[2015-03-18 13:22:07] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Like drawbridges over a river, the docks on the ring above are lifted away by cranes, creating passage for the /Rainbow Connection/ to rise out of Tres, third city of The Silos. Zebra townsfolk line up to watch the pony pirate vessel depart for the first time.
  6. [2015-03-18 13:23:10] * Noble_Heart stood upon the deck of the vessel, dressed in the sparkling armor of the Crystal Empire, with lance and sword at her sides. Today was going to be a day to be remembered by the Zebra Empire.
  7. [2015-03-18 13:23:56] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The bulk of The Silos' pirate fleet has lured the Imperial dragnet away. Captain Noble_Heart has been tasked with hunting down any Imperial ships she can find that didn't fall for the ploy and are searching too close to the "Last Free City".
  8. [2015-03-18 13:28:40] <Mare-Do-Well> 3A musical caw rings through the air and the fiery orange majesty of a phoenix swoops over the /Rainbow Connection's/ deck. She carries a package in her talons, which she drops at Captain Noble_Heart's hooves before soaring away.
  9. [2015-03-18 13:29:35] * Noble_Heart blinks and looks down at the package, levitating it up and carefully unwrapping it. A decidedly unusual way to get a delivery, that was certain.
  10. [2015-03-18 13:31:49] * Golden_Dream comes back with a heaping helping of new supplies.
  11. [2015-03-18 13:35:49] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The package is mostly shredded foam (which proceeds to snow about the deck like packing peanuts). The foam is to keep the more precious items inside safe. Two potion bottles, tied together with a note, written in poor Equestrian. "Imperial ships has Hellfire Cannons. Be preparing. Your friends, the Vespertilio."
  12. [2015-03-18 13:37:15] * CopyCat does her part as a living Figurehead for the Rainbow Connection. She sparkled prettily in her Shatara-forged crystal barding, just like her Captain!
  13. [2015-03-18 13:37:44] * Golden_Dream starts unloading her things. "Alright, so I got me a few things, one of them vests that'll help me when I get shot. I got a new mod fer' th' crossbow, some parts fer' th' glider we got, and a whole load a' iron shavings n' rust fer fuckin' up airships with. I got Get some power armor parts, junkiest I could find, and some o' th' fridge parts she wants."
  14. [2015-03-18 13:39:08] * Noble_Heart frowns and tilts her head to one side. Zebra alchemy was dangerous. And she wasn't entirely positive how these particular solutions were meant to be used.
  15. [2015-03-18 13:41:56] * Golden_Dream points at Shatara. "I got you some bullets, I got th' cannon some o' them batteries." She looks at Noble and Copycat. "Wish I could'a got you somethin'..." Her attention was drawn to the package in Noble's grasp. "Hey, lemme take a look at them bottles."
  16. [2015-03-18 13:42:40] * Shatara fiddles with the airships controls, perking up some at the mention of boolets
  17. [2015-03-18 13:45:41] * CopyCat ear flickers and abandons her figure-head post. She approaches Noble_Heart and the interesting bottles. "Ooooohhh..."
  18. [2015-03-18 13:46:18] * Noble_Heart floats the bottles down towards Golden Dream. "They are Zebra alchemy. Something to do with fires, though We are uncertain precisely what."
  19. [2015-03-18 13:49:34] * Golden_Dream swirls them around. "Theeeese..." She didn't know what these were. "Are kinda outside m' expertise. Did they come with instructions 'r somethin'?"
  20. [2015-03-18 13:52:48] * CopyCat tilts her head. "So I probably shouldn't just try to drink one of them... right?"
  21. [2015-03-18 13:53:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream recognizes the name Vespertilio, although not so much in a "friend" context. Mwana had a brief confrontation with a few teens from that pirate family the first day here. No encounters with them since, though.
  22. [2015-03-18 13:57:26] * Noble_Heart shakes her head. "Just a note that said something about the zebra ships being armed with fire cannons. It is likely that they are some form of fire retardant. But We have no idea how they are used." She frowned at CopyCat. "Drinking unknown potions is rarely a good plan. It could poison you. Or worse."
