Verit - Aligned Races

Ambits are tall and lean, with skintones ranging from pink to a pale red. Their hair is usually thick and lustrous, and often curly, usually in bold shades of brown, blond, or black. A pair of horns grows from their temples. In females, the horns curve backwards only slightly, protruding upwards by up to six inches. In males, the horns curve back significantly, to the point of following the curve of the skull, sometimes reaching all the way to the back of the head. Horns vary in shade from light brown, to ivory, to yellowish.
Ambits are born with a black aura and rarely ever lose it, regardless of alignment.

Abnegates are short and slight, with skintones ranging from chalky white to pale green. Their skin appears thin, and can sometimes be translucent, making the yellow-green blood below visible. They are universally hairless, though those that live among other races may take to painting or tattooing their scalps for decoration. They have a pair of antennae growing from the top of their forehead, and their placement, though consistently symmetrical, varies. These antennae start as small nubs and can grow to a full length of up to six inches by adolescence.

Hierarchs are broad and stocky, with skintones of grey and brown, sometimes dappling between the two. Small ridges of bone can protrude from areas surrounding the joints, and almost all members of the species bare a number of ridges reaching back from the forehead. These ridges can vary greatly in size and pattern, and remain from birth to death.

Liberates are wiry and small, with skintones in various tones of ochre, orange, and earthy brown. Some liberates are also capable of growing shaggy fur around their extremities, in the same brown and grey tones as their hair. In childhood, liberates grow their first set of antlers, protruding from their temples. These begin small and grow until adolescence, when they shed for the first time. Afterwards, a fresh pair is grown and shed annually, with the exact pattern of the antlers usually changing with each pair.
