  1. Arriving on roiling roots, Malus comes to where she hears the endless screams of agony from the local wildlife, sensing a strong disturbance as Vigr and Sibyl mercilessly massacre the pathetic desert dwelling creatures for the Fire Crystals that develop inside their bodies.
  2.
  3. A look of sincere displeasure can be seen upon the Mire's Cruel Mistress as she looks on at the small gathering.
  4.
  5. "Now, I'm all for weeding the garden of weaklings, but honestly, don't you think your actions are a bit excessive?" She'd ask as she looks at the pile of Domice corpses.
  6. (Malus Manchineella)
  7.
  8. Vigr did not know what the FUCK he was looking at.
  9.
  10. He'd never seen an Ent before, and had only heard about them in his guide to Mire monsters, though without pictures or any information other than 'they like nature', how was he supposed to know what this thing was?
  11.
  12. "...Uh," A pause, as he looked at the pile of Domice corpses. "Excessive? No, not really. There's like... Millions of these things around, all over the place."
  13.
  14. A shrug.
  15.
  16. "Anyway- What the hell are you?"
  17. (Vigr Dyr)
  18.
  19. Without a word to offer in reverence to the emergence of such a gargantuan manifestation of the shadowmire -- The numbers of the Iron Legion stationed at the clifftop just northbound brought the foliage to life. Soon, their jetboots transformed their persons to blurs above, allowing for azure pen strokes to glaze over the clouded sky above, circling about akin to agitated corvine.
  20.
  21. One by one they rained down, knees-first the pelt into the sands... Slowly rising to reveal their antimagus attire. The Ent's gander would showcase their already unveiled tyrium-touched blades as they readied themselves, surrounding Asura Nomont as they were trained to.
  22.
  23. Achyonite-born and trained soldiers, readied to fight to fulfill their forced role: Cogs in a callous machine, if only to keep their 'core' alive.
  24. Said core, in this instance? Was Asura himself, an unarmed nonmagi, taking to his assistants to flash-crystalize the circuitry still lying within the corpsesof Domice to power their technologies.
  25.
  26. The man's breathing hastened, for while he had never laid his eyes on such a creature before -- He could already determine where it had come from.
  27.
  28. This was not Osrona-borne, and judging from what he heard, not Moxtlian either. This, was from the Shadowmire, a faction he had only known death and destruction to herald from. Thus, the expression of grave concern marred upon his visage.
  29. (Asura Nomont)
  30.
  31. "Nah, not really."
  32.
  33. Opposing the flies that were surrounding Malus, Sibyl would have the scent of sweet acacia which had attract that of butterflies around her, surrounding her at every given moment, even in the desert.
  34.
  35. A head quirked to the side, as it seemed she was hurt by such measures, but Sibyl did not mind, just staring at the Mire creature, smiling.
  36.
  37. She continued to plague the land with her cosmic energies to kill more Domices as they come by. Their sacrifice would only help that of Sibyl at the very end.
  38.
  39. "They'll repopulate, just like how we are easy to kill each other off. Simple."
  40. (Sibyl Cirque)
  41.
  42. Shifting her gaze briefly to the Iron Legion that swarm the area in defense of their commander - the legendary Non-Magi Banker, Asura - Malus frowns in ever greater disdain. Without a word, her roots begin to erupt from the churning sands all around them, nearly matching the Cogs in number as she sensed the threat they posed.
  43.
  44. "Unrepentant in your slaughter?" She'd ask as she turns her gaze to Vigr and Sibyl, clicking her long white tongue inside her mouth, a soft sign of maternal disapproval. Then she focuses back on Vigr as he asks what exactly she is.
  45.
  46. "I am known as an Ent, a Daughter of Nyx. Borne of her blessing, and charged with the duty of punishing those such as yourselves. Servants of the Empires of Man which insist on destroying the natural order of things." As if to emphasize her point, she glares towards Asura for a moment.
  47.