  23. [2015-03-18 14:19:11] * CopyCat gasps. "You mean it could give me... bad breath?"
  24. [2015-03-18 14:20:10] * Golden_Dream rolls her eyes. "'Specially since this probably came from some folks that I ain't sure of th' character of." She starts walking up to Bookwright. "Hey, can you make heads r' tails a' this?"
  25. [2015-03-18 14:21:06] * Bookwright "It could be a fire suppression grenade. I've read about these things, they fell out of favor because the chemicals in the ones in equestria turned out to be kind of toxic."
  26. [2015-03-18 14:22:19] <Mare-Do-Well> 3A horn blows, giving the /Rainbow Connection/ the signal to lift off.
  27. [2015-03-18 14:23:18] * Golden_Dream slumps. "They could also be potions what protect you from fire."
  28. [2015-03-18 14:23:43] * Bookwright "Well, that is what I just said..."
  29. [2015-03-18 14:23:52] * Golden_Dream dawns on something. Wait. "Hellfire Cannons. They said they were hellfire cannons, right?"
  30. [2015-03-18 14:24:48] * Bookwright "Erm, I didn't actually see any fire extinguishers on this airship. Noble Heart made them bail with her flames illusion, remember? This might be a problem."
  31. [2015-03-18 14:25:30] * Noble_Heart nods her head. "It would seem that our 'friends' have attempted to provide us with a solution. Likely to gain favor."
  32. [2015-03-18 14:25:58] * Bookwright "Whatever they are, it would be best if we never had cause to use them. Both for practical and political reasons."
  33. [2015-03-18 14:26:02] * Golden_Dream shakes her head. Oh, this is bad. "I'm thinkin' that it's not th' heat that's gonna kill most of us. Bookie, what's hellfire sound a whole heapin' heck of a lot like? Here's a hint, Equestria was pretty used t' it fer' a while."
  34. [2015-03-18 14:26:48] * Bookwright "...Balefire? No, surely not. That would be insane...ly... Shit."
  35. [2015-03-18 14:27:20] * Noble_Heart frowns at that. "It is not impossible. The zebras were allies with the dragons. They might have had other weapons that utilized dragon fire. And we have seen the mountain where they burned their dead with dragonfire."

  38. [2015-03-18 14:34:56] * Golden_Dream shrinks a little. "I think these might be Zebra rad-aways. Or at least, Zebra rad-X's." She gets ready. "Hey, Copycat. Can I borrow somethin' a yours? I kinda need it t' set them up th' bomb."
  39. [2015-03-18 14:36:18] * CopyCat nods at Golden_Dream. "Sure, Goldie. What would you like to borrow? Is it my winning smile?"
  40. [2015-03-18 14:37:06] * Golden_Dream gives her a small smile. "Naw. I jus' need t' borrow that thing what lets y' go invisible."
  41. [2015-03-18 14:40:44] * Bookwright isn't so sure. "Wish Mwana was here, could ask him..."
  42. [2015-03-18 14:46:47] * CopyCat claps her hooves together. "Ohhh, the invisible thing! I'll find it for you, Golden_Dream." CopyCat rummages in her saddlebags and soon pulls out the fine tailored cloak with its beautifully wrought gemstone clasp. She passes the Stealth Cloak to Golden_Dream.
  43. [2015-03-18 14:48:55] * Get_Lost is still drawing schematics, but takes a moment to get out of the room and give a blueprint of the freezienator to bookie or shatara, or both. along with the assembly part "here you go, put this together"
  44. [2015-03-18 14:50:13] * Golden_Dream starts to get it ready to put on. "Alright, I got a plan, but it's not a very good one. Noble, you n' me are gonna go teleportin'. You stay put while I go sneakin' around like a durned weasel and put these here flowerpots over their fuel tanks, and then we'll move on to th' next one. I'll take this flare gun n' if I fire it, odds are things have gotten bad on the ship and I need some immediate help."
