  1. The granite building loomed ahead of frisk, at least 10 stories high, casting a shadow on the golden flower paved pathway, mirrored windows reflecting the rising sun. A rotating door with gilded handlebars and a smooth sheen marble floor beyond it stood between Frisk and the embassy foyer. Just above the doorway was a small golden plaque. It read - 'Monster sovereign nation embassy'. Not the snazziest name but it was short and to the point, thought Frisk. He could always try and rustle up another name with Asgore but his naming habits hadn't improved since he founded the underground. Just the thought of having another session banding back and forth ideas with him made Frisk's head throb. The hustle and bustle of daily work wasn't started yet, Frisk liked to make sure he was the first in work. He'd never managed it yet. Smiling he entered the spinning doors, taking an extra go around just for the hell of it. Today was going to be a good day.
  2.
  3. Marble flooring shone with a freshly buffed sheen making Frisk's shoes squeak as he walked towards the stairway in the centre of the buildings foyer, also lined with marble and gilded handrails. The main reception desk stood lonely and unmanned, a mahogany finished desk that stretched along the right side of the room with a few computer screens behind it. Just opposite were some comfortable looking sofa's. Faux leather lined up in a neat row with tables and magazines neatly piled alongside. Above them was a mural depicting the first meeting of man and monster after the exodus from the underground. Frisk always thought it to be a bit gaudy but his brother had liked it. Anything not to upset him. Besides, It made other people smile too. Especially the artist who had been commissioned to do it. Even though everyone's heads weren't in the picture you could still tell who was who.
  4.
  5. Frisk's office was on the top floor, levels 1-9 were mostly administrative offices and logistics to do with settling monsters into the world and integration as a whole. Bright carpets and noisy walls followed frisk down the corridor to the next set of stairs. Sure, there was a lift he could take but Frisk preferred a long walk throughout the building, taking it all in each day before beginning. More pictures from other artists lined the walls. Some a simple portrait of monsters who had let an artist take some references, other depicting momentous moments of Monster history. Turning the corner, Frisk yelped as he ran into a wall of papers, scattering them everywhere in a flurry of fluttering cacophonous litany. "Oh, oh my gosh I'm so sorry, are you ok?!" Standing in front of Frisk covered in loose bits of papers was his secretary, a floating anthropomorphic Boeing 747 with a tiny little ribbon tied or.. more like stuck on just above the front window screen.
  6.
  7. "Oh.. it's just you, sir. Hmph! Look where you're going next time!" Frisk grinned and sidled up close to his secretary as she somehow picked up the bits of paper with her malleable wings, still hovering. "G- Get away from me, sir!" Dropping her bundle, she backed off, blushing heavily, sweat glistening from her.. pores? Frisk wasn't quite sure on the logistics of her anatomy, but he tried not to question it. "This wouldn't happen to be the paper work for today's meeting, would they?" Frisk stared at the small print covering the voluminous amount of paperwork, trying to make it out. "Wouldn't you like to know!" huffed the Floating aeroplane monster. "Well, yes, that is why i-" "BAKA" yelled the plane. "Go to your office, sir! I'm too busy to deal with your.. antics!" Frisk knew where he wasn't wanted. Ok, Tsu, I'll head upstairs... but before i go-" The plane interrupted Frisk, more blush permeating her.. face? "No, sir! I will not tell you who my new boyfriend is! You wouldn't believe me even if i did." Frisk frowned. "Ok, i just want what's best for you, Tsu, you'll have to let me meet him someday. I'll meet you upstairs." Sighing wistfully Frisk brushed past the plane, setting her off again into a blushing frenzy. Cries of 'Baka' followed him the rest of the way down the foyer, echoing throughout the empty building.
  8.
  9. The rest of his trip being uneventful, Frisk slipped into a moving daze, one foot moving in front of the other seemingly automatic. Before he knew it the bright carpets gave way to lush wooden flooring, shining brightly underneath the bright lights, switched on even during the daytime. Frisk's office stood at the end of another long hallway, lined with even more pictures and sculptures, offices to the side holding some of the most confidential documents about the sovereignty of monsters, locks and alarms allowing only a select few to view the interiors. Frisk's door slipped into view. Large and foreboding, lined with oak and gilded golden flower decal it had a plaque on it that read "Ambassador Frisk". It reeked of self importance. An image Frisk hated displaying but it was important in breaking down communications. Setting up a front for people to expect then subverting it. Frisk had gotten very good at this game.
