  1. Welcome to the Pokemon Breeding guide by Xicarda
  2.
  3. This guide will cover breeding in the most quick and simple way possible.
  4.
  5. As of reading this guide, you need to have already beaten the game and have unlocked the Battle Tree. If you have not done this, you can not breed properly.
  6.
  7. ** AT ANY POINT IN THIS GUIDE, DO NOT BATTLE WITH ANY BRED POKEMON/LEGENDARY IN YOUR PARTY WITH EXP SHARE ON THAT YOU PLAN ON USING UNLESS YOU ARE EV TRAINING THEM. YOU WILL FUCK UP THEIR EV, WHICH ARE HARD TO RESET IN THIS GAME. **
  8.
  9. Before touching the Battle Tree, you are going to need to do a few things:
  10.
  11. 1.) Obtain a Destiny Knot
  12.
  13. 2.) Obtain an Everstone
  14.
  15. 3.) Hatch 20 eggs
  16.
  17. 4.) Talk to the sleepy Ace Trainer outside of the Battle Tree (after step 3) to unlock the ability to use the Judge function in the PC. This shows you IV.
  18. * You want BEST in every stat. If it doesn't say best, you don't have 31 in the stat.
  19. ** The only exceptions to this rule are: Trick room mons(and someothers) and Pokemon who do not use PHYSICAL attacks at all.
  20. *** Trick room mons are going to want 0 SPEED IV. "No good" signifies that the stat is 0.
  21. **** Pokemon who plan on using Rest/sleeptalk want 0 Speed IV so that they tank a hit before rest goes off. It is also argued that Aegislash should run 0 Speed IV in order to always attack after taking a hit(to stay in defense form before attacking), but some argue against it so that it can outspeed other Aegislash. It's speed is already pretty slow so that's up to you.
  22. ***** Pokemon who do not use pysical attacks want 0 ATTACK IV(not special attack, just attack.) this is to ensure they do less confusion damage to themselves.
  23.
  24. To obtain a Destiny Knot, you will need to either fight the Battle Tree and get your ass handed to you by competitive pokemon or do Battle Royal and get cheated out of every win.
  25. As you can see there is no easy way to do this. Every way will take time. Battle Royal is the fastest, and there is a shitty strategy that will allow you to have less of a headache.
  26. This strategy involves Alolan Muk. You will need to grab a Grimer from the grass at the Ula'ula trash plant on the northern side of the island. Level this up to a Muk via the Elite 4.
  27.
  28. * You can get a lucky egg(increased EXP gain) from the Professor if you have 50 or more pokemon in your pokedex. You will put this on Muk.
  29.
  30. The Muk will need to be level 50 and learn:
  31. - Sludge Wave
  32. - Substitute
  33. - MINIMIZE
  34. - KNOCK OFF
  35.
  36. *Sludge wave and substitiute can be replaced
  37.
  38. Give Muk a Sitrus Berry, leftovers, or black sludge.
  39.
  40. IN BATTLE ROYAL YOUR TURN ORDER WILL BE:
  41. 1.) minimize
  42. 2.) minimize
  43. 3.) minimize
  44. 4.)Sub*
  45. 4a.)Sludge wave/knock off sniping of weak pokemon.
  46.
  47. That's it. Good luck. You're going to need to do this for every single EV training item in the shop as well. 16 points each. Destiny knot is 48.
  48. *You get 1 point for fainting all three of your pokemon(total loss), 2 for losing but still having a living pokemon, and 5 for winning on master difficulty in Battle Royal.
  49. **Number of pokemon alive also counts as points. The goal is for muk to not die and at least get 2 kills. You will usually win.
  50. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. There is another method that I was reluctant to include in the guide that will allow you to gain destiny knot, possibly quicker.
  53.
  54. This involves you catching 5 pokemon with the ability "Pickup". Lillipup and Alola Meowth have this ability, and they will need to be level 24 to actually use this to obtain a destiny knot, but the chance becomes higher with level.
  55.