  45. [2015-03-18 14:50:37] * Shatara recieves plans, is somewhat relieved it's not for a blow-up-the-world button.
  46. [2015-03-18 14:52:17] * Get_Lost "if you can put your hooves on some sort of super compact plasma reactoe i can also try to rig a half baked proton torpedo..."
  47. [2015-03-18 14:52:21] * Noble_Heart blinks and frowns. "Teleporting into a place We cannot see is very, very dangerous. Teleportation spells have some basic safety features, but it does not prevent being trapped, or seriously injured, by appearing in an inopportune location." She shakes her head. "It would be very dangerous to attempt to transport a living creature into a room with unknown geometry and

  49. [2015-03-18 14:52:25] * Golden_Dream looks at Bookwright, Get, and Shatara. "Y'all have t' keep th' ship up n' goin'. Sadly, yer' prolly gonna be distractin' folks while me n' Noble are handlin' business. In case shit goes real wrong, Copycat'll prolly know n' tell you."
  50. [2015-03-18 14:52:34] * Bookwright takes the pile of components because he doesn't know what to do with them and Get_Lost is just standing there shoving them at him. "So, uh, I'm not super good at building stuff, but I can do more than just turn bolts and light incense. Wanna build this freezy-cannon thing, Shatara? Get Lost put a lot of effort into it."
  51. [2015-03-18 14:53:24] * Shatara nods a little. "Sure I guess. Be more useful than a pile of scrap, at least."
  52. [2015-03-18 15:08:52] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The /Rainbow Connection/ lifts itself out of the missile silo, floating up past the military cranes for the base-wide camouflage netting. After so many days in The Silos, the sun seems abnormally bright and the air blissfully sweet. The wind carries with it the scents of the ocean miles away.
  53. [2015-03-18 15:10:14] * Noble_Heart takes a deep slow breath and sighs quietly. "Today shall be a day to remember. One way or another."
  54. [2015-03-18 15:14:02] * Bookwright "Hopefully today will end without bloodshed."
  55. [2015-03-18 15:14:14] * CopyCat sticks her head over the side of the ship, letting the wind rush through her mane. She might also be sticking her tongue out like a doggie.
  56. [2015-03-18 15:15:11] * Noble_Heart blinks at that. "We should hope not. If the day ends without bloodshed it is likely because We have failed to find Our enemies. And that would put all of the Silos in danger."
  57. [2015-03-18 15:15:13] * Bookwright "Personally I think you'd look more captain-y in a ruffled shirt, but that might just be me."
  58. [2015-03-18 15:16:56] * Get_Lost joins the others on the bridge "ah... do you need something from me or something?"
  59. [2015-03-18 15:31:35] * Golden_Dream comes back up, looking moderately disturbed. She appears to be wearing her new outfit, a leather number with many pouches, pockets, built for rough situations, and /slightly/ uncomfortably tight in the rear.
  60. [2015-03-18 15:32:22] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The /Rainbow Connection/ is the last airship to leave the docks before the doors close once again, and the cranes reposition the nets, concealing the entrances to the city.
  61. [2015-03-18 15:34:04] * Golden_Dream looks as if her cheeks are about to explode on her face. Seriously, Shatara? Did you have to take measurements to get this thing as tight as I can move in or- WAIT DID HE SERIOUSLY MEMORIZE THE CURVATURE OF YOUR FLANK?
  62. [2015-03-18 15:35:31] * Bookwright is saying nothing because to open the mouth would be to release foalish laughter unbecoming of a gentlepony. Also, it might make Golden_Dream hate him.
  63. [2015-03-18 15:36:28] * CopyCat smiles. "Looking good, Golden_Dream!"
  64. [2015-03-18 15:37:51] * Get_Lost smiles "nice armor, kid. i know at least one zebra that will appreciate it"
  65. [2015-03-18 15:39:35] * Mare-Do-Well 3floats up to Golden_Dream, stares. "Wow."
  66. [2015-03-18 15:39:42] * Shatara blushes a little and wonders if maaaybe he should have made more allowances in the hindquarters...
