- Araceli moved in two months ago, and I have already seen improvements in both of our lives. Something about her aura and being around me made me feel, calmer. Not to mention her cooking had made me feeling way healthier than I had ever been. She had moved on from sleeping on the couch to me in bed. She always snuggled up next to me and placed her hands on my chest while she dozed off. I appreciated her advances, but I was never in the mood to “continue on” that path.
- It was a normal Saturday just like any other one. I slept in on my days off. She never minded, it gave her more time in bed with me.
- I groggily walked into the kitchen which was also our dining room. Araceli was standing in front of the stove, the smell of bacon and eggs filling the room.
- “Good morning, master! I’m making you a ham and cheese omelette with a side of turkey bacon. I know it’s one of your favorites.” Damn right it is. She poured me a cup of coffee as the phone rang. “Don’t worry, I got it.” She said, pulling the phone cord to her.
- “Hello.” She paused. “Oh, Mrs. Billinger! What are you calling for today?” Araceli asked my mother on the other end. A few seconds later, I saw her face drop to a sad frown. “Oh, is that so? I’ll hand it to him then.” I instinctively reached over, her face still had a look of emptiness.
- “Hey mom!”
- “Hey honey!” She replies in her sweet tone. “I wanted to call to wish you a happy birthday!”
- Oh yeah, today was my birthday. I totally forgot.
- “Oh, thanks!”
- “What are you planning to do for your big 25th?”
- “Probably go to the bar with a few friends, that’s all.” I recalled the plans I had made a few nights before. It must’ve slipped my mind with the overdue stock report I had to write.
- “That sounds fun! I have to get going. I hope you have a good day!” She said before she hung up. I took a breath as I looked over to Araceli. She stood there as stiff as a board.
- “Master, you never told me today was your birthday...”
- Oh dear. She started tearing up as she fell to her knees.
- “I-I’m Sorry I haven’t planned anything for your big day...” I got out of my chair and gave her a hug.
- “It’s ok, I forgot to tell you. It’s not your fault.”
- “B-but I don’t have anything to give you!”
- “It’s ok.” I reassured. “You being here is enough of a gift.” She sobbed silently. “Look, I’ll be out all day with my friends. Maybe you can set something up while I’m gone?” She sniffled, looking at my face.
- “If that’s what you want, I can do that.” I smiled in response.

- After breakfast and a quick shower, I heard a knock on the door. Answering it, my bud Joe stood at the doorway.
- “Hey hey hey, there’s the man!” He exclaimed.
- “Good to see ya!” I returned his enthusiasm. He walked in and we both sat down on the couch. He was the planned DD for tonight, as my other friend would surely be wasted. He slapped me on the back as Araceli walked in.
- “Who was that mas...” She dropped the broom she was holding. Joe got his first look at her, too bad it wasn’t a greater first impression. She rushed over to the both of us in a defensive state, grabbing onto his shirt. “How dare you hurt master! He’s a great man! What has he ever done to you?” She yelled.
- “Hey hey hey! He’s a friend! Calm down!” I explained to her. She let go of him.
- “I-I’m terribly sorry, mister. I had no idea you were acquaintances.” Joe brushed himself off.
- “No worries.” He turned to me. “You ready to go? I just need to use the bathroom real quick.” I nodded.
- “Ready when you are.” He gave us a finger gun as he rushed down the hall. Araceli walked silently into the kitchen. Joe returned after a bit, but was stopped by Araceli before we could leave. She held a tray of assorted cheeses and crackers.
- “I’m sorry about earlier. Please, be our guest and take a few.” He shook his head.
- “I’m fine, honest.” Araceli has a sense of surprise in her face.
- “We’re gonna head out for a while, I should be back by 11.” I waved goodbye to her as I left for a night on the town.

- Joe, my other bud Mike, and I drove around town, saw some shitty movie, had dinner at a surprisingly good restaurant, and ended our night at a local tavern. We picked up Mike’s Oni wife, as she had told him adamantly she wanted to go for a few drinks and we did just that. Joe didn’t have anything, Mike and I had a few beers, while Mike’s Oni wife drank 15 glasses of whiskey before showing any signs of being drunk.
- By the time we were done, all three of us had to practically carry her back into the car. Joe has driven me home first. Although the night was still young, he had to be home to greet his Lamia girlfriend. It was nice to catch up, at least.
- I walked back into the house, a little tipsy, but still in full control.
- The living room was decorated floor to ceiling. Streamers, balloons, and a giant banner were strung and hind everywhere, making the room a multi-colored disco. A wrapped box and envelope sat on the coffee table. Araceli then walked in carrying a decorative cake the size of a pillow. I could see she was extremely tired and breathing heavily as she wiped some sweat off her forehead.
- “Sorry that *pant* this isn’t a lot, but I did *breath* as much as I could.” I wonder what she would consider a full party.
- “Oh my god, Araceli. This is great!” She grinned in response.
- “I’m so glad to hear that, master! Lets open your presents!” She sat down on the couch, taking a sigh of relief, probably her first time relaxing all day. The box was small and flat. Inside was a hand painted art piece of the house, with me and Araceli standing outside. It wasn’t a Picasso by any means, but it was nice. I then noticed the signature. She had made it.
- “Ooh, when did you make this?” I asked.
- “2 hours ago.” She responded.
- Ok, now things were starting to get ridiculous.
- “Really? Well then.” I said as I moved to the envelope. Inside was a card that she had signed, but there was a message at the bottom.
- “I hope you enjoy the game.”
- I looked at what else there was in the envelope. Two tickets to the next Packers vs Bears game. I looked over to Araceli.
- “I know how much you like to see the bears lose.” She had gotten me end zone seats. I nearly cried as I hugged her with all of my might.
- “Thank you! Thank you so much!”
- “No, thank you, master.”
- We snuggled on the couch and watched some comedy movie eating the chocolate cake she had made. I had to explain some of the jokes to her, but I could tell she enjoyed it.

- I trudged into bed, knowing she would be in soon after. When she did come in, I was dumbfounded. There she stood, wearing only a small bra and panties. I had never seen her wearing those, mostly because she liked to keep her privacy.
- “D-do you like what you see, master?”
- I’m not usually one for romance, but this would be a night I would remember.
