terms with what had happened.

Yu does not need a family to survive.




Stats

For each stat, you have a 30, a 20, a 10, and a 0. For every 10 in a stat, you get +1 to rolls involving it.

Chakra: 30 - Yu rely on Yu's Chakra. Spirit Chakra dangerous.

Taijutsu: 0- Yu punch bad

Ninjutsu: 20 - Yu good at Ninjutsu.

Genjutsu: 10 - Yu know simple illusions. Good at telling what real and fake.

Element: Water

Ninjutsu Known: Water Clone; (3 Chakra, 1)

Substitution Jutsu (2 Chakra)

Shinkokuna Kekkei Genkai: Members of the Shinkokuna clan possess eyes form their reanimated ancestor, Amiri Shinkokuna. Their eye whites are black. Furthermore, their skin is cold as a corpse; they are often likened to a walking corpse in all facets. This makes them able to mimic dead bodies very easily.

More importantly, the Shinkokuna calling card is their Otherworldly Summoning Techniques. This allows them to summon forth spirits and the dead from the Otherworld, allowing them to perform unique techniques.
