  9. He was not tempted by the world, and nor was he turned away by what mortals have fabricated;
  11. Rather, he answered to a call for jihad, and he went on, in the eyelids of the night journey.
  13. The path of harshness was his love; he was not enthralled by love for slumber.

  15. He spurned the softness of his bed, so he could lie resting upon the soil tomorrow.
  17. Sleeping on a rock, as if a pillow, causing weariness; solidly enduring, firm in patience.
  19. The pleasures of lust entice him, yet he refuses to retreat.
  21. And they are embellished in his face, so his defiance to them [pleasures] increases;
  23. A lover of the heavens and its maidens, and he glances toward them, so he rises up.
  25. And he sees martyrdom as his wish, and death is the happiest of all that he sees,
  27. He plunged into wars with ambition; leaping, and uttering "Allahu Akbar".
  29. How many had changed because of his raid, a night in which the enemies burned.
  31. Accustomed to the trenches, in his frontline he dwells, taking captive whoever does harm.
  33. Exuberant in his resolve, he did not turn to look behind him for a day.
  35. He did not taste the food of humiliation, no! Like an eagle at the heights of the peaks.
  37. Wrapped up with his weapon, while resolve gushes from him,
  39. He dives into difficulties and their horror, unafraid of disbelief or harm.
  41. O, perhaps there would be a night, in which he would not taste the comfort of slumber!
  43. Is he to sleep in his comfort, while disbelief faces off in hatred?
  45. His enemies mobilized against him, while his certainty was steel-solid, laid bare.
  47. His days grew tight with him, and the heart rejoiced from it.
  49. His legs groaned to him, and cried to him tearfully,
  51. And his limbs complained to him, enough of the pain and endurance!
  53. And so he replied to them, solid like a boulder: I have sold, and God purchased!
