1. ==Recommended perks==
2. Unless noted, the perks below are considered in isolation.
3.
4. ===Weapon only===
5. ;Generally always useful
6. * Precise is the single best raw damage-per-second (DPS) perk at rank 5. Rank 3 and higher are relatively easy to earn from precise components (which also provide Equilibrium). Rank 5 requires Armadyl components.
7. * Equilibrium is the next best for DPS, and is easily gotten in combination with Precise 3.
8. * Aftershock is the stronger version of Crackling, but is only good for high level gear as how often it activates is based on existing DPS. It is also fairly expensive to get, with the only sources being Anima Core of Zaros gear and the Dragon Rider lance.
9.
10. ;Situational
11. * Caroming can be useful for some slayer tasks or other weak monsters.
12. * Flanking is useful for team-based bosses where one player is the "tank" so others can get around the side. Does nothing for single-player combat.
13. * Lunging is good boost to melee combat (or if the target cannot move), but rank 3 Lunging is still less of a DPS increase than Precise 3 or Equilibrium 2.
14. * Planted Feet is useful for a weapon switch, and the damage reduction does not apply when switched back (but the increased duration remains).
15.
16. ===Armour only===
17. ;Generally always useful
18. * Devoted is a very effective damage negation perk when using protection/deflection prayers. Obviously, does not work when using Soul Split or against typeless damage. Easy (if expensive) to get in combination with Impatient.
19. * Enhanced devoted is Devoted improved by 50%, but cannot have any other perks in the gizmo. So, increased damage reduction for the loss of some damage.
20. * Absorbative is effectively a simple increase in damage reduction. Relatively easy to get in combination with Venomblood.
21. * Lucky is similar (but a little less at maximum ranks) to Absorbative in terms of effective damage reduction, but they can be used together.
22. * Crystal shield (perk) has the third highest calculated effective damage reduction of
23. these perks (after both Devoted variants), but it appears to have issues preventing it from working correctly.
24.
25. ;Situational
26. * Venomblood is useful for certain bosses (e.g. Araxxor, Gregorovic), and is fairly easy to get in combination with other perks.
27. * Perks only useful with shields:
28. ** Bulwark increases Debilitate's duration much more with a shield (due to the higher base duration). Best with a tier 90 shield.
29. ** Turtling is best with primeval/teralith/tempest equipment, as the net improvement without the passive effect (of cooldown resets) is nil.
30. ** Brief Respite improves the overall healing of Rejuvenate, but reduces the healing of Guthix's Blessing.
31.
32. ===Weapons and/or armour===
33. Perks that can be on either weapons or armour should generally go on armour, as the weapon-exclusive perks are so good and there's limited space for them.
34.
35. ;Generally always useful
36. * Impatient is a very strong DPS and tanking perk, allowing faster adrenaline generation so thresholds and ultimates can be done more often.
37. * Crackling is a good perk that adds damage occasionally. It is not as strong as Aftershock, but they can both be used.
38. * Biting increases DPS slightly less than Equilibrium, but is still strong.
39. ** Biting does not function with Equilibrium, so pick one.
40.
41. ;Situational
42. * Mobile is useful at several bosses where movement is important, and in general skilling for the increased movement speed. Commonly used on an off-hand weapon or shield while training.
43. * Undead Slayer, Dragon Slayer (perk), and Demon Slayer (perk) are strong increases, but useful against specific monsters/bosses only.
44. * Genocidal is useful on slayer tasks only, and isn't as strong as higher ranked Precise or Equilibrium (but can be used with them).
45. * Trophy-taker's is a net increase in slayer task length, so good to extend how long the effects of the slayer helm are active for the monster. Easy to combo a middle rank with Genocidal.
46. * Shield Bashing is a fairly good increase to Debilitate's damage, but not as good as the weapon perks.
47.
48. ===Tools===
49. ;Generally always useful
50. * Honed is the best skilling perk, as the only one that increases the raw success rate.
51.
52. ;Situational
53. * Furnace (perk) is the highest increase in experience per hour, but it does consume the item produced when it activates. Use if you only care for the experience.
54. * Polishing can slightly improve gold per hour for some training methods, but this use is niche. It also improves chimes per hour if used in the Arc.
55. * Refined is only really useful when mining single-ore rocks, but it noticeably improves them. Fishing and woodcutting don't really benefit from it.
56. * Charitable helps out others in group training, but minimal benefit to yourself unless others also use it. Ideally used with other players at places like harmonised runite rocks.
57. * Butterfingers is usually undesirable, but it can improve training methods where the product is dropped anyway (e.g. mining granite).
58.
59. ===All gizmos===
60. ;Generally always useful
61. * Wise affects every skill, so is ideally used while skilling. Wise 2/Mobile is not uncommon to make and use on an off-hand weapon/shield.
62.
63. ;Situational
64. * Enlightened is useful for Invention training, but only applies on the item it is on.
65. * Efficient can help reduce Invention training costs, if a perk slot can be sacrificed for every item in use.
66. * Enhanced efficient is a 50% better Efficient that can't be comboed with anything.