  48. Reaching into her roots, Malus produces a skull, stripped of flesh though still stained pink from how freshly harvested it had been. "I've been intimately acquainted with members of your family, in fact, Vanir... Gren of Beiskr. The blind Priestess. The Child of Light that claims to know what is best for Nature..." Gren, Ragnhild, Arden... Yes, Malus had clashed with quite a few of the denizens of Aesirheim in the past.
  49.
  50. "Unfortunately I've yet to add any of them to my collection. Perhaps you'll be the first?" She'd say, locking her gaze on Vigr.
  51. (Malus Manchineella)
  52.
  53. Edetha peers up from the top of the ledge, listening to the Ent's speech, silently watching.
  54.
  55. For she knows her own path is the most vulgar to nature. Draoicathrach, the very opposite of the ideals of a druid. One who devotes themselves to studying civilization. Forsaking the wisdom of the forest, instead wondering what stories a house could tell. Ignoring the melody of the winds, carrying across the land, instead watching people and money as it passes hands and travels through a city.
  56.
  57. Yes, her ideals are truly anathema to the Ent.
  58.
  59. Perhaps it would be best to just slink back into the city she so comfortably dwells in and tries to commune with.
  60. (Edetha Revargo)
  61.
  62. As the situation seemed escalate rather quickly, Sibyl locked eyes with the ent. Her arms folding as she turned her sights onto Vigr, but did not welcome the threats that came from the creature of the Mire.
  63.
  64. "Yeah?"
  65.
  66. She didn't move, she didn't take a stance of battle, but allowed for Malus to choose her focus, and that was of Vigr Dyr. Confident in his capabilities, she opened a hand, extending it towards Malus.
  67.
  68. "She has a liking for you Vigr. Why don't you dance with her?"
  69.
  70. She jests.
  71. (Sibyl Cirque)
  72.
  73. 'Destroying the Natural Order of Things'
  74.
  75. Those words echoed in Asura's head...
  76. Playing back over and over again until he'd be provoked with his memories.
  77.
  78. Memories of Osrona…
  79. Memories of Archmagi Lando glaring down upon his fallen person, within a prison cell, informing that his endeavors were moot.
  80.
  81. That he, was a blatant threat to "The Natural Order of Things..." Those words ticked at him... Stung and ached at him, for he lived a life of struggle and strife... A pry from poverty to finally hope to live as a noble...
  82. And in the moment he'd strain to become something more than a magi's servant? He'd be bludgeoned with that oppressive claim.
  83.
  84. "You wouldn't be the first to tell me, I threaten a Natural Order." He claimed with a scowl, defiant in the magus threat before him. "The fact I breathe, in spite of you monsters... Is a defilement to your 'Natural Order'." He spat with venom laced in his tone.
  85.
  86. He was afraid... But he couldn't allow such a manifestation of his fears control him when he felt there was... A chance, as fleeting as it was. If only, he had the courage to do so against the antics he witnessed in Achyon by the passing day.
  87. … If only, anyone cared to listen.
  88.
  89. "I won't willingly sit by, while human lives are threatened... I don't care what flag nor faith they cling to. The barbaric ways of your 'Order' die, with my vision." He declared openly, daring to challenge powers vastly beyond himself.
  90.
  91. The men to his aid, hunkered down, readying their blades and took to their solemn glares.
  92.
  93. They, were ready.
  94. (Asura Nomont)
  95.
  96. Sibyl also all the while continues to beat down Domices.
  97. (Sibyl Cirque)
  98.
  99. Another mosey through the desert, uneventful and peaceful.
  100.
  101. That was until she crossed this apparent exchange of diverse and wildly unique individuals. Familiar and unfamiliar faces alike amongst them. Unfortunately one of such was the twisted floral features of an older acquaintance, the Ent who first cast her from the mire. Many years ago by now, the realization bore across her face in the pursing of her lips.
  102.
  103. Only catching the tail end of its speech, Tara's sandal pivots to a halt in the sand. It seemed to be an exchange between the three and Malus, one she wouldn't necessarily barge into just yet.
  104.
  105. Sharp eyes remain on Malus until ultimately falling back to Sibyl and her male companion.
  106.
  107. Surely they had this handled.
  108. (Tara Tuffam)
  109.
