  1. What should I do with a domain which is exactly the name of an influencer?

  14. Question is just like the title described. I came across an old domain, which is exactly the name of an influencer. The domain is perfect for one of my money site: it's clean, it's in the exact niche of my money site, it has strong backlinks from the niche, its old contents could be mostly restored. The problem is, its former owner, the influencer, is now still playing an active roller on the internet. I'm not sure why he dropped the domain in the first place.

  16. I want to use it as a pbn domain to pass link juice, but what could I do in this case? Restore the contents, rebuild it with new contents, or simply let it go? As,if I were the influence, I guess I would get mad to see someone else using this domain and my previous contents....

  26. You can try contacting the influencer to see if he is interested in buying it from you.

  28. Fuck him. He dropped it and now you got it. I would build that shit up and milk it for what its worth. Improve it make it better than before. If the original owner gets mad then offer it back to him at a MUCH higher premium, but only if its worth your while, otherwise keep it for the link juice.
  29. So I guess I have to build it with new contents, don't I? If I restore the old contents from archive.org, he will definitely get mad, as that were his properties.
  30. You can restore the content but with a spin on it. I dont mean to spin the content with a tool, I mean just rewriting some stuff, changing some titles, changing the design of the site, stuff like that so its not so obvious.
  31. I've thought about that. However, still not sure if it would cause future problems, as if I would use this domain, I would link it out to an important website I have. The problem is, the domain itself is already an obvious thing. Let's say, Mr. Obama had wrote a blog obama.com, but then for some reason he dropped the domain. Then, someone picked it up...neither restoring nor rewriting would be an easy move I guess.
  32. ICANN can take the domain from you if you impersonate someone. If you "spin" the content and be smart about how you are writing in the site, I dont see how they can take it from you. But anyways, if you write new content, you also need to explain why you have a domain that match his exact name, so you have the same problem. I would just go for it with the same content from before as the risk its almost the same.
  33. Yes, that's exact what I'm now coming to a decision. If there's no any other better way, then stick with the easiest way would be a good move. Use it, and get the most link juice of it, before it's taken down.