  67. [2015-03-18 15:39:45] * Noble_Heart looks up in the direction of Golden Dream and chuckles slightly. "It seems that someone has put extra effort into looking nice." She turned to face the horizon. "But now is not really the best time for jokes. There are zebras to be found."
  68. [2015-03-18 15:40:42] * Mare-Do-Well 3floats around Golden_Dream, catches the flank design and fails to hide her snicker.
  69. [2015-03-18 15:41:27] * Mare-Do-Well 3turns to Noble_Heart and nods, giving a salute. "Aye aye, Captain." In a ghostly flash, she is gone. Scouting ahead.
  70. [2015-03-18 15:42:00] * Golden_Dream decides now would be the best time to check how potent the armor is on her side. By falling over on it. Oh, and then the ghost comes along. She snaps at her, her entire face a bright pink. "OH, YOU CAN SHUT UP! I'VE SEEN PICTURES OF YOU IN THAT THERE SHADOWBOLT OUTFIT!"
  71. [2015-03-18 15:44:27] * Get_Lost "parlay, be a dear and check the radio signals from the area... if these ships have an inbuilt beqacon, we could simply find it following her radio signal"
  72. [2015-03-18 15:48:57] * Get_Lost looks around whistlyng a catchy tune while the airship leaves the silo

  74. [2015-03-18 15:50:05] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Parlay bleeps, then bloops... then feeds Get_Lost the results. Two beacons within range. One west and one south.
  75. [2015-03-18 15:51:06] * Get_Lost "captain, i've got to radio signals: west and south... what do we do?"
  76. [2015-03-18 15:54:28] * Bookwright watches the skies! For things!
  77. [2015-03-18 15:55:43] * Noble_Heart frowns at that, contemplating briefly. "We shall head South first, We believe."
  78. [2015-03-18 15:58:14] * Golden_Dream nods. "Um. Alright! Let's, uh. South. Yeah." Stretchy stretchy. "... Shatara, I'm glad we're friends." She said in a deadpan tone, heading back below decks to prepare the thermite.
  79. [2015-03-18 15:58:53] * Shatara questions the wisdom of angering a filly with thermite.
  80. [2015-03-18 15:58:59] * Mare-Do-Well 3reappears, 'skidding' to a stop. "Spotted one, Captian." She seems to be getting into the role. "Zebra gunship."
  81. [2015-03-18 16:00:36] * Noble_Heart grins and nods her head. "Which way, Officer Dash?" It just seemed weird to call her Mare-do-Well as a military name.
  82. [2015-03-18 16:02:55] * Mare-Do-Well 3informs Noble_Heart, "South, roughly four miles." She adds, "It's everything this ship is not: heavily armed, terribly slow. Basically a floating rock with guns. A lot of guns."
  83. [2015-03-18 16:04:09] * Noble_Heart contemplates that and nods. "It must have separated from the main forces. We'll need to be careful and use our mobility to its most if we want to succeed. But success should be possible!"
  84. [2015-03-18 16:04:34] * Mare-Do-Well 3thinks a moment. "Not the sort of ship you send forward on a search. It's the kind you have waiting as reinforcements."
  85. [2015-03-18 16:04:37] * Get_Lost "can you ask her to check the west blip to, please?"
  86. [2015-03-18 16:04:56] <Get_Lost> *too
  87. [2015-03-18 16:06:27] * Noble_Heart nods her head and looks to Mare-Do-Well, "Get Lost picked up another signal to the west. We shall be heading south, to cut off reinforcements, but knowing what the other ship is would be most useful."
  88. [2015-03-18 16:07:23] * CopyCat eep's at the description of the big ship. "Th-that one sounds dangerous!"
  89. [2015-03-18 16:12:36] * Mare-Do-Well 3nods to CopyCat. "Reconnoitered the armament. Long range guns, mid-range cannons, and a hellfire spewer. It's also been fitted with a light laser cobbled to the railing... looks to be of Equestrian design."