  110. Vigr frowned her way, then remembered her.
  111.
  112. "Oh... You're the one that hurt Ragnhild before that wedding. I remember you, yeah." A glance was sent to the skull she produced, then a brow was raised as she spoke being intimately acquainted with other Vanirhallans. Gren, who he watched beat her. The blind Priestess, being Ragnhild. The Child of Light, being Arden.
  113.
  114. The Lapine vanished from sight, reappearing near the Ent and leaving a sonic boom where he once stood, kicking up some sand near Sibyl as she opened a hand towards the Ent.
  115.
  116. "I don't see why she'd have a liking for me, but if she wants to fight- Sure... I've got nothing better to do anyway."
  117.
  118. A glance was spared Asura's way, though after seeing how he faced down Jinx before...? He wasn't gonna let the geezer get hurt again. Instead, he'd be this Ent's opponent if things were to escalate like that
  119.
  120. "I've fought mutants, skeletons, and Dullahan. Never an Ent. Let's see what you're capable of."
  121.
  122. Vigr shot his thumb towards the southeast, intent on leading her to a better battleground.
  123. (Vigr Dyr)
  124.
  125. Israfel assumes the Conjurer stance!
  126.
  127. Malus Manchineella assumes the Conjurer stance!
  128.
  129. Malus Manchineella has engaged Vigr Dyr in Dangerous combat, with a capture roll of 1
  130.
  131. {RP BATTLE} Malus Manchineella is ready for battle!
  132.
  133. {RP BATTLE} Malus Manchineella is no longer ready for battle!
  134.
  135. Israfel says, "Vekel."
  136.
  137. {RP BATTLE} Malus Manchineella is ready for battle!
  138.
  139. {RP BATTLE} Malus Manchineella is no longer ready for battle!
  140.
  141. Vekel says, "Israfel."
  142.
  143. Israfel says, "Vekel."
  144.
  145. Inclining her head to Vigr's words and noticing the hostility presented by Asura's own Cog's, Malus quickly moves back to the bloody sanded battleground nearby, forming a defensive fortress of roots around her as she takes up a position near the cliffside.
  146.
  147. "So be it then, come and allow me to feast upon your suffering - let me see how sweet it tastes. Blood and tears, bone and marrow. My children and I will be sure to savor all of it to the very, last, drop."
  148.
  149. Malus would reply, a nostalgic thought of Gren coming to mind before she gives voice to a wistful sigh. Alas, he'd gone off to some far away land. These lesser men would just have to sate her thirst for now.
  150.
  151. Then, looking to the Cogs. "As for those abominations. I'll grind them down to dust and return what was stolen back to the earth."
  152. (Malus Manchineella)
  153.
  154. Certainly, he was not as strong as the magi taken to the fray... But he was not intending to sit back to allow a monster such as this to invoke wrath upon another. It didn't matter if they didn't see him as an ally...
  155.
  156. He had his ideals... And he was going to stand by them.
  157. A finger pointed towards the Ent was followed with an issued command: "Charge it down, and don't allow it to get very far."
  158.
  159. Perhaps, they lacked much understanding on its capabilities, but their armor and training were intended to do exactly as they had unto the subjects of its declared 'Natural Order'.
  160.
  161. Scathe off the magus influence from their bodies...
  162. And chop it down, slice by slice...
  163.
  164. If only Asura himself had adorn himself in any form of protective gear to prepare for such an occasion. It was as though every time he lowered his guard, fate would harshly remind him of the world he still resided within.
  165. Perhaps, this would be its final lesson.
  166.
  167. A glance over towards Vigr, and then back to his charging squadron of the Iron Legion. If he was to take the role of a tactician from the background? Then so be it...
  168. Vigr would have to assure that battle didn't get too close to him, while he remained so vulnerable.
  169.
  170. "No one's dying today." Asura growled through his teeth. "No one adhering to your so-called 'order'."
  171. (Asura Nomont)
  172.
  173. {RP BATTLE} Malus Manchineella is ready for battle!

  198.
  199. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 1)
  200.
  201. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  202.
  203. Asura Nomont assumes the Marksman stance!
  204.