  56. The way the pickup ability works is that after a battle(yes, wild battles count.) you have a 10% chance for the pokemon with pickup to randomly spawn an item from a set item pool. Destiny knot is one of these items. So... fill your party with 5 cat(or dog) slaves and have them disappoint you for hours as you get nothing but healing items until you get a destiny knot. Time consuming, boring, and you HAVE TO CHECK THE POKEMON AFTER EVERY BATTLE TO SEE IF THEY HAVE AN ITEM. THIS MEANS THEY NEED TO BE STARK NAKED, NO ITEMS OR THEY WON'T GENERATE ANY.
  57.
  58. Generally, you are just going to have a strong pokemon in front and 5 meowth/lillipup in the other slots and just battle in tall grass over and over, checking your status screen after every battle to see if they pick anything up. If they do take it off. If they don't, cry. Good luck.
  59.
  60. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  61.
  62.
  63.
  64. Now you have Destiny Knot and all the EV training items. We will be ignoring the EV items for now.
  65.
  66. Your next step is to catch a pokemon that can learn false swipe. If you started with a Rowlett(or have one) you can skip this step.
  67.
  68. You are going to want to run over to( http://www.thonky.com/pokemon-sun-moon/pokemon-qr-codes/absol.png )- click and scan this with the in-game QR scanner, and get yourself a SUPERLUCK ABSOL.
  69.
  70. Once you have that, you are going to want to level him up a bit so you can use him later for other pokemon in the late game.
  71.
  72. Now you need a Munchlax and a Hypno with Switcheroo.
  73.
  74. Munchlax can be found( http://www.thonky.com/pokemon-sun-moon/pokemon-qr-codes/munchlax.png )
  75.
  76. Hypno here ( http://www.thonky.com/pokemon-sun-moon/pokemon-qr-codes/hypno-female.png )
  77.
  78.
  79.
  80. The information ahead is VERY important. Read carefully.
  81.
  82. Your Absol will need: Swords dance, Night Slash, Psycho Cut, and FALSE SWIPE with a QUICK CLAW
  83.
  84. Your Munchlax will need: RECYCLE and needs to be holding a SMOKE BALL. HE WILL BE YOUR LEAD. Use the move deleter in the Hau'oli City Pokemon center to remove ALL OTHER MOVES. You will need to use the move reminder in the Elite 4 Pokemon center to remember Recycle.
  85.
  86. *If in need of heart scales, order sushi in Ula'Ula city restaurant to get 4 heart scales for $4,000.
  87.
  88. Your Hypno just needs to remember Switcheroo and be holding a LEPPA BERRY.
  89.
  90. Make sure you have a few Adrenaline Orbs.
  91.
  92. You will go to Ula'ula Island: Mount Hokulani, to the FIRST PATCH OF GRASS YOU SEE WHEN HEADING DOWN THE ROAD FROM THE POKEMON CENTER to find ditto.
  93.
  94. Your turn order should be:
  95.
  96. Start with Munchlax
  97. Use an ADRENALINE ORB
  98. Swap to Hypno
  99. Use Switcheroo
  100. The opposing ditto will now have infinite PP and can not kill itself with struggle.
  101. Switch to Absol, swords dance THREE TIMES.
  102. False swipe ditto
  103. Ditto will now call for help
  104. DO NOT KILL THE FIRST DITTO.
  105. After killing 31 Ditto that have been called in, capture the 32nd.
  106. This will ENSURE this new ditto has 4IV.
  107. Now go do it again, you need two ditto after all.
  108. * protip, don't use psycho slash to kill opposing ditto. If one transforms into your Absol, it will be immune to psycho slash and you are going to get fucked because he copied your dance buffs. Psycho slash is fodder incase you fuck up, it makes it so only one attack on the enemy ditto can actually hit you and kill you (night slash)
  109. ** You don't really have to go through the process of swords dancing if your false swiper is a high level. I never bothered.
  110. *** If you use SUBSTITUTE the enemy Ditto will not be able to transform.
  111. **** Another strategy is to use Muk and forget every move but Memento. This will cause enemy ditto to transform into Muk and kill themselves, allowing you to slowly watch them die as you spam adrenaline orbs to pass the turns. Slow, but less user input involved. This works with any pokemon that can learn Memento.
  112.
  113. These two ditto are going to need to have a total of 6 perfect IV split across one another. That means one will need to have 2 that the other does not.
