  1. MY LITTLE JOJO: STANDS ARE MAGIC
  2. CHAPTER 19: HOW MANY BRIGADIERS DO YOU WISH? PART 2
  3. OPEN THE GAME!
  4.
  5. >The explosion certainly woke you up
  6. >At least as much as can be expected, given the blood loss
  7. >The vampony flies over you into his back
  8. >CP -"What was that?!"
  9. >CS -"Like I said. It's 「FAR TOO LOUD」."
  10. >CP -"B-But the explosion-!"
  11. >CS -"Yeah. It can do that."
  12. >And that got all over Cobalt's face
  13. >Glad you didn't get caught in the blast
  14. >? -"That's quite the Stand that mare's got."
  15. >Oh yeah, the talking book
  16. >? -"Hey Sunburst, see if you can get some of that powder."
  17. "I'm sorry?"
  18. >? -"Not a lot. Just enough so I can replicate it."
  19. "Replicate?"
  20. >"I heard the explosion come from here!"
  21. >A gruff voice bellows from outside the alley
  22. >"Finally. The guards."
  23. >Two guards come from around the corner, spears in mouth
  24. >G -"What's going on here?!"
  25. >C -"That mare just attacked me!"
  26. >CS -"Only cause you're being all shifty!"
  27. >Cobalt approaches the group near the entrance with a scythe in his mouth
  28.
  29. >Shit!
  30. >You grab Coco and fling both you and her back, dodging the scythe blade by inches
  31. >He continues to attack with blind fury
  32. >How does he move so fast?!
  33. >Coco, meanwhile, is confused
  34. >CP -"Why's he moving like that?"
  35. "What do you mean? He swipin' 'is scythe at us!"
  36. >CP -"Scythe? He's not holding a scythe."
  37. >How can she not see a scythe right in her bloomin' face?!
  38. >With nowhere to run but back, you run back towards the alleyway entrance
  39. >Oh good! Guards! They'll help!
  40. >An odd noise from behind prompts you to turn your heAD BUCK IT'S FLYING STRAIGHT TOWARDS YOU!
  41. >You duck and force Coco to the side
  42. >Looking up, the guards are just staring at you
  43. >What the hell?
  44. "Duck!"
  45. >The guards turn their heads like a pair of confused dogs
  46. "DUCK NOW, YA GITS!"
  47. >You run towards the guards hoping the scythe doesn't catch up
  48. >With a slam, both of them fall as you knock them down
  49. >Seconds later the scythe passes over you with a *SWOOP*
  50. >Checking if your mane is still there, you raise your head
  51. >You sigh
  52. >Now he can't cut you up!
  53. >HA!
  54. >S -"Behind you..."
  55. >The orange unicorn stands, wobbling from fatigue
  56. >S -"The scythe..."
  57. >This gets your attention, and you turn around
  58. >Sure enough, the scythe is floating in the air, spinning
  59. >And it's coMING BACK TOWARDS YOU
  60. >With a shove, the two guards are back on the ground again
  61. >Yet again the scythe *SWOOPS* above, and you swear part of your mane just got cut off
  62. >Looking up, you see the dark blue pony grab his scythe out of the air
  63. >C -"Now if you could just give me and my... friend here a few minutes, that would be great."
  64. "How about you come out here with him, and we can ALL hang out?"
  65. >C -"How about you not stick your soot-covered nose where it doesn't belong?"
  66. "HOW ABOUT YOU SAY THAT TO MY FACE?!"
  67. >C -"How about no?"
  68. "What, are you afraid of the sun?"
  69. >C -"No. I just don't have time to deal with the likes of you. Now go away."
  70. "Not without the unicorn."
  71. >C -"...No!"
  72. "Yes!"
  73. >C -"NO! Now go away!"
  74. "Not without the unicorn!"
  75. >C -"No, you unwashed whorse! Now leave!"
  76. >Oh this bint is dead
  77. "How about this?"
  78. >You walk up to him, his scythe still in mouth
  79. >Taking a second to clear your throat, you hock the biggest loogie you've everything hocked
  80. >It lands right on his mug
  81. >Oof, he is MAD!
  82. >You jump back as he swipes for your throat
  83. >C -"GET BACK HERE YOU SNOT NOSED CUNT!"
  84. "This coming from the colt with actual snot on his face."
  85. >C -"HRRRRGH!"
  86. >He keeps throwing out attacks, but you keep dodging
  87. >With each attack, you keep backing up, making faces and taunting him
  88. >Not too long now
  89. >Just a little more...
  90. >SCHWING!
  91. >...FFFFFFFFFF-
  92. >CAN'T. SHOW. WEAKNESS.
