- Several individuals soon enter the throneroom. Most notably, the former Earl of Antegria, Ed Jinseer is present, due to the trial being his own. Alongside him, Amy Wainwright and Katya Eldor are also present, the former known as a teacher for the Phoenix Academy, while the latter is simply there with rainbow colored hair.
- Leaving Ed before Niklaus, Katya simply went off to the far end of the room, opting to observe the trial for now. She'd find herself a spot near Karlia Mimir in no time, seating herself on the chair behind Tilandre's current monarch.
- (Katya Eldor)
- Katya Eldor whispers something.
- Katya Eldor whispers something.
- Katya Eldor: <*Waves at Lokus*>
- Jeremi Lestre: <*Watches. somewhat wishing he could write. This would be good for big sister!*>
- Katya Eldor: <*Waves towards the rest of the people she knew within the room discreetely*>
- Folka: <*returns wave back discreetely*>
- Karlia Mimir whispers something.
- Hecate H. Rosengard: <*Tips hat, mouthing "M'Lady"*>
- On their way to Rein's wedding, Ouriel and Elenora made a special exception to attend the trial of Ed Jinseer. It was a logical move given Tilandre's betrayal in the war, costing potentially thousands of men-- a move that was made without warning or clearance.
- Curious on how the trial would proceed, Ouriel stood in wait, arms crossed and a calm, composed gaze given to those in attendance.
- (Ouriel Melym)
- Lokus Ornstein: <*waves to Katya*>
- Ulfric stood stoically at the side of the royal chambers, the procession deathly silent. His normally aloof expression was set into a thin line, given the seriousness of the charges levied against a Mr. Ed Jinseer.
- While he was the lowliest rank in the Saffron, the hunter still deemed this occasion more than important enough. As such he'd taken his Saffron uniform, polished it to a sheen, and set off for the trial.
- As for the accusations of treason, Ulfric was on the fence. On the one hand he knew that there were many men and women within the Saffron who would have wanted to fight to secure Byson's freedom alongside the rest of the coalition. On the other, Ed's decision to protect the triage at Alteros--assuming it were true--was somewhat sound.
- With his hands clasped behind his back, the soldier waited for the proceedings to get underway.
- (Ulfric Nevin)
- Katya Eldor: <*Moves over towards Lokus. Because Lokus*>
- Niklaus sat in a throne made of stone and earth, a blue gem at the crest above his head, mimicking the color and glow of the blue gem settled into the crown of Tilandre. The lad looked down at his uncle, nodding to a nearby steward who started loudly tapping the bottom of a staff on the ground, shouting. "All in attendence remain silent! The Trial of Edward Akinseer begins!" Niklaus laced his fingers together, resting his chin on them as he leaned forward, emerald eyes staring mercilessly towards his former teacher.
- "The crown recognizes Ed Akinseer of Antegria. You stand accused of treason and conspiracy. The Crown submits that you had ordered servants to keep Us from rising and stay asleep whilst going out to lead the Saffron Avis. A right which, if you recall, was granted to Leonardo Ornstein as he was granted, by Royal Decree, command of all Saffron Avis forces should the Crown be unable to lead."
- "You unlawfully took control of the Saffron Avis during the battle for Byson and made them hold back while the true commander fought and was injured, along with our allies in Central Valmasia decimated. How do you plea Ser Akinseer?"
- (Niklaus Eldor)
- Amy Wainwright: !
- Amy Wainwright: <*sneaks over, more on Elenora's side*>
- Lokus Ornstein: ...
- The former Earl stands, Taking a breath, before addressing Niklaus. "I suppose I cannot deny that is an accurate depiction of events as they progressed, Though, for the sake of accuracy and not condemning another, I must point out that I did not instruct the servant Willikins. to keep your Highness from rising so much as lock him in the pantry."
- With a shrug, he continues, "There were contextual events which caused the actions to make sense at the time, though I suppose I did let my paranoia about our... western allies get the better of me."