  114. *IE: One has HP, ATT, DEF, SPD and the other has SPATT, SPDEF, HP, SPD
  115. **THIS DOES NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE BREEDING FOR 0 SPD OR 0 ATT, YEAH GOOD LUCK WITH THAT IT'S HARDER THAN 6IV TO GET.
  116.
  117.
  118.
  119. To grab an Everstone just go fight Ilima in his house in Hau'oli City and he will give you one.
  120.
  121.
  122. At this point in time you should have:
  123. 1.) Two ditto with 4iv, two of which oppose each other
  124. 2.) A Destiny Knot
  125. 3.) An Everstone
  126.
  127. You're ready to breed now right? WRONG.
  128.
  129. You're going to need to catch an Abra from Hau'oli City. Breed this Abra with one of the Ditto, ignore the destiny knot and everstone for now.
  130. * Breeding is done in the Ranch. You know where the Ranch is. Pokemon do not level up in the Ranch. It is not a daycare, just a fuckhouse.
  131.
  132. After you have bred a fuckton of Abra and now have a Synchronize Abra with the following natures:
  133.
  134. Timid
  135. Modest
  136. Adamant
  137. Bold
  138. Careful
  139. Jolly
  140. Impish
  141.
  142. You are ready to... CATCH MORE DITTO.
  143.
  144. For this you are going to want the Abra in your first slot and your Flase Swiper in the second.
  145.
  146. Start with the Timid Abra and... get it killed. Kill the Abra. Don't worry, Synchronize will still work, but your Absol gets thrown out instead of your Abra now! Yay for saving time.
  147.
  148. Now, with your dead Abra still in the first slot, go find some ditto. You now have a 50% chance for this ditto to have a Timid nature. Good luck.
  149. * This only works on the FIRST DITTO YOU ENCOUNTER IN A BATTLE. SYNC DOES NOT WORK ON DITTO CALLED IN FROM SOS.
  150. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  151.
  152. "Great guide! I have an improvement for gathering dittos of all natures though. Currently, it is possible to use one Pokemon that knows synchronize to get a 50% chance of getting a nature of your choosing.
  153. You take advantage of sos battling to do this. When a ditto is called into a battle by SOS, if your synchronizer Pokemon is in battle, it will give a 50% chance of giving you the first Pokemon in your teams ability. Therefore, if you have a fainted modest Pokemon in your 1st Pokemon slot, but your synchronizer in battle is quirky when the sos ditto arrives, it will have a 50% chance of being modest. You can then switch the Pokemon in the lead to a fainted Pokemon of another nature and do the same thing. This eliminates the need to catch many Pokemon with synchronizer. Hope this helps!" -SoClashic
  154.
  155. You can try it this way if you want, or do it the way I listed, up to you.
  156.
  157. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  158.
  159. After you have repeated this process and gotten ditto with all of those natures and a pokemon you want to breed, you can actually start breeding! JK
  160.
  161. You gotta get a pokemon with flame body now or eggs will take fucking years to hatch. Go catch a Magby or something. ( http://www.thonky.com/pokemon-sun-moon/pokemon-qr-codes/magby.png )
  162. PUT IT IN YOUR FIRST SLOT BECAUSE...
  163.
  164.
  165.
  166.
  167.
  168.
  169. IT'S TIME TO BREED, SON. HUNKER DOWN THIS IS GOING TO TAKE A FUCKING LONG ASS TIME.
  170.
  171. *Let me start off by saying I will include a section on egg moves and hidden abilities at the VERY END of the guide. If you want to know how to get those skip to the end and come back.
  172.
  173. Okay. Get a Ditto with the nature you want your bred pokemon to have. Also take out said pokemon you want to breed. Put them both in your party.
  174.
  175. Give Ditto the Everstone. The Everstone makes whoever holds it ALWAYS PASS DOWN THE NATURE TO THE NEWLY BRED POKEMON.
  176.
  177. Give the pokemon you want to breed the Destiny Knot. The Destiny Knot makes both parents pass down 5IV to the newly bred pokemon. This effect will take 5 random IV from each parent. RNG boys.
  178.
  179. Now put both pokemon into the Ranch.
  180.