  10.
  11. Framed to the left of the doorway was a tiny desk, set up for his secretary. Frisk had offered Tsu her own office but she refused, saying something about not liking enclosed spaces. A tiny photo of two larger planes holding a smaller one sat facing out into the corridor. Her parents, presumably. One with a comically large mustache and the other wearing a frilly pink bonnet. The smallest plane already looked cross, tiny little.. cheeks? Puffing out as she stared at the camera. On the wall was a clock, just next to the entrance to Frisk's office. A present from Sans. A reminder that time always moves forwards, no matter what. Stepping into his office, Frisk breathed a sigh of relief. This was probably one of the safer places from Asriel's constant watching. He knew Frisk's work was far too important to interrupt. It worried Frisk, that even though he didn't disturb him during work hours he would leave little presents sitting on his desk. How he'd managed to get into such a high security building so effortlessly and without being detected at all bothered Frisk more than he'd care to admit.
  12.
  13. A wide view window Overlooked the golden flower pathway from Frisk's office., Furnished plainly, Frisk had tried to make it simple and nondescript. An uncomplicated wooden desk with a few scattered bits of paper, a tiny intercom connected to the outside desk and downstairs sat in the middle, surrounded by a plush red carpet. The desk contained a few drawers to hold pencils and other random objects as well as a small safe just underneath for more important items. A picture of his family hung on the wall. Toriel and Asgore grinning as Frisk made a face at Asriel while his brother had tears in his eyes and a smile on his face. The sun was just beginning to climb over the horizon, filling the room with a gentle glow. Frisk's shadow, large against the wall grew as he neared his desk.
  14.
  15. Lying on it was a small gift wrapped box adorned with a tiny green ribbon. A tiny note on top read - Hey bro! I saw this and thought of you. Hope today isn't too stressful for you! - Frisk couldn't help but smile. That's my cute lil bro right there, always thoughtful and caring he thought while picking up the small box. The first thing Frisk noticed when opening up the box apart from it's contents was the smell. A strange metallic tinge hung in the air listlessly. "Oh.." mumbled Frisk. It was a small ring with a heart on it. It seemed familiar but Frisk couldn't quite place where he'd last seen it. Still, it was beautiful. The heart was a deep shade of red but sparkled with rainbow colours in the sunlight. The band surrounding it glistened gold and silver intertwined.
  16.
  17. Slipping it on felt right to Frisk. It fit smoothly over His finger leaving behind a slight red residue. Huh. That was weird, must've been something from the box he thought. Seeing it sparkle on his finger in the morning sunlight lifted Frisks dark mood considerably. Today was going to be hard, Frisk had to finish up the negotiations with a his greatest opponent to date. Dana Carol. Part of the {SOS}* initiative. {Save our souls}**. They'd risen up shortly after everyone the monsters had resurfaced along with Frisk. She spearheaded this group and blocked Frisk and his family at every turn. From giving monsters the basic rights afforded to humans to making sure that monsters would be able to afford their rent for the month. Simply because of a fear of monsters stealing human souls. True, his brother had technically stolen a lot of souls back in the underground but.. that was different. No monster would risk the future of all monster kind by doing something so stupid as taking a humans soul for personal gain. Besides, only he and Asriel knew of that little incident.
  18.
  19. Frisk picked up another folded note lying on his desk next to the parcel. On the front in large flowing cursive was the word "Agreement". Gently straightening out the folds he looked it over. His eyes glancing over the wording the main line that he was searching for was underscored in deep red ink. It read - 'I the undersigned agree to disband [SOS] and locate all remaining assets to [ORGANIZATION] in the hopes to foster a growing relationship between the aforementioned [ORGANIZATION] and former members of [SOS] as well as... Wordy, thought Frisk. Just the way he'd asked his secretary to make it. Carefully laying out the agreement on the table next to a fountain pen in the shape of a golden flower his father had given him, Frisk set about preparing his own notes for the event to come. A few piles shifted from his drawer onto the tabletop at the flick of his wrist. Better make sure not to do anything like that in front of their representative Frisk thought as he grinned. He remembered the pranks he'd played on her when they first met. It really hadn't gone well as he recalled.
