  1. >Lacy Loud fidgeted her hands and flexed her toes on the carpet leading to her dad's home office
  2. >She took a deep breath and nodded to herself before walking up to the open door
  3. >Her father was hunched over a tablet with his face scrunched up in concentration, Lacy hesitated, she didn't want to interrupt him
  4. >She wouldn't have to as Lincoln set down his pen and stretched before getting and heading for the door, stopping when he spotted her
  5. >"Hey speed Lacer, whats up? concern filled his eyes as he took notice of his daughter's nervousness "Is everything alright?" he asked softly
  6. >"Dad...I need...advice"
  7. >Giving her a warm smile, Lincoln grabbed a nearby chair and set it across from his own as he sat down, he patted the seat
  8. >As Lacy sat down he looked her right in the eye "What do you want to talk about?"
  9. >The pale brown haired girl wrung her hands and bit her lip "I think I want to quit the team"
  10. >Lincoln's eyes widened, he wasn't expecting that "Oh..." he leaned forward "Have you told your mother?"
  11. >Lacy hung her head and shook it, her father stroked his chin stubble as he leaned back "I see, and you're not sure HOW to tell her"
  12. >The sporty girl nodded "What do I do? I don't want her to be mad at me" she looked downcast
  13.
  14. >Lincoln felt his chest tighten, it hurt to see her like this, she was normally one of his most upbeat kids, so friendly and full of energy
  15. >"Can you tell me why you want to quit? You're not being bullied are you?" Lincoln seriously doubted she was, Lacy was tough, and her siblings would put a stop to anyone picking on her real quick
  16. >"No! No...I just..." Lacy leaned back and rubbed her head "I just don't think its fun anymore"
  17. >Her father raised an eyebrow and nodded, prompting her to keep going
  18. >"I love sports, I really do. I like playing and running around, but ever since we won the regionals its so serious now. I don't care about winning or losing, I just want to have fun"
  19. >This made sense to the Loud Patriarch, Lacy had inherited her mothers talent and skill, but none of her competitive nature. She had frequent playmates in her siblings since she knew how to hold back, unlike Lynn
  20. >"I don't think your mom will be upset with you sweetheart, she might not understand but she wants whats best for you. If you tell her that you're not happy on the team anymore she'll accept that"
  21. >"You think so?" she asked, looking up with big blue eyes
  22. >"Of course sweetie, I've know your mother my whole life. She's proud of what you've accomplished, but more than anything she wants you to be happy"
  23. >Lacy gave a small smile and hugged the man "Thanks dad"
  24. >"So do you have any plans on what to do instead? Book club? Chess club? Run for student council?
  25. >Lacy flashed the biggest grin since she got there "I want to be a cheerleader!"
  26. >Lincoln's eyes widened, he wasn't expecting that either