  181. Go outside and hop on Tauros and run around a bit. The lady in front of the Ranch will change her stance if she has an egg for you. When she changes her stance, grab an egg.
  182.
  183. Now, directly in front of her is a small pin that Tauros can't fit in. Get off Tauros and walk inside. Wiggle around a bit until you have enough room to summon Tauros.
  184.
  185. Now run in circles like a maniac until the egg hatches. Check the nature of the pokemon and see if it has the same one as ditto. If it does, talk to the lady in front and grab your egg if she has one.
  186.
  187. Take this egg and dump it in the box. Make sure you have two open slots in your party, obviously with your Flame Body pokemon in front and your new pokemon with correct nature.
  188.
  189. Remove your parents from the Ranch. Take both items off of them. Deposit the two parents in the box and grab one of the 4IV ditto. Time to start the neverending ride.
  190.
  191.
  192. Place the destiny knot on the 4IV ditto this time, and the Everstone on the new pokemon with correct nature.
  193.
  194. Put them into the Ranch. This time take eggs until you have a full party, and put any spare eggs in your box. They will be sent to the last box you visited on your PC, so make sure it's an empty one.
  195.
  196. Once you have hatched all of these eggs using the Taruos-running-in-circles-in-a-small-pin method, go to the box and Judge all of the pokemon. Here you are looking for a pokemon with any max IV.
  197.
  198. If you have any with the same 4 max IV as the ditto, you can replace the old shitty baby and put the new better baby in the ranch with the Everstone, and swap to the OTHER ditto with 4 IV and give it the Destiny Knot.
  199.
  200. Now do the same thing until you get a pokemon OPPOSITE THE GENDER OF THE 4IV BABY YOU JUST PUT IN.
  201.
  202. Once you get a pokemon with the OPPOSITE GENDER and 4/5 IV THAT INCLUDE THE IV YOUR MALE IS MISSING, take ditto out and take it's Destiny knot because that mofo just got replaced.
  203.
  204. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  205.
  206. Let's clear up what should be happening right now in some steps:
  207. 1.) NATURE Ditto (everstone) with Pokemon you want
  208. 2.) Make a baby with the correct nature
  209. 3.) Take Ditto and Pokemon out.
  210. 4.) Give new CORRECT NATURE baby the everstone.
  211. 5.) Take out a 4 IV Ditto. Give it the Destiny Knot and put the correct nature baby and the ditto in the Ranch.
  212. 6.) Breed a batch. Judge them in the PC, check if they have the same BEST 4 IV like the ditto. You may also want it to have the ability you want.
  213.
  214. The path branches here.
  215.
  216. 6a.) You have gotten a 4IV pokemon. You will now replace the one in the Ranch with this new baby. Be sure to give it the Everstone.
  217. Now, place the OTHER 4IV ditto in the Ranch with the new 4IV baby pokemon. BE SURE TO GIVE THE DITTO THE DESTINY KNOT. Real breeding begins now.
  218.
  219.
  220. 6b.) You didn't get a 4IV pokemon... Keep breeding and replacing the pokemon you currently have in the Ranch with new pokemon with better IV until they have the same IV as the ditto. Do not remove the Ditto until then.
  221.
  222.
  223. At this point you have a 4IV pokemon with Everstone in the Ranch with a Ditto that has the two missing IV(and two matching IV) in the Ranch with it that is holding Destiny Knot.
  224.
  225. 7.) Keep hatching eggs until you get a pokemon OPPOSITE THE GENDER OF THE ONE IN THE RANCH, WITH AT LEAST 4 OF THE SAME IV AS THE NEW DITTO.
  226. * FEMALE POKEMON PASS DOWN THEIR SPECIES AND ABILITY. KEEP THIS IN MIND LATER. YOU ALWAYS WANT THE FEMALE TO HAVE THE ABILITY(AND TO BE THE POKEMON) YOU WANT. MALES ONLY PASS ABILITY WITH DITTO.
  227. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  228. At this point you will keep breeding better and better pokemon, you will want to write down what IV your current male and female in the Ranch have. Make sure to Judge after every batch.
  229. If at any point you breed a pokemon with better IV than the ones in the Ranch, replace them. Be sure to also transfer the items over to the new pokemon. At this point it shouldn't really matter who holds what.