  205. Tough.
  206.
  207. The Ent was extremely durable, and her nature magic only aided in her ability to heal herself. It was aggravating, though Asura's Iron Legion did a great job at distracting the vines. Part of him felt as though that would only serve to piss her off. Maybe she'd try to get rid of Asura quickly before setting her sights on Vigr.
  208.
  209. That would just be something to take advantage of.
  210.
  211. With a shout, Vigr shot forward, clad in gold and tearing away the desert as he flew towards Malus, slamming into the Ent with enough force to send her flying back into the nearby mountains. Then he appeared in front of Asura, intent on filling him in before she could reemerge.
  212.
  213. "Call your soldiers here. Your job's simple-"
  214.
  215. "She's gonna be mad. Probably at you and your legion... So keep her distracted. Do whatever you can to survive as long as you can, and occupy her vines. I'll sneak around and assassinate her."
  216.
  217. "For a few minutes, you're gonna have to lead your soldiers into hell. Can you do that?"
  218.
  219. The Lapine pulled out a few smoke bombs, then tossed them Asura's way, turning his attention to the debris. Malus was probably getting up by now, meaning Vigr had to prepare.
  220.
  221. "...What am I kidding, geezer? You'll figure something out..."
  222.
  223. He began to sidestep, building up speed and momentum and overloading his circuits to such a degree that it was becoming extremely painful. Then he vanished, an occasional streak of gold visible every once in a while, zipping through the desert. It seemed he was preparing something big, and it was up to Asura to keep the Ent occupied for a bit.
  224. (Vigr Dyr)
  225.
  226. Vines scoured the sands, but found themselves countered by a man fashioned to take on magical threats -- trained and honed against dangers as mighty as magi and ogre alike. This, was a far cry from such, and with their numbers? They were able to overwhelm the appendages drawn forth by the Ent, to carry over to the Ent themselves. Tyrium blades skewered where they could, attempting to siphon away ebbs of mana with every slash.
  227.
  228. Certainly, they were only men -- A mere swat would send them sprawling...
  229. However, their armor? It kept magic spells from simply vaporizing them... When massive bursts of fulmination consumed the dunes? They'd resort to the jetboots of the battlearmor, transmogrifying their very appearance to naught by sapphire pillars of light dancing across the skies, taunting and badgering the creature from above to draw its attention.
  230.
  231. It was all at the coordination of the Commander from afar, using Vigr as his assailing shield. While theywere the powerhouse, the Iron Legion acted as a cohesive agent in this scuffle, harassing the adversary where they could to buy Vigr more time to lay upon his assault. Perhaps they wouldn't acknowledge their collective support... Perhaps, they wouldn't care...
  232. Perhaps, in the end, it wouldn't make too much of a difference...
  233.
  234. But one thing was certain...
  235. They were holding their own, for once! Unfortunately, it required the aid of a magi -- but it was enough to showcase that their training was paying off. Achyon's legal protection allowed for this...
  236. In time, it'd come to true fruition.
  237.
  238. "Good. Now, for the kicker.
  239.
  240. MEN! EXPLOSIVE ORDINANCE! FIRE AT WILL!"
  241.
  242. The masses cleared out, taking to the skies to leave the Ent to briefly compose herself. It allowed for a clear point of view of the Commander taking to his tactics from the sidelines, crossing his arms with a smug expression on his face.
  243.
  244. Years of battle... Without magic to boot? Had left him to grow rather resourceful in his evasive endeavors.
  245. Though, Malus wouldn't be afforded the opportunity to charge the Nomont, for the skies twinkled blue. What was it exactly? A closer squint would reveal that the Iron Legion soldiers were preparing one of the newer weapons in their arsenal: Wrist-fired bolts, armed with explosive battery charges. Miniaturized batteries from the first iteration of their armor, weaponized.
  246.
  247. Time seemingly slowed as their suddenly appeared point blank in spades, shining a vibrant azure before erupting in a cannonade of explosive bursts, intent on disorientating the Ent entirely for Vigr's follow-up.
  248.