- (Ed Akinseer)
- Niklaus Eldor: So you plead Guilty to the charges?
- Lokus Ornstein: I didn't hear him say that.
- Lokus Ornstein: <*Shrugs*>
- Niklaus Eldor: Will the audience remain -silent- during the proceedings?
- Niklaus Eldor: <*Glares at Lokus*>
- Lokus Ornstein: <*Faux smile and wave*>
- Ed Akinseer: Well, I do agree that's what happened. I don't believe you actually specified a charge.
- Niklaus Eldor: ...Treason and Conspiracy. <*Resists urge to facepalm*>
- Ed Akinseer: Well.
- Niklaus Eldor: <*Waits*>
- Ed Akinseer: Conspiracy certainly.
- Ed Akinseer: Treason... Ehh. I thought I was helping.
- Standing at Hectate's side after arriving from Nostvale, Angelica's expression seemed rather grim. Though she did not know Ed very well, it seemed this trial was rather important, especially since he had been tried for what felt like the right thing. Judgment calls on the battlefield were always suppose to be made, because there was nearly no time at all where everything would go according to plan.
- Her eyes darted from body to body and she rested her hands within the pockets of her cloak and lowered her eyes away from the man that stood front and center. Seeing the boy King in his glory, rellishing is his power, Angelica wondered if he was truly fit at this age to rule this whole city. Niklaus Eldor, how old was he? Fifteen, at the most? He certainly did not look older.
- Pressing her lips together, it seemed the Legionnaire's Knight felt rather uneasy, but for what reason? It wasn't like she was experiencing bad vibes, or anything. Or maybe she felt sorry for Ed. That this trial was being run by someone who probably hadn't finished puberty yet.
- (Angelica Mariangel)
- Ouriel Melym: <*He shakes his head, his icy gaze unmoving from Ed- as if pondering how many thousands died because of this man's actions.*>
- Ed Akinseer: <*Seems oddly tense. Almost like he was facing death or something.*>
- Dominic Falco: <*Can't help but shake a feeling of regret, that he couldn't speak with the man before his inevitable execution.*>
- Folka: <*wonders why he's here since he doesn't like politics*?
- Folka: >*
- Elenora Melym: <*grasps onto Ouriel's hand*>
- Amy Wainwright whispers something.Runeis Cygnus: <*dosent like being around huge crowds of strangers*>
- Elenora Melym whispers something.
- Amy Wainwright whispers something.
- Jeremi Lestre: <*furrows his brow as he plans on comitting everyone in here..*>
- Standing up, Niklaus started to walk down from his throne, slowly taking off one of his gloves. "My orders were for us to fight to against the mimic threat, not just to free Byson, but for every one of our citizens that died holding our outpost, defending our lands, and starved during the siege. To prevent that same suffering from going out onto other lands, to ensure other children would not grow without parents and live never knowing what it would be like to know them."
- "Our orders are not requests. When the Crown decrees and commands something, we expect it done." Niklaus stopped before his uncle, staring him down, the boy having grown to a height of 5'9" over the years and still not done with it. "But your actions did, in the end, save lives, that cannot be ignored. Neither can the betrayal done to allies in the midst of battle and the loss of those who might have been saved had the Saffron Avis fought in truth. For that we sentence you to exile and the Mark of the Black Hand." Planting his hand on Ed's face, it glowed red hot with fire magic, burning, searing a handprint into the elderly man's features.
- "Your noble title and status will be stripped. You will be exiled to Antegria where you will serve as permanent Advisor to the nation and its new steward, Leonardo Ornstein and his descendants. To prove that valor and honor do not go unrewarded, and that scheming treachery is justly punished. Your son Vector will remain in your care, and one day he may restore honor to your family. I expect you to serve Leonardo faithfully in the management of Antegria, as you helped found it, and he will be encouraged to take your advice seriously."