  230.
  231. Eventually you will end up with a 5IV male and a 5IV female, each will be missing an IV the other has. These will just keep breeding forever until you end up with a 6IV pokemon.
  232.
  233. If the moveset you are using doesn't require both physical and special moves, you can just stop at 5IV with max IV in all but the attack stat you AREN'T using. Pure special attackers want minimal attack IV.
  234.
  235. also remember IF IT ISN'T BEST, IT ISN'T MAX IV. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FANTASTIC(30) and BEST(31) CAN CAUSE A LOSS IN A MATCH.
  236.
  237.
  238.
  239.
  240.
  241. So there you have it. That's how you breed. This guide isn't over yet. I still have to cover EV training and egg moves/hidden abilities.
  242.
  243. --------------------------------------------------------HIDDEN ABILITIES--------------------------------------------------------------
  244.
  245. Hidden abilities are obtained in a similar fashion as the 4IV ditto hunting I explained earlier. Actually it's exactly the same thing except you just need to bring your False Swiper and SOS chain the pokemon you want to breed.
  246. At about 32 again, you MIGHT get a hidden ability. Kinda just have to wing it. You can try to bring a pokemon with Trace (Porygon, Porygon-2) to see if the pokemon have it or not, but even that is a little hard to determine.
  247. After you have gotten a pokemon with the hidden ability you want, remember that only female pass down abilities with breeding. Male pass it down with ditto though.
  248.
  249. ---------------------------------------------------- EGG MOVES AND POKEBALLS----------------------------------------------------------
  250.
  251. *Im not even trying to center this shit, im just writing information, I don't care how ugly it is.
  252.
  253. Egg moves are bred from the father. Find a pokemon with the same egg group as the pokemon you are breeding that also has the move you want and is male. Breed the male other species with the female of your pokemon.
  254. Baby now has the moves that can be passed down from the father of the other species. Replace the female every time you get a new egg move from a new father pokemon of another species.
  255. Eventually you'll have all the egg moves they can learn(4) and you can start breeding with males of your species again. I probably left out a lot of information but that's the just of it really.
  256. *Egg moves that have been forgotten CAN NOT BE RELEARNED LATER. DON'T FUCK UP AND ERASE THEM IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM.
  257.
  258. Pokeballs are passed down from the mother, and will always be the ball the mother was caught in. As of SUN/MOON,(I think? could be earlier) if a male breeds with a ditto, the male's ball is passed down.
  259.
  260. *As of Sun/Moon both male and female pass down egg moves.(Haven't confirmed myself)
  261. **As of Sun/Moon, if the male and female are of the same species and in different balls, there is a 50/50 chance on what ball the baby will have.(Also haven't confirmed myself)
  262.
  263. ---------------------------------------------------------EV TRAINING-------------------------------------------------------------------
  264.
  265. Yeah remember those bracers you got that reduced your speed and boosted another stats EV gain? We need those now for that 6IV pokemon you just bred.
  266.
  267. You should know which two EV you are going to train. Make sure you have both of those bracers.
  268.
  269. EV are stat points that are gained from battling pokemon and defeating them. Most pokemon give 1 point, some give 2.(list below) Whereas 1 IV = 1 Stat Point at level 100(1 IV = 0.5 Stat Point at level 50), 4 EV = 1 stat point. One point matters a lot. It's the difference between killing in one attack, surviving an attack, or your pokemon going first in battle. EV are gained when your pokemon gains experience. This means if EXP Share is OFF only pokemon that have entered battle will gain EXP and EV. You DO NOT want freshly bred pokemon getting EV from random battles, so ALWAYS have EXP Share OFF when breeding. ONLY TURN IT ON WHEN YOU ARE READY TO EV TRAIN THEM PROPERLY.
  270.
  271.
  272.
