  1. The Departure
  2.
  3. It's been 6 months now and Kyo has been pratically struggling with ice magic. Never actually being able to summon anything as grand as he could with wind or water magic. It kind of disappointing really. The only magic he learned that not alot of people, including the talented Millia didn't, was the one magic he couldn't really control himself. First of all. If he ever tried to actually summon it out of the atmosphere. It took alot of juice out of him nowadays and left him rather exhausted to the point where he'd pass out if he didn't harvest something that could replenish his energy.
  4.
  5. So what did Kyo plan to do. He planned to go up to the Orphanage and read that Book of Ice. That way he'd actually have an idea of how he could be able to maintain ice and use it to his will. Or atleast conjure up some ice without having to ko right afterwards. So that's what he did. Moving from the market place. Kyo went straight for the Orphanage. Opening the front doors and like the many other times, he went straight towards the book shelf and started to scan the shelves. It didn't take long. But eventually. He found the Book of Ice. There he reached upwards to pluck it from the shelf and lowered himself to the ground with the book in hand.
  6.
  7. Putting his back against the bookshelf. Kyo used it as support as he flipped open the book and started to read. Once again, he was embraced with the chilly winds as he began to read.

  9. Ice
  10.
  11. "Read this book...... Recommend mastery of air and water....... seek a teacher.... Be careful... Hmm.. Whats this about." Kyo started to skim through the book but once the warning popped into view. He suddenlt got interested as he leaned in a little bit more so he could focus a little bit more.
  12.
  13. "The cold can become a double-edged blade if your body hasn't become in tune or synchronized with freezing temperatures. Thus I recommened starting by meditating in the Northern regions known as Frostvale. Depending whether or not you're a Valmasian." he continued to read out loud.
  14.
  15. Smiling as he thought. This was the perfect reason for him to actually go to the very place where his kind used to flourish. Closing the book, he knew exactly what he needed to do. First off. He had to 'borrow' it. The second thing he needed to do is to travel to Frostvale. There he could train and achieve mastery over this element. Which made him also think of another idea.
  16.
  17. Scanning the bookshelves once more. It took him some time. But he found the book. The book about Drakanite's Physiology. Plucking it from the shelf. He reached back and put the two books in his bag. It was only then that he turned on his heels and walked straight out the door. He was going to do this. He was going to Frostvale....
  18. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  19. Travel!
  20.
  21. After leaving from the Orphanage. Kyo went to the Market to gather some gear for the chilling winds of Frostvale/Dragon's Peak. But that wasn't all. Kyo made sure to buy snacks for along the way. He was sure that he was bound to get hungry, and after that. He left. Sure he would send a letter for Millia. But now, he had to go. He couldn't waste any more time. Quickly, he made his way towards the front of the city. Reaching the front gates and steeping through as if he was entering the world for the first time. Beyond all else. He felt super excited. But a little fearful aswell for the unknown.
  22.
  23. Walking straight up the the Black Gate. He tried to walk under the under pass. But stopped by the guards as they stated that he was a kid and he didn't have the means to actually travel the Desert. Saying that it was a dangerous thing for a boy such as his age to actually travel out into the desert alone. But that didn't stop Kyo. He was determined, and with that. Kyo did head back towards Nostvale like they ordered as they asked him where he was from. But the second Kyo lost eyesight from the guards at the Black Gate. He ran alongside the walls of Nostvale and headed over towards the water. There he didn't even skip a beat as he leaped towards the water. Putting both feet out infront of him as he landed on the surface of the ocean. Causing the water beneath his feet to break for only a second as his legs dipped into the water halfway before he willed the water around him to force him up back towards the surface.
  24.
  25. In a small crouch. Kyo seperated his footing slightly so he could get a better balance as he urged the water to shoot him forwards. Basically riding the water. Kyo smiled with glee as he saw the pratice that he went through pay off. " Guards say that the Desert is too dangerous? Fine! I'll just take this route instead!" he exclaimed as he kept going on at it. Looking to his left, he saw the wall of the Desert. That, he would use to guide his path as he closed into it after a while since the sun was bound to bother him soon or later.

