- How Twitch Plays Dragon Warrior Works
- -------------------------------------
- Dragon Warrior is a very simple game. A to confirm, B to cancel, easy enough for anyone to understand. Here's how what little complexity there is works.
- -Menuing-
- Menuing commands cannot be used for walking! They don't hold the direction long enough.
- * You can use just the direction. For example, post "Down" or "Right." (Abbreviations are fine also, such as "L" or "R.")
- * You can also prepend the keyword "Menu" to your direction. For example, post "MenuLeft" or "MenuD."
- -Walking on the Map-
- * The keyword is "Walk," and it must be used at the beginning of all walking commands.
- * Walking commands can be dictated for up to 5 tiles at a time.
- * Walking commands will take basic and cardinal directions, as well as their abbreviations (for example, "WalkDown1," "WalkD1," and "WalkS1" will all cause the hero to walk south one tile).
- -Menuing by What You Want-
- * If you wish to open the main menu, you can use "Menu[DesiredAction]" to pick that action; for example, "MenuTake" or "MenuStairs."
- * In battle, the prepend is "Battle," so you would for instance use "BattleFight" or "BattleRun."
- * To cast a particular spell, the keyphrase is "BattleCast[SpellName]" (in battle), or "MenuCast[SpellName]" (out of battle).
- [Once we start randomizer, this will work differently and will use, for example, "BattleCastSpell3" because in rando, you cannot know what order you'll learn spells in.]