  249. The team-up would leave them with moments to spare, to plan and prepare.
  250.
  251. "I'll do m--" He was cut off by Vigr's follow-up, likely caught up in the moment.
  252.
  253. "... I'll do what I can." The Iron Legion Commander turned his attention towards where the Ent had bent dispelled, recalling his soldiers to defend his position.
  254.
  255. If she -was- coming back...
  256. She, was likely to come for him first this time around...
  257. And he'd be ready.
  258.
  259. "Bring me my rifle." He ordered to one of his soldiers, taking it to his person for long-ranged assault.
  260. It was time... To hurry up, and wait.
  261.
  262. (Asura Nomont)
  263.
  264. Israfel lulls.
  265. (Israfel)
  266.
  267. Vekel stares at Rudey with olive hues.
  268. (Vekel)
  269.
  270. Vigr's assumption was correct.
  271.
  272. After being overwhelmed by the cogs with their jetboots and tyrium blades, having her roots and vines hewn indiscriminately, and soon being assaulted by airborne ordinance...
  273.
  274. Malus was in fact, already angry.
  275.
  276. Very, angry.
  277.
  278. Yet, that anger seems short lived as the coordinated attack between the Cog's and Vigr sent Malus careening to slam into a nearby mountain to be briefly buried under rubble.
  279.
  280. It gave them moments to prepare for the next wave. Valuable moments indeed, for Vigr predicted Malus' response almost exactly as it came. For soon, the Ent erupts from the rubble as a visage of horrific beauty. Her feminine features now looking rather corpselike, white sap flowing like blood from dozens of rapidly healing wounds. Half her head missing, yet, she seemed none the worse for wear.
  281.
  282. If anything she seemed more ecstatic than ever. Excited, even.
  283.
  284. "Oh YESSSSSSSSSS this is the kind of struggle I've been missing from my life. I can taste the fear in your heart of hearts, and every time I crush a soldier you just send another one to take it's place. It's a buffet of suffering, something I've missed for so, so very long..."
  285.
  286. "GIVE ME MORE!" She'd moan as she launched a barrage of necrophagic insects straight towards Asura, her roots erupting from the ground all around her to begin an assault on his troops once more.
  287.
  288. This was as any fight with Malus was, a battle of attrition. Drawn out and with any number of casualties, and even as she suffered wound after wound, they seemed to close anew.
  289.
  290. And she seemed to enjoy every moment of it.
  291. (Malus Manchineella)
  292.
  293. Vigr Dyr says, "Oh nah."
  294.
  295. {RP BATTLE} Vigr Dyr is ready for battle!
  296.
  297. {RP BATTLE} Asura Nomont is ready for battle!

  318.
  319. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: 1)
  320.
  321. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  322.
  323. Vigr Dyr’s performance isn’t over!
  324.
  325. Malus Manchineella has sustained a grevious injury in battle...
  326.
  327. Malus Manchineella has rolled 2 or over: they may escape capture attempts (unless otherwise specified)!
  328.
  329. Vekel picks up Sinka.
  330.
  331. He was the target, which meant they would fight much more viciously. The numbers took to the skies to pelt upon them much more vigorously, demanding the attention of their tendrils of foliage.
  332.
  333. They were much stronger than their Magus Defense Force counterparts... And any of those that roamed the lands before Asura took to Achyon for refuge. As they blitzed to and fro past Malus, their extended blades chipped and shaved at her image. Though, it was all superficial...
  334. All an effort to leave her slowed and open to Vigr's endeavors.
  335.
  336. Though, opportunity struck...
  337. In time, Asura himself would charge into the fray...
  338.
  339. Defiant against the dangers that lied in taking on a monster such as this. He knew that the odds of him having any grand effect was slim to none. The closer he got, the stronger the influence of the toxic fumes catching at his lungs.
  340.
  341. He winced...
  342. His eyes watered...
  343. He coughed...
  344. Yet, he dared not slow...
  345.
  346. Even in his age, he fought to sustain himself, all the way to her. She'd manage to throw his men off of her, leaving them intwined in a moment of eyelock.
  347.