  273. ** AT ANY TIME YOU CAN CHECK A POKEMON'S CURRENT EV BY PRESSING "Y" WHILE IN THE POKEMON'S SUMMARY PAGE. The yellow shape is your pokemon's base EV(which means nothing). If there is a shitty ugly dark yellow outline around your pretty yellow shape, that means your pokemon accidentally picked up some EV somewhere. You have fucked up and need to reset those back to 0 before training. This is done with berries obtained from the berry tree on Route 10. You can save before taking these berries and soft reset if you don't get berries you want. These berries reduce the EV by 10 points on use, so 26 for a total reset. Use the berry island on Poke Pelago to mass produce them and be sure to speed up the process with some beans. 11 pattern beans and 39 normal beans gives you a 24 hour time boost. **
  274.
  275. These berries are:
  276.
  277. Pomeg Berry- HP
  278.
  279. Kelpsy Berry- Attack
  280.
  281. Qualot Berry - Defense
  282.
  283. Hondew Berry - Special Attack
  284.
  285. Grepa Berry - Special Defense
  286.
  287. Tomato Berry - Speed
  288.
  289. *** If you are in the "Y" stat screen and looking at your yellow shape and have BLUE shapes coming off of your yellow shape, that means your pokemon has reached their 510 EV limit. If a stat is sparkling, that means the EV has been maxed at 252.***
  290.
  291. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  292. "
  293. EV calculation looks like:
  294.
  295. (Base Yield + Power Item) * (Pokerus Bonus) * (Chain Bonus) * (No. Pokemon Defeated) = Total Yield
  296.
  297. We want 252.
  298.
  299. (1+8) * 2 * 2 * 7 = 252 EVs (killing 1 EV pokemon with a power item + pokerus means 252 EV in 7 kills)
  300.
  301. (2+8) * 2 * 2 * 6 = 240 EVs (killing 2 EV pokemon with a power item + pokerus means we are short by 12 EVs in 6)
  302.
  303. (2+8) * 2 * 2 * 7 = 280 EVs (killing 2 EV pokemon with a power item + pokerus means we are over by 28 EVs in 7 kills)
  304.
  305. " -Thanks to "Bigglezworthe" for the forumlas.
  306.
  307. TL;DR: 1 and 2 EV yield pokemon have the same exact result with 7 being the number of pokemon you need to kill to max a stat(EV).
  308.
  309. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  310.
  311.
  312. To train ____ go to:
  313.
  314. HP - Malie City Outer Cape - Grimer (SOS Battle) - 30% Chance
  315.
  316. ATT - Route 1 - Yungoose (SOS Battle) - 30% Chance (Day) | Route 1 - Spinarak (SOS Battle) - 20% Chance (Night)
  317.
  318.
  319. DEF - Route 12 - Geodude (SOS Battle) - 40% Chance
  320. -They have Sturdy and Self destruct. Yeah have fun with that.
  321.
  322. SPD - Seaward Cave - Zubat (SOS Battle) - 80% Chance
  323.
  324. SPDEF - Route 2 - Drowzee (SOS Battle) - 20% Chance
  325.
  326. SPATT - Route 1 Trainer School - Magnemite (SOS Battle) - 50% Chance
  327.
  328. *Credits go to the nintendolife.com guide on EV training for which pokemon give what EV
  329. ** Alternatively, you can check what EFFORT VALUES pokemon give on seribii and determine what to SOS chain yourself.
  330.
  331. ------------------------------------------------Additional EV Training Spots-----------------------------------------------------------
  332. *These spots give double the points as the ones above. Please read the notes at the bottom before continuing to use these.
  333.
  334. HP: - - - - - Munchlax - - - - - Route 1 (Melemele Island) *Happiny gives the same EV as Munchlax, no need to run. Kill it.
  335. -Munchlax carries leftovers so it heals over time. This is super annoying.

  341. -Torkoal is an ASSHOLE. It runs curse, lava plume, defense curl, body slam, smokescreen, and flame wheel. It LOVES to fail EVERY SINGLE SOS CALL for some reason. While it's screaming at you and the world around it, it will drop your accuracy six stages and make it so when you do hit it you'll do fuck all for damage thanks to defense curl and curse. Oh right curse buffs attack too, so be prepared to get shafted when a drought sos Torkoal comes in and you get hit with a 6 stage boosted flame wheel. Oh, and be sure to kill the other Torkoal immediately. It can Lava Plume and kill the flase swiped Torkoal and fuck your EV. DON'T FORGET BODY SLAM PARALYZES 99% OF THE TIME IF YOU AREN'T BURNED. WHO DID THIS? WHO FUCKING MADE THIS POKEMON?