- Releasing Edward's face, Niklaus moved back to his throne and sat down, resuming his previous position. "I want him out of my sight and on a boat back to Antegria before duskfall." Looking to his steward, the man nodded and started slamming the bottom of his staff on the floor again, calling out. "Court is adjourned! The Crown's verdict has been given!"
- (Niklaus Eldor)
- Ouriel Melym: ...Exile to a mass murderer. Let's go, Nora.
- Elenora Melym: <*nods*>
- Lokus Ornstein: Hold your tongue, Melym. He is no mass murderer, but a coward who fought the weaker enemies!
- Dominic Falco: <*Nods, seemingly satisfied*>
- Lokus Ornstein: Speak ill when he is not currently on trial, it is the least you can do for a man to be sentenced.
- Jeremi Lestre: ...Mewym?.. Like Ezawiel..
- Runeis Cygnus: These congregations of people always prove interesting
- Ashtelle Banrion: <*quietly exits, as she has a groom to hunt down before he's late to his own wedding*>
- Folka: <*follows after Ash*>
- Hecate H. Rosengard: ... Huh.
- Runeis Cygnus: *scribbling down in notepad*
- Hecate H. Rosengard: <*Ohjeez*>
- Runeis Cygnus: i guess politics ia something else i will put on the bucket list of studying
- Runeis Cygnus: *slowly walks away*
- Ouriel Melym: ...The trial came to an end, if you weren't listening. A man who foolishly changed the battle tacticis, without notifying the other commanders, killing potentially thousands in the process, was sent to live a comfortable life on Antegria.
- Ouriel Melym: <*He makes his way for the exit.*>
- Lokus Ornstein: The sentence is still being carried out.
- Lokus Ornstein: So you can wait till he's all the way there to talk crap about him.
- Ouriel Melym: Confirm this, Niklaus.
- Ouriel Melym: Is the crown's verdict final?
- Lokus Ornstein: Of course it is, why are you asking?
- Angelica Mariangel: <*Stare*>
- Runeis Cygnus: *stops because nobility in the doorway*
- Lokus Ornstein: But the point is being that you talk bad of a man that defended the weak by fighting the weaker enemies! While he is being sentenced out to his punishment!
- Hecate H. Rosengard: <*Pokes Angie*>
- Ouriel Melym: ...You've clearly lost it.
- Hecate H. Rosengard whispers something.
- Angelica Mariangel: Hm?
- Angelica Mariangel whispers something.
- Lokus Ornstein: Lost my patience for people talking crap about other people, yes.
- Ulfric Nevin: <*Briskly leaves the Hall, seeing as the verdict had been delivered.*>
- Jeremi Lestre: H..how many Danawium forces were.. lost?
- Hecate H. Rosengard whispers something.
- Amy Wainwright whispers something.
- Ouriel Melym: Two thousand. The other forces that chose to fight lost a similar number.
- Hecate H. Rosengard: <*Slips out the court*>
- Angelica Mariangel whispers something.
- Katya Eldor whispers something.
- Ouriel Melym: ...All because of this man.
- Amy Wainwright whispers something.
- Runeis Cygnus: *nervously manuvers around to the exit*
- Niklaus Eldor: Our judgment has been given.
- Katya Eldor whispers something.
- Lokus Ornstein: Soldiers, not innocents. Two thousand soldiers that knew what they signed up for.
- Zorrick Phillips: <*grumbles to himself> awsome he calls back an army that could have saved countless lives resulting in the deaths of many, and he only gets exile <*walks out>
- Ouriel Melym: They didn't sign up to see supposed allies betray them.
- Katya Eldor: <*Makes her way to the exit of the throne room*>
- Lokus Ornstein: They didn't sign up to see refugees slaughtered either.
- Ouriel Melym: They signed up under the assumption that over six thousand would march.
- Jeremi Lestre: <*watches*>
- Ouriel Melym: You assume refugees would have been slaughtered. A lot of assumptions. A lot of foolishness.