  348. To Asura, the moment seemed to last an eternity...
  349. As for once, he dared to face off against a magus threat... And through his commands and orders -- even if enabled by another magi? He could finally bring manifest to his ire...
  350.
  351. "I've feared you monsters... Long enough." He hissed through his breath, if only intended for himself.
  352. "Today... I bring upon the dawn of -my- vision... My age... And you'll be the -first-."
  353.
  354. He kicked off from the ground with his right tyrium arm reared back. His teeth barred towards Malus, and while he was nowhere near her height? It didn't matter -- He swung his fist forth, and the violent cackle of alabaster sparked from his appendage.
  355.
  356. "I'll have your casting... RIPPED AWAY!"
  357.
  358. It connected, immediately piercing into the Ent's body with invasive tendrils of alabaster of... Asura's conjuring? What exactly... Was it?
  359. Malus could feel it... The hungering tyrium material ravenously siphoning at her circuit, but...
  360. That wasn't all it was doing...
  361. No, it acted on Asura's behalf... As though they were... Bonded?
  362.
  363. It tickled at the surface, scouring up her side and soon evolving into a paralyzing gattle from the inside. The many of the Iron Legion sought to hold her still, allowing the act to play out to its fullest... Or so, Asura would hope.
  364.
  365.
  366. "HOW DOES IT FEEL TO HAVE ALL OF THAT POWER RIPPED AWAY FROM YOU! TO ATTONE FOR YOUR WR--"
  367.
  368. Despite, his attempted monologue, his men were being ruthlessly toiled away, and he was no exception... For the tendrils abroad soon cooed for him as well. The toxic fumes were pinching away at his lungs, and left him to fall limp prematurely.
  369.
  370. It was inevitable that he'd be swatted away, leaving him incapacitated, and the Iron Legion to retreat to protect his fallen form. At least... He'd succeed in -something-...
  371. He had distracted her!
  372.
  373. And when she was obstructed? Got his hand on her...
  374. For once, the power of the antimagus material could be felt firsthand, by him and Malus alike. For the second time in his life, he could feel unbelievable power surge through it... Even if hardly controlled. He groaned on the sands, feeling the shadow of the Ent crawl for him...
  375.
  376. Perhaps, his fate was sealed?
  377.
  378. "W-.. Heh... Well... I did my best, Vanirhallan."
  379. He panted tiredly, his men preparing themselves for what seemed to be a last stand.
  380.
  381. "If you aren't done yet..." He looked on with his only eye, reflecting the encroaching Ent in his gander with a pained acceptance.
  382.
  383. "Then, I suppose..."
  384. This, might just be it.
  385. (Asura Nomont)
  386.
  387. Asura was the target, which let Vigr fight unrestricted.
  388.
  389. Malus would find the majority of her damage coming from the constant waves of sound, along with the explosive barrages of cosmic magic slamming into her with surprising accuracy. Wherever the Iron Legion wasn't present, Vigr lit up with attacks.
  390.
  391. The mix of him blitzing around the area, causing a miniature sandstorm out of pure speed, and blasting her was taxing. In fact, it was probably more taxing than if he had fought her by himself since he was worrying about keeping his allies safe.
  392.
  393. Then he ascended to the skies, a ball of golden light surrounding him as he prepared for his final attack, pulling in more and more power from his star until he was ready to burst.
  394.
  395. Asura and his army were down there fighting for their lives, and he wouldn't let it be in vain.
  396.
  397. More energy.
  398.
  399. More power.
  400.
  401. He needed this to be perfect.
  402.
  403. The moment he thought that way, everything went wrong. That golden light around him grew more dull, tainted by the energy from the dark cosmic that had wounded him years prior. The mark on his chest glowed, enhancing his attacks.
  404.
  405.
  406. 'I'll destroy it all...'
  407.
  408.
  409. That's what he said, right? About the Shadowmire? About Asphodel? It seemed it was time to follow through with this by exterminating the Ent. All of this was for Frekr. That's how he could justify this.
  410.
  411. A single tear fell, carrying with it the remnants of his humanity as he began to descend.
  412.