  354. **If using the Oricorio farm, please be weary of the Butterfree showing up when SOSing. If one shows up DO NOT KILL IT. RUN.

  356. Credits go to zstern22, he posted the info above here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeMoonSun/comments/5fytg6/the_best_ev_training_spots_in_pokemon_sun_moon/
  357. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  358.
  359. As far as actual training goes, you're going to want your false swiper again. Put him in the first slot. Give your 6IV pokemon the bracer that increases the EV you are about to farm for.
  360. * At this point your 6IV pokemon might want pokerus. BE SURE TO HAVE EXPSHARE OFF WHEN YOU BATTLE TO SPREAD POKERUS, IF YOU DON'T YOU JUST FUCKED YOUR POKEMONs EVs.
  361.
  362. Now, turn EXP share ON and try to find the pokemon you're going to SOS chain for EV. RUN FROM ANY OTHER POKEMON. DO NOT FUCK YOUR EV. IF FOR SOME REASON THEY CALL A POKEMON THAT ISN'T THE SAME ONE AS THEM, RUN.
  363.
  364. You have encountered the pokemon you want to SOS chain for EV, you have false swipped it and popped an Adrenaline Orb. You will kill 7(SEVEN) of the SAME pokemon called in from the SOS if you have POKERUS.
  365. ** If you do not have pokerus, you will kill 14. Make sure your false swipped pokemon doesn't kill itself by swapping your false swipe target every 6 turns or so.
  366.
  367. EVs max at 252, which with an EV boosting item and Pokerus are able to do in just 7 pokemon. Easy, but also easy to fuck up. Save before you actually fight anything so you can just reload if you do end up fucking up.
  368.
  369. You can EV train two stats up to 252 and one to 4. Yes the 4 does kinda matter.
  370. *Technically the last one goes to 6, but this doesn't matter because 4EV = 1 stat point. The two extra points do nothing.
  371. **You should probably do the two 252 stats before the 4 stat.
  372. ***If you have a pokemon that doesn't just max to 252, i'm so sorry for the struggle you're going to experience trying to math it out.

  376. GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I found this: https://themetalfleece.github.io/sunmoon/ExactEVs.html
  377.
  378. What is this you might ask? It calculates exactly how many pokemon you need to kill in a chain to get your exact EV!
  379. It's a little hard to understand at first, but let me quote the author:
  380.
  381. "For example, let's say the player needs exactly 10 EVs in a given Stat, while his Pokemon currently has 0 EVs in that particular Stat. Also, the player chains wild Pokemon which yield 1 EV per faint (e.g. Ratata). By inputting those values and pressing "Calculate", the app responds with:
  382.
  383. 1 First faint with Pokerus
  384. 2 Chain faints with Pokerus
  385.
  386. Therefore, by having Pokerus on the Pokemon he is EV training, he'll need to faint 2 Pokemon which are being summoned for help and 1 Pokemon outside of the chain (i.e. the first wild encounter). The app also provides info about required faints with Pokerus and Power Items, to speed up the EV training process (i.e. Power Anklet)."
  387.
  388. So big thanks to "TheMetalFleece" over at the Smogon forums for making Hell a lot easier to deal with!

  392. Pro fucking tip boys and girls: Make this shit easy on yourself. I just had to reset two whole pokemon because I got sidetracked and lost count of what I was doing.
  393.
  394. 1.) Find out what EV you need.
  395.
  396. 2.) Find out where to go
  397.
  398. 3.) Have the items you need with you, and have pokerus spread to your party. (It can spread with EXP share off, don't worry.)
  399.
  400. 4.) Open the site above and enter your needed EV.
  401.
  402. 5.) Before you start, have a tally ready and SAVE before walking into any grass. Work your way down the list.
  403.
  404. 6.) After every step on the EV list CHECK YOUR STATS AT https://pokemonshowdown.com/damagecalc/ (you can figure it out, I believe in you) IF THEY ARE CORRECT, SAVE, IF NOT RELOAD (L+R+select)