  93. >EVEN. THOUGH. YOU'RE PRETTY SURE. HE JUST SLICED THROUGH YOUR HOOF!
  94. >JUST. A LITTLE. FURTHER.
  95. >THEN. THE GUARDS. CAN TAKE THIS GUY DOWN.
  96. >HE'S. OUTSIDE THE ALLEY!
  97. >NO-
  98. >C -"AAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGGHH!"
  99. >YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO START SCREAMING, BUT OKAY!
  100.
  101. >You pop your head up, wondering if you're safe
  102. >A peek in front of you shows the blue pony going for Chimney Sweep (presumably with that invisible scythe, what with how he's waving his head), missing each time
  103. >As they pass by, you try to move out of the way, simply observing the charade going on
  104. >Watching Chimney Sweep both taunt him and dodge his attacks is certainly interesting
  105. >But then you notice something wrong with Chimney
  106. >Her hoof...
  107. >It's bleeding!
  108. >She's actually being hurt!
  109. >You don't know how, but he's actually trying to hurt her!
  110. >You have to do something Coco!
  111. >...
  112. >Don't just stand there! Do something!
  113. >Hesitating, you approach the blue pony, who's stopped right in front of the alley, just before where the shadow of the roof ends
  114. >You build up all of your inner strength and run towards him, ready to strike!
  115. >As soon as you close the distance between you and him you twist around and buck with all your might!
  116. >Now he's tumbled into the street!
  117. >That'll teach him to-
  118. >"AAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUGGHH!"
  119. >...
  120. >He's crumbling
  121. >Quite literally
  122. >That pony you kicked into the street is now crumbling into nothing
  123. >You don't really know how to feel about this
  124. >Though traumatized certainly comes to mind
  125. >After a minute of staring at the spot where the blue pony was formerly standing, you snap out of it and run over to Chimney Sweep, now holding her dangling (hold back your vomit, Coco) hoof
  126. "A-are you okay?"
  127. >CS -"I-I'M OKAY LUV!" she says with a false smile and tears in her eyes, the spitting image of absolutely not okay
  128. "Do you want some help or-"
  129. >CS -"JUST GO AN' GET THE UNICORN LASS!"
  130. >The nearby guards finally walk up to help her, seemingly dumbfounded by what just took place and prompted by her pained screams
  131.
  132. "So... you're telling me... the blue pony turned to ash in the sunlight."
  133. >"Yes sir."
  134. "After being led out by one of the witnesses, a Ms. Chimney Sweep, while he was swiping at her... with an invisible scythe, that only that witness could see."
  135. >"Well to be specific, it was after the other witness, a Ms. Coco Pommel, kicked him out into the street."
  136. >Well, that scythe might have been a Stand, but...
  137. >Bursting into smoke when he steps into sunlight?
  138. >That seems odd
  139. >You're going to have to ask Sunburst when he gets back from the hospital, as well as those mares
  140. >To be perfectly honest, this is all just silly
  141. >With any luck, this can all get sorted out easily
  142. >"At ease, guardsman. I'm going to need you to stay for a bit to fill out some more reports."
  143. >"Yes sir."
  144. >He leaves, and you scratch your head
  145. >A few hours of writing up reports later, and a knock rumbles your office door
  146. >"Uh, Shining?"
  147. >Oh good, it's Sunburst
  148. "Come on in."
  149. >He opens the door and walks in holding a book
  150. >"I was hoping to talk to you about something."
  151. "Same here. You wouldn't happen to know why that pony you encountered seemed to just... turn into dust, if what my men are saying is correct?"
  152. >"Yes, actually. To be specific he referred to himself as... a vampire."
  153. "A vampire."
  154. >"Yes."
  155. "A creature not seen around the world in centuries. In the Crystal Empire."
  156. >"Admittedly, it seems far-fetched, but he DID suck my blood."
  157. "You could have just said that."
  158. >"...Good point."
  159. >This day has just been unusual
  160. >"Anyways, that thing I wanted to ask you-"
  161. "Ah- yeah, what's up?"
  162. >He places the book on the table
  163. >"I overheard the conversation you had with Princess Cadance this morning. You wouldn't happen to know what a Stand is, would you?"
  164. "Yeah. Why?"
  165. >? -"Do you mind if I cut in?"
  166. "Where did that voice come from?"
  167. >? -"Down here."
  168. >You look down at the the table
  169. "Did your book just talk?"
  170. >? -"I can hear you, you know."
  171. >You turn your attention to the book on the table
  172. "Sorry, I'm not used to talking to... books."
  173. >S -"So... What are you?"
  174. >? -"How have you not figured that out yet?"
  175. >S -"What do you mean?"
  176. >? -"I'm your Stand!"