  90. [2015-03-18 16:13:56] * Bookwright "Well, crap, that covers all the distances we don't want to get a fight into in. Which means we need to do this hella fast or hella sneaky."
  91. [2015-03-18 16:18:32] * Bookwright "Hey Noble Heart? Can I see those 'gifts' those zebra gangsters gave us? I wanna take a good look at them, maybe see if I can figure out what we're supposed to do with them."
  92. [2015-03-18 16:19:42] * Noble_Heart nods her head. "We believe Golden Dream still has them." She glanced in the direction of the doors downstairs. "You would have to ask her for them." she contemplated. "We wonder how common flight talismans are amongst the zebras of Roam. While doubtless our ship would be quite obvious, they might not be on the lookout for something as small as a pony."
  93. [2015-03-18 16:19:56] * CopyCat adds, "Orr we look at the other ship first. From what Mare-Do-Well said the big ship is just going to sit where it is."
  94. [2015-03-18 16:20:01] * Mare-Do-Well 3nods. "Long range guns are essentially slightly more grown-up versions of the Equestrian anti-machine rifle. The cannons... those will wreck a ship. They're anti-vehicle and anti-installation guns. Useless against nimble fliers though."
  95. [2015-03-18 16:23:37] * Bookwright "I think we should probably aim for something smaller for our first ship-to-ship combat then."
  96. [2015-03-18 16:25:06] * Noble_Heart nods her head. "Would you please check out the signal to the west? It may be better to fight that one first. Though it sounds like We might be the best hope to defeat the larger ship, with Our crew that is capable of flight independent of Our ship."
  97. [2015-03-18 16:25:36] * Get_Lost mumbles "say.... are the cannons simple high explosive high caliber guns? with retro-loading siingle shot capacity?"
  98. [2015-03-18 16:26:05] * Mare-Do-Well 3says, "The hellfire spewer is an anti-pegasus weapon. I've seen too many pegasi die horribly to those. Really, it will just fuck anything that gets in its target zone though. Only saving grace is that it has shit for range. Well, that and the ammo is crazy dangerous. And hopefully limited."
  99. [2015-03-18 16:26:27] * Bookwright finds Golden_Dream. "Show me those potion bottles that were air-delivered. I wanna take a closer look at them."
  100. [2015-03-18 16:27:04] * Mare-Do-Well 3pauses. Then admits, "I don't get the laser. It's not even a good laser. It's like something Bookworm here would have trained with."
  101. [2015-03-18 16:27:58] * Golden_Dream gives them to Bookwright. "I got an idea. Mare Do Well, do they have guns on th' bottom of their airship?"
  102. [2015-03-18 16:28:13] * Shatara hmms. "That highly dangerous ammo wouldn't happen to be exposed, would it?"
  103. [2015-03-18 16:28:52] * Bookwright carefully inspects one of the potion bottles.
  104. [2015-03-18 16:28:55] * Noble_Heart frowns and contemplates that. "Considering the sorry state of weapons on this vessel. It seems likely that those of Roam are desperate. Trying to salvage any weapon they could acquire..." she furrows her brows. "Otherwise, We have no idea."
  105. [2015-03-18 16:30:15] * Mare-Do-Well 3nods to Golden_Dream. "Most of the guns are on the sides or below. Only the long-range ones are mounted on the top." She adds, "Can't mount a hellfire spewer on the top of an airship. That's suicidal."
  106. [2015-03-18 16:37:38] * Mare-Do-Well 3salutes Noble_Heart again and takes off, this time headed west.
  107. [2015-03-18 16:40:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The wind blows lazily across the deck.
  108. [2015-03-18 16:41:58] * Bookwright remains just as in the dark as before.
  109. [2015-03-18 16:42:01] * Golden_Dream smiles. "I got a plan. A better one, this time."
  110. [2015-03-18 16:43:14] * Mare-Do-Well 3returns, looking confused. "If there's a ship to the west, I can't find it."