  27. Checkpoint
  28.
  29. Each and every other day. Kyo found that he had to force himself to walk ontop of the borders of the Sarab. The mere usage of glidding across the water was pretty difficult after a while and traveling after weeks after. It was pratically impossible to keep on going. So... The travel wasn't as grand as he thought it to be at first. But as of now. It was hell. The hot days. The chilly nights. It drove Kyo to know more of himself with each passing day. He was always byhimself. Only seeing bandits once and a while who would even attempt and scale the wall even to try to get to him. Which forced Kyo to jump off the border once more to hit the water once more so he would avoid a direct confrontation. They always cursed and yelled at him as they threw weapons and shot arrows in his direction. So he knew that they weren't any good from the start. It sucked even more if he was drained from using up all his mana to keep on going. But he had to push himself that extra mile to make sure that he would get away from most of the relentless bandits. It truly did suck.
  30.
  31. It was a true struggle.
  32.
  33. But now, Kyo had made some progress and up ahead. For some reason. He saw a piece of land coming outwards and forming out to the right. What the heck? With his strength regained. He took it upon himself to hit the waters and dash out forwards. It took him some time as he relished the time of not being chased and the cooling feeling of the water. But the sun tended to get on his nerves some times with the constant heat on his body. He knew that once he reached Frostvale. He had to lay down within the snow for a couple of hours. Because this was going to give him a mean ass sun burn.
  34.
  35. As he closed in more in more. He realized that the land that shot outwards to the right was actually a small island that had people on it. Maybe a minuture city. Wow! He didn't know about this. How strange..... Smiling. Kyo made it his goal to reach the place. But he then saw hour there was guards standing post on the borders and even the edges where the water resided. But he didn't think much of it. But the closer and closer he got. He saw that alot of bodies with armor started to move around and form where he was, and that was majority of the bodies on the island as the others ran towards the houses further right.
  36.
  37. 'Crap...' Kyo thought as he kept on closing in. He then thought about how he would react if someone came up upon their city in such a way. An unknown being. Just coming out of no where. Speeding towards their place..."Yeah... I done goofed...." he said to himself as he upped his speed. He needed to vault his way towards the land and shoot himself up high enough to avoid being attacked or harmed. He knew that there had to be more water across the place as he came in close. He just had to shoot himself high enough to make it there. It was totally doable. Right?
  38. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  39. Escape!
  40.
  41. As Kyo came in full speed as he poured out all his mana to maintain his rapid movement across the water and even increasing it. Water whipped all around. Flying up towards the air and raising up to eleveated heights. Kyo had to make this happen. If he was stopped. He wasn't sure what would happen. This place was infact ruled by that creature in Lorthanis right? He totally couldn't get captured. Not now. Not when his adventure had just begun.
  42.
  43. Heading straight for the wall. He prepared himself to shoot himself up from the water and over the land to later land back on the water on the other side. But there was a problem. As Kyo kept going straight forwards. He saw the forms in the distance move around in place. Which made him question exactly what they were doing. But he had no time to questino it. He had to move faster. He had to go as fast as he can! But as Kyo had reached within a miles reach of the island. Something flashed before his eyes. Unknowing to what it was Kyo kept at it. But it was only a second later as his entire body jerked towards the right backwards. Shocked beyond all else. His eyes opened wide in shock as he was left clueless as to what had happened.
  44.
  45. Frightened as his body flew backwards in immeanse pain as if everything seemed to be in slow motion. Slowly, his head turned to his right as his entire body tensed up to the pain. An arrow. A bolt. Had somehow found its way straight through his shoulder blade. Blazing right through as blood shot out and drenched his jacket. Horrified now. Kyo slowly turned his head back towards the island infront of him as he saw a volley of them heading towards him now. Just one bolt. He couldn't see. But with what seemed to be more than a hundred. It was purely visable. Shocked beyond all odds. Time went back to normal as the adneraline in his body pumped throughout his body. Giving him the imagination as if time had actually slowed down when it hadn't.
  46.