  413. From the battleground, a massive, golden, sphere of tainted cosmic energy seemed to be falling from the sky, breaching open the clouds and barreling towards the desert at phenomenal speeds. It looked like the end of times. Surely, this attack would destroy everything.
  414.
  415. In it, carried the power to wipe out this section of the desert, just like he did to the island of marauders that killed his parents. Though, he didn't want to repeat those mistakes, right?
  416.
  417. The cycle of hatred had to end, that's what Cedar and Sibyl constantly told him.
  418.
  419. Snapped out of his daze by these thoughts, Vigr's energies returned to normal and that massive, distorted, sphere turned into a thinner beam of cosmic that smashed down into Malus, exploding on contact and sending a tremor throughout the area, picking up sand and forming a large mushroom cloud.
  420.
  421. It wasn't enough to kill her.
  422.
  423. In fact, the force probably sent her flying, barely alive at that. She'd have time to escape, and to recover. Using the sand and dust as cover could help her, seeing as Vigr believed the Ent to be dead.
  424.
  425. After all, who could survive an attack like that?
  426.
  427. Thanks to him returning to his senses, Asura and his army was barely spared, the explosion missing them by several feet. If they were any closer, they'd have been vaporized.
  428. (Vigr Dyr)
  429.
  430. Malus pushed towards Asura unrelentingly, slapping aside dozens of the Iron Legion as she attempted to get closer to their commander. But it was all for naught, as the soldiers selflessly held her back and left her open for that destructive Tyrium augmentic to deal a devastating blow.
  431.
  432. She could feel her mana being ripped from her body only to be pushed back, searing her mana-circuits and leaving them utterly fried. A cry of agony erupts from the Ent, the sensation one severe enough to overwhelm her sadomasochistic ecstacy and bring her anger back to the forefront.
  433.
  434. "How DARE you!" She'd cry out before her roots erupted to pierce Asura through - or try to - only to be intercepted by the Iron Legion so that Asura could be thrown back by one mighty blow instead of a dozen.
  435.
  436. Yet those legions were soon dispensed, and Malus stalks closer to Asura, preparing to deliver the final blow...
  437.
  438. Only, Vigr was hard at work. A golden sandstorm that had been harassing her throughout the fight. In her anger, she'd lost track of him as he leapt up into the sky.
  439.
  440. That? That was her real downfall.
  441.
  442. For she was so focused on Asura she'd failed to erect defenses against Vigr's, the Spear of Aesirheim.
  443.
  444. And so he came crashing down like a living comet, sending a mushroom cloud erupting on impact as the earth trembled. The sands were turned to glass from the heat of the impact, and Malus' decimated form was blasted away - no doubt soon to return to the Mire.
  445.
  446. For now, both her and Asura would live. But after this defeat?
  447.
  448. Malus would find him again. And next time? He might not have Vigr around.
  449. (Malus Manchineella)
  450. He didn't quite fully understand what happened that saved his life...
  451. But it turned out, Vigr was indeed finished. For all of his struggle and strife? It finally paid off.
  452.
  453. Perhaps, this was some sort of means for Fate to depict to him, that his vision was not far-fetched. That the power of nonmagi was not a joke nor a lackadaisical dream.
  454.
  455. It could be reached.
  456. It could be attained.
  457.
  458. He lied on the ground, unmoving... Coughing up some bit due to agitated lungs, but otherwise? He was alive. How great it was to be alive.
  459.
  460. "Well... I admit... I wasn't expecting all of that." He admitted, still lying on the ground. The groans of some of his men rising back up sounded off, but otherwise? The Iron Legion did what they were trained to do, suffering many injuries in the effort.
  461.
  462. "However, you were pretty good out there." The man offered a pained chortle, as Iron Legion soldiers lowered themselves to his fallen body to pry him up by his shoulders.
  463.
  464. "I'm... Going to head somewhere safe and... Get medical attention." He claimed with a nod. "You should too..." A moment's pause to breathe, "Vigr." It took time to remember, but in time he did.
  465. Nothing like a fight for one's life to truly invoke memory... Right?
  466.
  467. (Asura Nomont)