  20.
  21. Thinking further, Frisk believed In hindsight, pulling that chair out from beneath her feet wasn't the smartest thing to do when dealing with psychopathic zealots who could barely be reasoned with. Frisk glanced over at the intercom sitting at the corner of his desk. I should probably let Tsu know she did a good job. Crackling through before Frisk had touched it, a short voice addressed him. "Frisk, sir!" short on breath and sounding panicked the secretary continued. "Please come out here the police are here and.. it's not. It's not good news." Frisk's throat caught as he ran from his chair. Thoughts racing through his mind did he go too far this morning? Was Asriel more hurt than he'd intended? Stupid idiot, he thought. You know you can't control magic that well why did you- Barging through the door, Frisk slammed into a wall of muscle bouncing off and splaying himself across the maroon carpeted floor, ending his thought process rather abruptly while kicking up fluff from the carpet. Rainbow coloured stars burst into life in front of his eyes, swirling around comically.
  22.
  23. "Are you Ambassador Frisk?" standing in front of the doorway was a tall monster with scales covering his whole body and a thick metal helmet placed daintily on his massive head with a webbed protruding vertically from the top. "Rg02?! What's happened, where's my family please tell me -" Pulling Frisk up effortlessly like a lifeless doll, the large former royal guard brushed the fluff off and silenced him with a silent stare. "Your family is fine, sir it's.. It's the Representative of [SOS]. We found her late last night horribly butchered - killed, in her own home. A gasp escaped Tsundere plane's lips, just to the left of Frisk, hovering behind her desk she had tears in her eyes.
  24. The world slowed to a crawl around Frisk, the ticking of the Clock hanging limply on the wall, stretching into eternity. Rg02's lips were wordlessly talking to Frisk from behind the dark confines of his helmet. Whatever he was saying Frisk simply couldn't grasp. A terrible uncaring thought echoed through Frisks head. That horrible terrible woman was gone. Tock. Time began to slowly move yet again. "Wha- what happened to her?" Frisk stammered eventually. "It's probably best not to talk about it here. Come down to the station, I need some extra details from you since you seem to have been the last person to see her sir." Frisks heart froze. "You want me to come with you? I can't have been the last to see her, the last time i saw her was a week ago, I-" Rg02 loomed over Frisk, his eyes covered in shadow.
  25.
  26. Frisk's world was crumbling around him, the pieces he'd built so carefully tumbling down. "Wait, Rg02, please, I just need some details." The large dragon monster hesitated, looking down on Frisk, "Don't make this any harder than it has to be sir." Frisk could feel his thoughts clicking in the back of his head. No, more like grinding and clunking into place like some comically large gears. The police thought he was involved somehow. Frowning, Frisk considered his options. Go with the man, or try to escape and solve this situation on his own. Perhaps he was being framed, perhaps.. No. Frisk would do this properly. He had one final resort to consider if all else failed. Summoning up his courage Frisk held out his arms. The large dragon stared at Frisks out held hands then back to his face. "Sir, you're not under arrest. Just please come with me."
  27.
  28. "Tsu, please let my family know I'm just going with the officer. Cancel all the remaining meetings for today, please." The floating aeroplane stared at Frisk, questions filling her eyes. "Is.. that all, sir?" Smiling Frisk thanked his luck he had such an attentive secretary working for him. "No, there's one other thing. Please enact full blackout on what's happened here today. At least for now." Falling in step behind the giant dragon monster brought memories flooding back for Frisk. Memories of a kind old lady who took him in at his the lowest point of his life. Of a long twisting Journey through laughter despair and determination. Of the life above the underground growing up with a family who loved and cared for him. A world not yet ready for monsters. The task. Ahead and behind him. The work that had been done. The things that would be undone. Thoughts of A brother, who was damaged but still loved and cherished swirled in Frisk's mind, dredging up long gone memories.
