  1. I don't think the first few pick-bans are really to be put on anybody's shoulders.
  2. Because you have to, in my opinion, build up a certain rapport with your players
  3. as a coach. Meaning you need to trust them when they feel like they want to carry
  4. in a certain way or when they believe the team can play a certain style etc etc.
  5. Especially when we don't have a nailed down style.
  6.
  7. So when a player is like "pick me this champ here" or "I really trust myself and I believe in
  8. it and I know that I can get an advantage in this particular lane and carry the game" then as
  9. a coach your job is not to be like "No. Shut up and listen to me. We're gonna play this other
  10. champ that you don't want to play" your job is to build rapport with your players, trust them at
  11. first and see how far they can take that, right? To see if you really have somebody that can
  12. step up and fill that role on your team.
  13.
  14. And, so, that's like what you should give to a coach and their players the first couple of times
  15. that it happens to let them push that envelope or else you never end up with a team like C9
  16. where the coach let's them like try stuff until it breaks and then reigns them in.
  17.
  18. I'm really proud of SSONG because that's his leadership style as a coach and he is
  19. able and willing to let players be brave when it's the right time and he's willing to
  20. dial it back really fast and really proactively when they've shown that they
  21. just can't work right now.
  22.
  23.

  25.
  26. It's frustrating to go 0-2 after what is literally our best week of training thus far.
  27. Where everybody was quite confident that we had superceded our issues.
  28. Except, of course, me and SSONG. Cus, we could still see the cracks and see things
  29. the team is weak at, but it's not something you go to the team and say like,
  30. before they go on stage "Hey, don't forget you suck at this thing. So when you get on
  31. stage and you're in this state don't expect to win that situation, because you guys suck at it
  32. as a team." You don't tell your team that before they go on stage, you know?
  33. You kinda, like, work on it throughout the week and then you go on stage and like
  34. "Let's play towards our win condition."