  111. [2015-03-18 16:44:51] * Golden_Dream lowers her head. "Alright, so, this one's obviously somethin' of a gunship, right? It's meant t' move huge groups 'a zebras while torchin' th' pegusi that get close, maybe throw some artillery towards some of the ground pounders?"
  112. [2015-03-18 16:45:23] * Mare-Do-Well 3frowns. "Doesn't mean there isn't one. Could be Umbra-class."
  113. [2015-03-18 16:45:51] * CopyCat gasps. "An airship that's invisibles!"
  114. [2015-03-18 16:46:36] * Noble_Heart frowns and nods her head. "Then we head south. Chasing an invisible signal does not seem like a productive idea right now." She contemplates. "Our ship is faster than theirs, and most of their armament is on the lower lines. Our best method of engagement will likely be to come from above and attack their balloons. Attempt to force them out of the sky quickly."
  115. [2015-03-18 16:46:44] * Golden_Dream explains, "Well, you remember th' best place t' attack one of them gunships from?"
  116. [2015-03-18 16:47:25] * Get_Lost "parlay, be a dearie, travel to the western beacon signal origin, but keep at the level of the tree canopy. when you are in sight range, use the night vision, thermal vision and the magic detection field sensor and send me the images, then come back using a non linear path"
  117. [2015-03-18 16:47:34] * Mare-Do-Well 3nods. Then shakes her head. "Well, not exactly. It's just really hard to notice. Some sort of spirit's bound into it that makes your eyes slide off of it."
  118. [2015-03-18 16:48:01] * Get_Lost shrugs "well, i have no eyes, let's see if that helps"
  119. [2015-03-18 16:48:32] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Parlay zooms off.
  120. [2015-03-18 16:48:37] * Bookwright "Get Lost does have special eyes..."
  121. [2015-03-18 16:48:59] * Golden_Dream nods up. "I think we should attack that thing from right above it."
  122. [2015-03-18 16:49:55] * Mare-Do-Well 3then nods to Noble_Heart. "Attack from above is always the best bet if a ship has a hellfire spewer. Preferably at a distance and with cloud cover."
  123. [2015-03-18 16:51:41] * Mare-Do-Well 3scowls. "I lost good ponies to a couple Umbra-class ships with hellfire spewers. Managed to climb above the battle unnoticed. Turned the sky to hell."
  124. [2015-03-18 16:53:00] * Get_Lost 2we will see if it is possible to detect that thing with our means. in that cade, we will boar them first and use the ship to attack the larger one, does that soun like a plan?"
  125. [2015-03-18 16:53:31] * Mare-Do-Well 3gives the air a ghostly stomp. "That crap didn't last once we got the new armor though. Spirits can fool the eye, but they don't fool S.A.T.S."
  126. [2015-03-18 16:54:26] * Mare-Do-Well 3corrects herself, "Or E.F.S. either."
  127. [2015-03-18 16:54:58] * Get_Lost "or heat seeking proton torpedoes...."
  128. [2015-03-18 16:55:57] * Bookwright wanders around the ship, showing the potion flasks to everypony (and griffin). "Do any of y'all know what the heck this stuff is? It would be good to know how to use it before we get in a fight with the hellfire-spewing airship."
  129. [2015-03-18 16:57:02] <Golden_Dream> ACTION nods. "Yeah, we'll park th' airship right behind their main guns above them usin' our superior speed, then we'll have Copycat and Bookie flyin' around on th' wagon. Shatara and Get'll stay on board, Shatara makin' sure that no zebra comes on deck, while pullin' potshots of his own. Meanwhile, me n' Noble 'll start makin' a beeline towards their fuel intake. We'll set up th' thermite, teleport out, then get th' hell on our next
  130. [2015-03-18 16:57:32] <Mare-Do-Well> 3It takes Parlay a while to find the western ship, and equally as long to return. Fortunately, the group has time. The southern gunship is getting closer at a snail's pace, and isn't going to be visible for a while yet.
  131. [2015-03-18 16:58:24] * Golden_Dream "How about it, Bookie. Feel like lightin' up th' top deck with some of that new food you got fer' th' pew pew cannon?"