  47. BOOM!
  48.
  49. Kyo's body hit the water hard from the previvous blow to his shoulder as he basically skidded across the water as if he was a skipping stone. In immeanse pain. It was about 5 skips of him pouncing up and down from the water before his body finally slowly kept on moving forward ontop of the water slightly before submerging into the depths.
  50.
  51. Coughing out blood. He winced at the hole now within his shoulder. The arrow had went clean through as it wasn't sticking out of his shoulder. But there was something else. Another arrow had found its way in his side. Pain pulsated throughout his body as he coughed up more blood as his body slowly kept on falling towards the depths of the ocean. Slowly. Making it feel as it was never ending.
  52.
  53. It was then that he choked on his breath as he swallowed in water. Making him panic as he quickly formed an air bubble from underwater and forced the water in his lungs outside. Spitting it out and allowing it to fall into the water surrounding him. Now there was another problem. He was in a coughing fit. Basically choking all over himself as he kept on coughing non-stop for about a good minute. His enitre body was sore as he remained motionless underwater. What was he thinking. Did he really think that they would really wait until he got there before attacking. What an idiot.... Only if Millia was here. She would have an idea.
  54.
  55. Slowly. He focused the water to his wounds. Slowly healing and sealing up the hole within his shoulder. For the arrow sticking out of his back. It took him a while for him to reach backwards and pluck it out as he screamed out in pain. Breaking concentration and resubmerging himself into the water. Quickly choking on water once again before making up another air bubble. It was a repeat process really as he spat out water once more and returned to a hellish coughing fit. He then applied a bit of healing to his other wound to close up the hole and stop the bleeding.
  56.
  57. It took him a couple of minutes to get his barings and him trying to brainstorm a new plan. Since they were going to attack him with arrows. He needed to find a way to go around them. Which was either him going around. Or going over into the unknown and dangerous desert. Both are risky options which would take more time than anything else. But maybe just maybe. He could figure something out.
  58.
  59. Sprialing the water around himself he noticed that blood had begun to surround him. His own blood that is. He just hoped that there wasn't any sharks around. Which made him begin to wonder. What exactly did they really look like? He just heard that those things were bad news. Hoping his blood wouldn't attract anything that would trouble him anymore.
  60.
  61. Well. Now. They probably think that he's dead. If anything. Hopefully. So maybe he could go forth and continue pushing himself. But it was at that moment at Kyo had started to feel weak. Like woozy even. Frowning. He just realized that he burned up too much mana already. He even felt himself having to close up his air bubble even more. Not giving him a decent size of a bubble to breath anymore. Now it was just a tight air bubble. Just enough to fit his head. So any plans of swimming around with the bubble wasn't going to work. He needed to get up to the surface to regain his strength.
  62.
  63. Cursing himself. He wished he woulda just waited for Millia and tried to see if she would've came along with him. If she was here. He was sure that he wouldn't be in this situation. But now, he couldn't go back. He had to finish his goal. Or else he would die......
  64.
  65. With the last bit of mana reservations he had left. He pushed himself towards the wall before leaving the safety of the water. Which wasn't long as he came face to face with it and even touched the wall for good measure that he wasn't halusinating. Then, he shot himself out of the water and up towards the height of the border of the Desert. It was then that he realized that he wasn't going to make it all the way as he simply didn't put enough power into his launch. Causing him to fall short of the edge of the top as he reached out and clutched at side of the wall. Rooting his fingers into the wall as he tried to keep himself there. But his entire body was wet. Drenched as his fingers quickly lost grip. Falling back towards the water. But as he saw it. He needed to do something to prevent this fall from happening. Because he had done a belly flop in a small lake before. Knowing how much that hurt. He didn't want to go through that again. Weakly reaching out. He caused a small indent within the water as he crashing into it. Softening his landing as his body was pratically exhausted of mana. Only if he had his wings. He could've just flown over.......
  66.
