  1. The battle was brief but intense. As soon as Taiga gets between Isaac and his target, the man strikes forward again; his other hand jolts out in a sudden shift as the weight switches from one boot to the other, from one hand another as his boot slams to the cobblestone path. With a strong staure, a burst of violent flame roars out, twisting directly toward Taiga.
  2.
  3. The swordsman does well to avoid the initial hit of flame and heat, and in the smoke a trio of bloodstones appear and chase him relenlessly. His body flickers forward as the edge of his blade swerved toward the demi-angel and they clash, meeting on the patio, "Oh...?"
  4.
  5. "How noble of you."
  6.
  7. The remnants of chaos magic still lingered in the air - the sudden pulse of twisted energies that disort and twist. The man glances to Dogslayer as he takes flight, a thousand black feathers joininghis wings.
  8.
  9. A chaos mage.
  10. An Azraelite.
  11.
  12. Why?
  13.
  14. His hand flickers back and the crystals swerve towards him, cutting right through Taiga's shoulder; it leaves his arm dangling by a thread, blood spilling out. Isaac frowns at the sight, his eyes falling half-lidded and the red in them darkening.
  15.
  16. About ten seconds had passed, but now his path was clear ahead. Rather than pursue further however, he floats down to the touch the stone, "So, Calael. Are you going to explain to Thera why there is a chaos mage here, or shall I...?" Clearly there's no apprehsion in his tone despite the maiming, "Seize him. Now."
  17. (Isaac Shimasu)
  18.
  19.
  20.
  21. It's a split second to react.
  22.
  23. Taiga's intent is to defend. It's in his blood, by now, buried in by years of training and thousands of hours of dedication to the art of one singular task. Defending an important target. Such was the way of the samurai, no? That blade of his moved in defense of another - in this case, Taiga had weighed it in his head, and found Isaac to be the worse evil than Dogslayer. Stupid. Emotional. But a judgement he stood by and backed with his blade.
  24.
  25. Sparks fly, Taiga's hand moving to create some form of defense by way of weaving to life the runes of his Wayfinding magics. Iaido strikes don't suit a blade of his stature. His method of defending Dogslayer wasn't suited for creating portals and warping through them - so as he moves to defend, as he tries desperately to match those strikes, he's just a step too slow.
  26.
  27. His portal comes a moment too late, his right hand dazzling through the air in an attempt to weave -- but it's too slow.
  28.
  29. Before he knows it, he's lost feeling in that arm. A sudden barrage of crystal bite through the flesh, blood spraying in the air. The tendons in his bicep literally lurch out from underneath the skin, breaking it as it stretches out to knit with the torn muscle, desperately trying to wrap around the bone. He's blown back by the sudden injury, his blade dropping. Another crystal hits, snapping --
  30.
  31. Taiga grits his teeth, flying backwards in a bloody mess.
  32.
  33. A hand clutches against the wound, Taiga left too stunned and wounded to do much more than kneel there and try to focus on stitching back together what he could. He's shaking. Every fiber in his body frenzies at once, the sight of his own blood - the intense battle with Isaac. He's seething. The beast inside of him demands blood. The claws on his hand only served to further exacerbate the problem at this point.
  34. (Taiga Rowan)
