- Dakal'ein
- Dakal'ein was originally born into a small establishment. A beautiful tree, with a bark made from Antimony, lustrous silvery, and leaves of various gem-like colors that turned to dust in the fall. The tree was known in common by the name "The Ithmid Cypress". At that time it was only a sampling, from which he protected by playing tricks and setting traps from any who might try to cut it. Eventually the tree was seen as a sort of charm of the town, renaming itself to Ithmid. Over the years the town grew, and grew, the nature around it being slowly cut away, until cut off by a stone wall. The center of the town this whole time was the Cypress which has grown all this time.
- Being both revered, and somewhat feared in superstition, the tree remained untouched by the towns-folk. This left the Nymph very bored over the years, and since the town had overtaken her grove, stunted in growth. So still as a young Nymph she wanted to explore. Seeing the elven children in the streets, she took a knife and cut, or rather clipped, her ears and took a cloak over herself to hide among the crowds.
- She tried to learn what goods the people had, but she soon learned that thievery is a crime, one with stiff punishments. Escaping having her fingers lopped off, she escaped off with her powers of suggestion. Being rather used to trickery and such, she took to thievery to get what she desired. At first her powers as a Nymph were enough, but the thrill of stealing, the thrill of sneaking, and soon being outspoken, deceiving, convincing, and disguising herself further to pass among these strange beings amused her.
- Eventually, a small ganged formed in towns, as they sometimes do. A crooked dwarf by the name of "Red Scarred Heiysal" founded it, basing himself just outside of town in a hidden cave under a waterfall, however cliche that was. They mostly smuggled illegal goods across the town, being of low suspicion from the town's small size, and being an area useful to trade it around. Their goals grew with the city. Hearing rumors of a need for hired help, and a boredom of petty crimes, Dakal'ein offered her services in the dark. With the blessings of a Nymph, the local government conceded much of its power to the crimelords, becoming a way of life. She even was given her first true name, Dakal'ein, or the City One in Dwarven.
- Finding a fascination in music, Dakal'ein trained as a sort of bard, being taught by a few of the more talented thieves within the gang. However, a disturbance eventually took to the Nymph, a weakening, an ache in her stomach came. Though she thought none of it until she found one of the crates of goods wasn't what she had believed. It was filled with bark and leaves, preserved, from the tree and sold elsewhere as alchemical supplies. Though they lost their magic away from the tree, they still fetched a high price from unknowing alchemists and for its rarity. The town had stopped guarding the tree by tradition, crime taking over. Enraged, Dakal'ein made a deal with the now Baron of the town. For a sizable amount of gold, continued protection of the tree she would kill the Dwarven Crook and leave town. With blood still on her hands, she began to wander the world, doing as she pleased.
- TL;DR: Dakal'ein was born in a small town as a young Nymph protecting the Tree. The tree was revered by the people, so she mostly played tricks on the townsfolks rather than shew them away, letting them grow their town. As the town grew, so did crime, taking to it out of boredom. Over the years the gang she joined betrayed her, so she betrayed the gang to get what she needed to leave and explore rather than her duty over nature, being lost many moons ago.