  67. Using the strength he had left. He swam to the surface and went to the wall. Taking out his knife from his pocket and reaching upwards as he broke through the water. He stabbed it into the wall diagonally. He then wrapped one arm around it and using his free hand. He grabbed his shoulder as he shuddered. It was crazy. Frowning. He breathed heavily as he stared up to the island. The mass of bodies disappeared. Yet instead. He heard alot of commotion faintly up ahead. 'Were they walking across the border to get him?' he thought frightingly as he looked up at the border tired.
  68.
  69. He had to use this time to rest himself and recover as much mana as possible. Then when he was ready. He was going to let himself go and try to his last attempt once more before giving up. Without the mass of bodies and arrows blocking him like before. He totally had a better chance now.
  70. (Kyo Kamikaze)
  71. It was time.
  72.
  73. Feeling like he was pratically up to par. He heard commotion above him more louder than before. Even the shadows of the people above started to come into view as they walked across the walls. It was then that Kyo knew it was time. Taking his knife from the wall. He pocketed his knife and dropped himself into the water. Launching himself forwards in a spiral as he laid his body horizontal as he put his hands by his side and shot himself forward within the water like a speeding bullet. Using the water to push him forwards. Kyo felt he was making ground. But it seemed like his plan wasn't following anyone as an arrow found itself piercing the water right before his face and sinking into the ground. He then knew that he should've went lower into the water. It was seconds later that hef forced the water to put him above the water. Now standing up as he was now in a crouch as one leg was infront of the other. Both hands infront of him as he now conjured up a bit of a water wall spiraling around his hands to prevent any type of arrows to louge themselves into his body. But that didn't stop the arrows from raining down at his side. Which forced him to break up his shield from infront of himself and raise one hand towards the wall.
  74.
  75. But it didn't help as one arrow found itself piercing his water shield and launching itself into his palm. Wincing at the pain. Kyo struggled onwards. Shouts and commands were given infront of him as more arrows rained down upon him but it didn't take long for him to out glide the ones that came from the wall as he was passing them. But even though that happened. A few arrows still managed to come at him. A few grazing his clothes as one even nicked his cheek. Which pushed him to further himself as he was pratically now at the wall. Guards now regioned at the wall and alot of them had arrows. More than before he thought. It was then with one motion. All arrows were brought to attention as the entire wave was released as he raised the water carrying him upwards to bring up upon land.
  76.
  77. Looking at him and the way. He knew he didn't have enough time to actually dive back into the water for safety. If anything. The momentum of his speed would carry him upwards anyway. So that plan failed. Kyo then brought it to attention that he wasn't going to stop at anything. The arrows started to close in as he got closer to them. At a last ditch effort. He brought both hands together. Then forming a bigger type of shield made out of water. Kyo had to try it once more. He had to attempt making an ice shield. But just as he focused on it as hard as possible. The area around his hands started to freeze up. Affecting the water shield itself. But it was that it didn't work fast enough. Only a small circumference of the shield had solidified into a shield. The rest. Was just water. Arrows soon piereced the outer rim of the shield. Poking holes through the outer part of the shield and destroying the water part. Arrows tore into the sides of his legs and even causing the water to break and shoot up upwards, higher than he planned. But he still kept the ice shield up. But even that didn't protect him as arrows piereced his ice shield but stayed within it as the heads of each arrows came out dangerously close to his face. Each second was crucial. But it didn't take long for a few arrows to riddle his body with heavy impacts. Causing him to spit out blood and weaken him severely. As much as he struggled to keep up his shield. It broke. Causing him to fly limply through the air as he had used up all his strength of taking up the full frontal of the attack. The pain that went through his body had became numb as he fumbled throughout the air and sailed through the sky before hitting the edge of the ground in bloody pain before falling over the other side of the ledge and hitting the water below. Aching. Kyo had only one goal, and that was to get to Frostvale.
  78.
  79. Using whatever was left. Kyo clutched to his body as he slowly emerged from the water and used the waves to guide him northward. Bringing him to a woodlandly area with a lot of trees. Which he assumed to be apart of a forest as he pushed himself to surface and later lying on his back. Arrows stuck in him. He didn't know what to do. Only that he needed to lay there for a while. Lay there until he regained himself