- Lokus Ornstein: And you assume mimics are people, honorable in terms of not wanting to attack every single living human, drakanite, and Ookami.
- Lokus Ornstein: Nobody is gonna be spared if they get ya.
- Ouriel Melym: Then the plan should have been made clear before the battle. It wasn't.
- Niklaus Eldor: Argue as you please but do it out of my throne room.
- Lokus Ornstein: No need, I'm done arguing.
- Ed Akinseer: ...
- Ed Akinseer: Thank you Lokus.
- Lokus Ornstein: Just hearing that about battle plans being plotted is enough.
- Lokus Ornstein: Don't thank me just yet, Ed.
- Lokus Ornstein: Really, don't.
- Niklaus Eldor: <*Gets up from the throne and calls over a servant to bring him a box, chill as ice, heading over to Zanifel*> Master, this belongs to you.
- Ed Akinseer: Oh no, I know you're probably here to punch me in the face or something.
- Ed Akinseer: I am not stupid.
- Lokus Ornstein: I'm not here for that, but I'm not here to let you get slandered about tactics in defending the innocent.
- Lokus Ornstein: I'm here to watch you receive your sentence and nothing else.
- Zanfiel: -He reaches out to take the box, with his left hand, sliding it into a pocket on the inside of his cloak.-
- Zanfiel: My thanks, though it's not necessarily needed now...
- Ouriel Melym: ...Do you not understand? <*His eye twitches*> This isn't about tactics- his intent was made clear. He wanted to see men die.
- Ouriel Melym: ...If you're that Kraus-damned stupid...
- Lokus Ornstein: If he really wanted to see men die, he'd have fled all together.
- Ouriel Melym: ..And you're one of the best Tilandre has to offer.. ?
- Lokus Ornstein: Use your damn head.
- Lokus Ornstein: Now I've said my peace, go on.
- Ouriel Melym: No! If he wanted to see them survive, he wouldn't have said, randomly, after the Kraus-damned battle began, to move elsewhere!
- Zanfiel: I'l ltry.
- Lokus Ornstein: <*places left arm across chest because cant fold arms*>
- Ouriel Melym: And watch as thousands die, you fucking imbecile!
- Jeremi Lestre: S...swhouldn'ts takes outswide?
- Ouriel Melym: Bah! Look at all of you! You make me sick!
- Niklaus Eldor: <*Leaves for Byson with funguard*>
- Lokus Ornstein: <*Apathetic stare*> You done ventin' about your forces yet?
- Elenora Melym whispers something.
- Ouriel Melym whispers something.
- Elenora Melym whispers something.
- Lokus Ornstein whispers something.
- Ouriel Melym whispers something.
- Ouriel Melym whispers something.
- Ouriel Melym whispers something.
- Lokus Ornstein whispers something.
- Ouriel Melym: <*He turns his back on the man and makes his leave.*>
- Ed Akinseer: ...
- Lokus Ornstein: Aww, Ed.
- Lokus Ornstein: Ouriel wants you dead.
- Ed Akinseer: Actually I was worried he was going to attack us.
- Lokus Ornstein: Oh, he is.
- Karlia Mimir: Is he?
- Ed Akinseer: No I mean at the battle.
- Lokus Ornstein: He's pissy that his men got slaughtered and nobody else's.
- Lokus Ornstein: And now, he wants you and me dead. Old people.
- Dominic Falco: <*Stands in silence, eyes locked onto Ed's.*>
- Lokus Ornstein: Ahhh, youth...
- Ed Akinseer: A few people brought up the possibility.
- Ed Akinseer: In any case...
- Ed Akinseer: Karlia.
- Ed Akinseer: Do you think you could assist me in my exiling?
- Lokus Ornstein: <*turns to amy*>
- Lokus Ornstein: Might I ask why you chose to stand by that Meylm instead of Katya?
- Amy Wainwright: !
- Amy Wainwright: <*makes sure no one heard that, hopefully...*>
- Amy Wainwright whispers something.
