Hayun was born in Croydon, South London but grew up in Jeonju, South Korea as she moved to Korea with her parents when she was 3 years old. She is an only child. She was always a wild and carefree child and had an out-going personality. She was always out with friends, going to parties and getting in trouble at school. She started dancing at the age of 9 years old however, unlike a lot of dancers, she started through youtube tutorials since she didn't have enough money to pay for dance lessons. At the age of 14, she realised that she had a dream of becoming an idol. This was after seeing artists like Miss A, Wonder Girls and SNSD thriving during their times. She knew that to make it as an idol, she needed to be able to do more than just dance and that is when she started working on her rap and singing skills. At the age of 16, she started to post some cover dances and even some of her own choreographies on her YouTube channel. Her channel was a slow take off. At first, she was lucky to get a couple hundred views but by the time she turned 17, she had started getting thousands and by her 18th birthday, it was not a surprise for her to get millions of views. It was due to the immense support she was getting from the subscribers of her channel that she decided that she would audition for a company and that is when she found out about Cryptic Cobalt.

⋯ Personality ╾
Hayun is very practical in the sense that she is skilled in manual tasks and sensible and realistic in her approach to situations or tasks or problems. She is confident and won't hesitate to do what she wants to do even if she gets judged by other people around her. She will always stick by her friends side even in their worst moments, however, she will tell them if they have done something wrong because she is loyal, not timid. She is empathetic and sensible to others feelings. When someone she cares about cries, she will 9/10 times cry with them just because they have set her off or she will be there to comfort them. She always knows the right things to say or do when people are upset, angry or just generally not in the mood. She can have a very dirty mind at times and loves makung a joke out of something someone said that may have sounded weird. She can also be quite touchy with her members for instance she would always try and kiss them and sometimes even grab their butts and she loves the reactions she gets when she does do this. She is inflexible and if she has her mind set on one thing, she will most likely no compromise or change, this makes her quite stubborn at times. She is also very close-minded as it is hard to change her mind about her ability. If someone were to say her voice sounded nice while she was singing, she wouldn't believe them and instead, she would believe that they were just trying to be nice. Hayun is someone who constantly needs attention and help. She is very clingy towards her members and absolutely hates being alone. She sacrifices her own needs in order to help the people she cares about meet their own needs. She is way too selfless and this, in the long run will hinder her from improving and going up in life. She realises that she is way too selfless however she is finding it hard to change.

They met at a concert that they were both going to. It was a Jay Park concert and they were both outside the hall waiting for their friends and that is when they noticed each other. Jaemin came over and started talking to her. He asked her "Are you waiting for your mates as well?" and she nodded her head "Yes, I am because they are a bit late and by a bit I mean 15 minutes." They both laughed and started talking until his friends finally arrived. He didn't want to leave her alone so he said to his friends that he needed the toilet just so he could wait with her. She was grateful and they continued to chat up a storm. They exchanged numbers just as her friends finally arrived and they all entered the concert hall. They ended right next to each other in the venue and during the concert, they would frequently dance together and sing along to a lot of his songs.
